PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Was Dustforce ever patched and fixed for the Vita? If so, I'll get that, if not, I'll get OlliOlli.

OlliOlli is still crashy I think, they mentioned a patch but I don't think it has been deployed yet.

They did announce retroactively applicable triple platform cross-buy though, so buying it now is good value.

I didn't know OllieOllie had any crashing problems for anyone... played the hell out of that game for a couple weeks when it came out. Unless by crashing you mean face planting.

I'll boot up Dust Force here in awhile and see if it feels any better.

Top of the page recommendations:

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken
Quell Memento
Borderlands 2
Playstation Vita Pets (someone has to recommend it)

I thought that the patch was released last week, wasn't it?

Deception is really unlike many games out there in my opinion and worth it on the sheer basis of playing the remorseless daughter of the Devil and punishing arrogant 'heroes'. That and the novelty of designing Rube Goldberg torture rooms doesn't grow old. Probably the only thing that might get in the way of your enjoyment is the fact that you're simultaneously moving around and leading your targets to your traps.

Edit: OlliOlli patch has been up for a few days now, at least in EU regions, I'm sure.

I just bought a Vita (1000, original model).

Wat do GAF. I already have a year of PS+. I have a memory card but it is only 4GB.
Congrats. As for memory cards check out local listings for used memory cards as people are always offloading them for much cheaper than retail. 8GB minimum if you're going mostly physical; 16GB+ if you plan on making the most of PS+.

Seriously, WTF? Famitsu this early? I had to look at the calendar again to make sure that today was still Monday and the nap I had earlier didn't hibernate me until Wednesday.

That's earlier than I expected. The sooner they start 3 the better.

That is not exactly early, considering that the first time we got a whiff of Dangan Ronpa going Vita was May last year.

Chronos Materia next.

Chronos Materia was KIA. It was supposed to release September last year.

I was about to say "where the fuck do they get all the resource to do all these*" then I saw your message.

*Ciel nosurge Offline's programming was completely redone from scratch.

Get a bigger memory card and buy both Persona 4 Golden and Demon Gaze. Maybe Danganronpa as well.

I defo need to get a bigger memory card cause 4GB isn't a whole lot. All those games are on my to-buy list as the main reason I just bought a Vita was for niche Japanese games.

Sell it if you can. Buy a 16GB one second hand or look for some MegaPack (if you leave on EU) that include some interesting games. I think the first one was the best of the bunch and it's for 45€ in Amazon.es. It comes with some cool games.

Don't give in to the man dude. If you buy a bigger memory card those suits at sony win. The only way to play the game is to stick with your 4GB. You only need 2-4 games at a time, right?

Just popping in. Im really pissed at the quality of PJ Shooter's servers. The last trophy I need for plat is win 5 league matches in a row. Its frickin impossible sometimes to even finish a match. Otherwise, it was a pretty good game.

Being $20 cheaper at launch, I went for it and didn't regret. The only differences are graphics (obviously) and replay upload to youtube, which is PS3-only.

Hmm only question now is do I violate my vow of not buying digital due to Sony no 1st party commitment so if I have to sell this thing I can, or get digital at 50% off?

Whoa, I didn't even know there was 64GB cards. I thought 32GB was the largest.

How much would I even get for a 4GB? I'm in Canada but I haven't seen any of those megapacks around here. Definitely considering getting a 16GB card somewhere though.

I don't mind "cleaning the fridge" on digital games when I beat them, but 4GB doesn't seem to be a whole lot. I'm leaning towards getting a 16GB card which isn't that expensive.

I have a 16 gig and currently have 5 vita games and 5 PSP games and I'm only really concentrating on one game currently. Also saved up some space for Atelier Rorona +.

Well, who knows. Unless you want to keep it in order to play Japanese demos or some game that's only on EU PSN you could try to sell it.

I've been using a 16GB for 9 months and it's not that bad. You need to clean the fridge once in a while as you've said but you'll be able to keep a dozen of games. If you don't want to spend a lot of money they're the best option.

Those Megapacks are an EU only thing. Sucks that SCEA hasn't tried to get them too :(

I roll with a 16. Upload saves to PS+, "clean the fridge" as you say frequently, buy physical when possible. I have 2 pages of games on my Vita max at any given time.

Yeah, I'll hold onto the 4GB card for now but a 16GB card seems like the way to go. I'll pick one up the next time I have a chance to. Thanks for the input guys.

Where is this news that Ar nosurge plus is coming? Famitsu?

edit:nvm just saw an article. Damn, offline Ciel nosurge too. Hopefully this makes them consider localizing both.

Me too anyone else with thoughts on PS Vita version?

I played through the game on the Vita and while I sometimes wish I could have captured and uploaded traps to youtube, it is not essential to enjoy the game. I did have the game crash on me a few times (which sucks because you can only save after boss fights) and had to replay 10-20 mins to catch back up to where I was. That was really the only problem I had and it rarely happened. This was my first play through of a game in this series and I had a blast. I still have not gone back through after beating the game to unlock all of the traps and costumes or even to attempt to get the other endings, so there is a good amount of replay potential. IMO it is definitely worth the $20 for the digital version.

