GAFers with both the Xbox One and PS4...

I have all 3 current gen systems now.

I use my xbox everyday. But mostly because I have it connected to my tv (i like that i can easily switch between tv/netflix/a game. And I will play exclusives on it.

PS4 is probably going to be the go to for most console exclusive games.

My wii u will be like all wii u's....a box for nintendo games.

My PC is still my bread and butter. But it is showing its age.

Unless a game is DRASTICALLY better on PS4, I get it on Xbox One for Achievements, friends, and I've shared my library with a friend so it helps him out too.

It seems kind of odd that it's mostly junior members stating the "multi - Xbox, single - ps4" thing. Sure there are plenty of XBONEs out there but with the sizable lead the PS4 has the numbers don't seem to support XBONEs XBL being as far ahead of PS4's PSN as this thread would seem to indicate.

Xbox for the multis, ps4 for the exclusives. And I'm not an MS employee or paid shill, if that's what you are implying.

This console warz stuff is srs bizness.

Before I'd buy games on 360 over PS3 just because of achievements (380k gamerscore) as well as hardly any difference between the two graphically it didn't really matter much with the games themselves. Now that PS4 multi plats look noticeably better, I've started buying them on PS4 instead because in the end you're playing the game for the experience and enjoyment, regardless of having less gamerscore as a result of getting the PS4 version. It's about what and you get out of it not some stupid score or trophy.

Why people on my xbox friends list refuse to buy the superior console and version of a game (they clearly got the money as they bought a Xbone and buy lots of games for it regularly and read up on such things like framerate etc) but will STILL end up sticking with inferior versions just to get up a gamerscore is beyond me. They choose to ignore that there is actually a big graphical difference between the two this time and actually believe they won't notice. They do not want to accept that they will be getting less gamerscore if they switched to the superior looking versions of the game. Just look at people like Stallion83 as an example. Absolutely ridiculous. Why do these people play games in the first place? It must seem like a chore to them like a second job?

I was once like that and forgot why I was playing games for a bit and what made me get into them in the first place in the early 90s. It certainly wasn't gamerscore or trophies. I'll go to the console that offers the best games and if they look better too it's a no brainer. In this case it's the PS4.

For console only games, Xbox One right now.

Sony promised suspend/resume, it's still not here. Until it comes I'm not buying anything but exclusives on it. Load times on consoles are ridiculous and I don't want to wait >1 minute every time I want to load up a game.

Plus I prefer the Xbone controller to the DS4.

How do you decide which console to buy games on? I feel bad if I leave one console sitting there without touching it for months on end...

Friends and what they may have it on, if I am getting it for review, if it is also on PC. Actually a good deal of things now that I think about it.

I really find the "my friends are on Xbox one" argument to be a bit unauthentic so early in the gen with no backwards compatibility and the slow sales start

Everything on PC, except for shooters (I use a controller).
Shooters on PS4.
Console exclusives on PS4.

In addition, EA games on Origin and Ubisoft games on Uplay.

I have more friends on xbox so for me:
Xbox: Multiplayer
PS4: Single player and exclusives. I usually have voice chat up on my Xbox.

PS4 for most multiplats and games with better performance. Once in a while I'll get a XBO multiplat if it's MP and my friends are getting it on the XBO.

Sort of what I'm doing. I mostly get multiplats on PS4, not just because the performance is usually better, but I much prefer the controller and UI. I really only get exclusives on X1. But I may make some exceptions for multiplayer multiplats on X1 if friends become a factor. I have more friends on PS4 than X1 though. So I guess it depends on which side I have the most friends getting it on a system.

Sith im so glad you posted as I can relate so much. A load of my xbox 360 friends have been so enticed to own a PS4 from the exclusives and noticeable multiplat differences along with the hype train behind it. They ended up going with the X1 because they said they don't want to lose there gamerscores. As far as enjoyment and getting the best experience possible out of games they are simply tied down by gamerscores. One of my xbox friends was saying its kinda pathetic but its like hes addicted to his gamerscore and is hooked on increasing it.

