EDIT: I suck at this :(

You can't embed content on GAF. Just post a link.

Y'all talking shit about Brasil like Netherlands didn't just barely win against Australia. This is the fuckin world cup everyone's out there playing the game of their fucking lives Chile whooped Spain not only can anything happen, but, and I'm sorry, but Brasil is not "likely" to get "wrecked" by anybody. They're a world class team . End of discussion. Every single team that has made it to the next round is grade A talent. Brasil probably being a better example of it.

Honestly, don't overestimate us Dutchies. We're stronger than expected, but our midfield is pretty shaky. Still, we have a good chance of advancing to the next round. I totally didn't expect Oranje to get out of the group phase, so everything else is sweet.

you make it sound like Chile's a shit team and doesn't have two of the best players in the world. Costa Rica could probably take a giant shit on Brazil, though.

heh. well, Argentina doesn't have any glaring holes and the fact that they have Messi and a ridiculous amount of attacking talent... I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt

Argentina maybe because of Messi, if he is inspired then they have struck gold, but one that I disagree with you is Belgium. Everyone hyped them so much before the WC to me that I was expecting some top class team. However, I still haven't seen one great performance on their part, they are just getting by on their group. That RUS x BEL match was awful.

the way I see it is—Belgium has played poorly and they've managed to grind out results anyways. Just imagine how they'll be if they actually start playing well! I think if any team has the potential to finally click and really go far in the tournament, with that much talent, it would be foolish to write off Belgium. and even if they don't click, they're a pretty solid team, they don't leak a lot of goals, they've got quite a few tall players—they're the type of team that can grind out wins via corners and set pieces.

I understand now what you are saying, but this could be said about teams like Italy and Brasil too, they are not playing their best, but have great players on the team and are going along, though not easily.

I don't think Costa Rica could ever win the WC because if it did, our country would implode. I can only image the amount of heart attacks. Just reaching semi finals might kill a few.

I fear that if we reach quarter finals our economy will completely shut down for a few weeks.

OMFG! My voice is gone!

How good is this world cup?! Holy fucking shit!

Fernandinho can't possibly be benched again after this game... He completelly changed the team. That goes to show how much Paulinho has been a non-factor. It's like we were playing with 1 less man.

Keep Fernandinho, Scolari... PLEASE.

Now Chile... may the best win, my friends.

The stadium was packed. Not a single free seat this time. Pretty fucking awesome.

Also, Fred was not offside... And the cameroon player that pushed neymar for no reason is a punk. Fuck him.

netherlands
germany
argentina
belgium
france

all have very well balanced squads with two or three world class talents on top of that.

then you have sides like Chile and Uruguay, who don't have a deep talent pool, but are organized, and tactically set up well to compensate for their weaknesses and maximize their stars' ability. they could easily pose Brazil huge problems.

belgium?? You cant be serious...

I missed the second half of Croatia and Mexico. Can anyone tell me what the fuck happened? First half was pretty much all Croatia.

Herrera went Super Saiyan around the 70th minute and Mexico scored 3 goals in 10 minutes. But honestly I'm not sure what half you were watching because Mexico had loads of chances in both halves.

How many years, or world cups, has Mexico qualified to second round in a row now?

When was the last time Mexico didn't qualified to second round. Google'd it, Argentina 1978.