Okay -- wow at how fast the Vita OS is compared to the PS3 OS. Its like night and day.

The two-button register (choose, open) felt clunky to me at first, but now I like it. Having my most used apps up at all times in a condensed format is handy. (Folders just aren't the same, lol) It makes it seem a lot faster than it already is.

On a different note, Muramasa Rebirth is quite fun. It throws a bit too much at you in the beginning with the controls, but I think I've got it figured out now. Loving the music and Okami-esque battle screens.

Get the DLC once you finish the game, while you still have the mechanics fresh in your head.

As for Europe: yes, they've been patched. Olliolli now runs perfectly fine, I don't know about Dustforce since I didn't play it before nor I've played it after, but the demo was fine to me, no slowdowns.

OlliOlli patch up on US.

Right? I can't use a PS3 anymore without being annoyed, so much that I didn't replace mine when it died
a week before the PS4 announcement. The slow UI wasn't the only reason for not getting a new one, you see...

Beat Persona 3 Portable the other day and man was it a great game :D! The story really ramps up toward the end and the ending is....really sad :(.

The final boss...man, what a boss it is.
You have to beat him 12 times in a row.....all in one battle with now health re-fills....with epic music booming in the background to boot; man was it more fun then the Persona 4 final boss :D!

I also watched the "Answer" epilog online (own P3:FES but I don't know if I can play that after playing P3 Portable....the gameplay is so much improved there over the original game :() and was really surprised how good it was :D.

To think all Altus had to do was simply re-release P3 with some new Personas to use and call it a day but nope, instead they more or less make ANOTHER P3 with tons more content and a full-on story that closes the book on the things P3 left out
(though what happens to the main character is really messed up...).
Glad I watch through that :).

I will give P3P another playthrough with the FM Main Character (with the social stats maxed out, I can do the social links I missed out on) latter on :). Can't wait to see what Altus and the Persona Team does with Persona 5, don't know if they can top this and Persona 4 Golden.

GAF, help me use my money wisely!

I bought my Vita last week. A lovely Vita 1000 with dat sexy OLED screen, packed with Uncharted and Soul Sacrifice. That, and 3 months of PS+ (just to try the service). I'm getting a 16 GB memory card from Amazon tomorrow to replace the measly 4 GB card that came packed with the bundle. So far, I've got:

  • Uncharted: Golden Abyss
  • Soul Sacrifice
  • Sly 4 (PS+)
  • Dragon's Crown (PS+)
  • Surge Deluxe (PS+)
  • Pixel Junk Shooter Ultimate (PS+)

To celebrate my birthday, I decided to get myself a €20 PSN card to treat myself with a game or two. This is the first time that I buy anything on the PlayStation Store, so I would like to maximize my purchase. I have some questions:

  1. The PS+ IGC titles for July are going to be announced this week, right? Should I wait until they are announced before buying anything? Or am I on the safe(r) side, having so very few games?
  2. What are the chances of PSP games being part of the IGC? There are a few I'd like to get (Monster Hunter looks tempting), but I wouldn't like to shoot myself in the foot by buying a game that will end up being "free".
  3. I really wanted to get P4 Golden... but, sadly, while I was setting up my PS account, credit card info and all that, I missed the E3 sale last week. How often does P4G go on sale?
  4. What about the other Persona games? I never managed to finish P3P, and I would really like to get it on PSV, but €30 is pretty steep for a PSP game...
  5. How often does the PSN have sales? I'm used to having some sort of perma-sale state on Steam...

Sorry if my questions are too basic (and dumb)!

PS+ EU game might be announced either tomorrow or thursday, so hold on a bit

Since you're from europe, the chances of PSP games being part of IGC are very slim, there have been just two so far, and only one was part of the IGC (GTA LCS; the other one was Super Stardust and it was an extra for the 5th anniversary of SSHD, Vita's IGC wasn't even a thing back then)

I say hold on to that 20 bucks credit until the new PS+ games are announced; your in EU, so that alone ensure you will get they BEST games from PS+ :D!

As for the Persona games, you can get a retail copy of Persona 4 Golden really cheap; if you get it used at GameStop or something you can get it for under 20 bucks :) (though it really is worth its full price; you WILL playthrough the game MANY times :D).

With Persona 3 Portable, I don't know if that goes on sale that often (and considering you are in EU PSN, he Persona games confusingly don't go on sale there often :(...weird considering how they go on sale often in US PSN). I say wait for that to go on sale, it is worth full price but from an objective standpoint, P4G is the better game (on just a streamlined level; the dungeons are all unique and the social links actually improve your parties abilities), so if you can't get both, get P4G for now.

PSN has MANY sales and a good deal of them are awesome :D; you will see soon enough (as the summer sales might be coming soon for EU PSN).

Lastly, for the PSP games on PS+....that stopped I think :l. After I think early this year, the PS+ games are mostly PSN and Retail games. In US, we got a good number of PSP games last year and this year from PS+ (not sure if EU got many PSP games from Plus). I say wait for sales in regards to PSP games :l.

Hope this helps :D.