PS4 for exclusives or massively better version (Destiny )

XBO for everything else

I'm not a fan of the DS4's triggers or the PS Store. I like the XBO ecosystem (jumping from game to netflex to tv with my voice, without having to change inputs is a huge plus for me.

Also My TV only does 720p and I apparently can't tell the difference between 30fps-60fps

Last gen I bought most multi-plat games on 360 cos they looked better, I preferred the controller and I had XBL.

This gen, it's been PS4 because they look better. I prefer xb1 controller though...

I really find the "my friends are on Xbox one" argument to be a bit unauthentic so early in the gen with no backwards compatibility and the slow sales start

In the US the race is neck and neck so it isn't a surprise. And what does backwards compatibility have to do with anything?

or are you calling all the people saying this to be shills or liars?

unauthentic... Wow

If Platform holder exclusive feature or Marketing agreement exists -> Go to That platform

Otherwise -> Go to Platform that It shows Better Graphics or more multiplayer user base. -> PS4

I get Xbox Exclusives on Xbox (obviously) and console exclusives on PS4. Runs/looks better most of the time + friends are on that system.

All other multiplats are mostly played on PC, aside from unoptimized ports in which case (since my 670 is showing it's age) I'll play it on PS4.

Same as last gen but reversed. I'll buy exclusives for Xbox One but multiplats on PS4 unless it's a mp centric game and my friends are playing on Xbox One. Last gen I bought multiplats on 360 and used my PS3 mostly for Sony exclusives.

Absolutely. People better start posting some friends list screenshots or else, am I right?

So you don't own the Xbox One, the fuck you doing in this thread then? Damn, some people just can't read lol.

Again, I ask, WHY does everybody's friends here have Xbox Ones!?

Christ some of the posts in this thread.

I'm stunned that so many simply refuse to accept that people play games on a console they have purchased.

Why are some of you taking it so personally?

I prefer the Xbox One but my friends are on the PS4. It's a bad situation.

I wish I could buy every game for the X1 but I think it'll just be exclusives, with every other game on PS4.

No I never implied anything of the sort, I am saying you can have a cross gen friends list on both consoles but you can't play games with anyone but new console owners. So it is a clean slate no matter which console you go for unless all of your friends have bought and Xbox one

I personally enjoy achievements and trophies quite a bit. I like having a record of what I've played and challenges I completed. That said, why do people care what console they are on? I like having BOTH Xbox achievements and PlayStation Trophies. Hell, I'd love Nintendo to follow suit as well.

I bet 99% of these players who are just sooooo addicted to growing that gamerscore are nowhere near being top ranked for it. So why bother?

Xbox One for Online Multi-Player games for dedicated servers and online experience.

PS4 for Singleplayer multi platform and exclusives games.

Destiny Alpha (and future exclusives) on PS4.

Everything else on Xbox One.

I don't care about resolution, I have way more friends on XBO and I watch TV through it so it's easy to get an invite and jump right into a game.

Well around 100,000 people have bought an Xbox One in Australia.

Is it hard to believe a few of my friends are in that bunch? They were all 360 players, with 3/4 of them also had PS3s they barely touched which is now why only I bought a PS4. They couldn't justify buying both when they knew they'd only be playing one of them.

These guys aren't forum dwellers who care about 900p vs 1080p. Most of them didn't know last gens games were mostly sub HD. I'm the one who told them.

So logically, why would they go PS4?

I actually have the most games on my WiiU funnily enough.

I think its more so my friends are like why waste time trying to start from scratch to get achievements on that other console when I can increase my gamerscore even more on the one I been playing the most. I pitched that to them believe me lol, I was like earn trophies on psn and bolster your score over here but they wasn't trying to here it. Yet they are always asking me questions about the PS4 and are very interested in it that gamerscore just has them on smash.
