GAFers with both the Xbox One and PS4...

Is the PC Port any good?
If it's good then I buy for the PC, plug it into the Tridef 3D Stereoscopic Driver for use on a FPR IPS 3D monitor.

If the Port is bad on the pc?
what ever version is better be it the ps4 or xbone, don't matter to me.

I agree with that, it wouldn't make sense for ps4 people either

Three years into the gen I wouldn't really make this point but after the first seven months I don't feel like friends list would be a huge priority in the decision making when everyone essentially starting from scratch

I am sure there are many genuine cases where people got their consoles along with friends, and it is a good reason to buy a multiplat game. But it feels like every second post in this thread is using that as a reason which I find bizarre

All it takes is at one friend. That's it. If people intend to play mutliplayer with their best friend or friends it makes total sense they would plan to buy the same platform.

I don't think they do a vote among their friend list. Obviously close friends take priority. I'm presuming this is what people are referring to. Not their friend list in general.

I generally choose what provides better value. Usually depends on graphical performance, price or content.

Only buy console exclusives for the consoles since PC is my main platform. But, as far as the consoles go i haven't decided yet.
I want the best version wich so far seems to be PS4 and i have less games for that console so wan't to even it out a bit.

At the same time i can't stand the dualshock controller and i care more about xbox achievements than the playstation trophies.
So far, the next console exclusive game i will get is MGS5.

I have i pre-ordered for the PS4 since it's supposed to be the better version, but since i got the prequel for the ps4 and i couldn't really get used to the controller.
It just felt awkward and couldn't hold the controller in a comfortable way without feeling pain i'm leaning more towards going with my xbone as my main console from now on.

Lmao, I have a gaming PC, X1, PS4 and a Wii U and as far as I am concerned I won't be told by a junior how I prioritize my gaming selection.
I have multiple consoles and a gaming pc as well. JR SR it doesn't matter. I qouted a opinion you made with a opinion of my own and that was that.

Fair enough, I see your point and and get your context, and I apologize for being condescending.

I just think they're reasonable responses since your account can simply carry over from last gen into this gen. So your friend list would be the same so the transition to playing with your friends would be a lot easier, and a lot of people (might be hyperbole sorry) preferred playing multiplayer games with their friends on 360 rather than PS3 because of 360's/Xbox Live's better online systems to play with your friends (party chat, cross game chat, better notification system, messaging was a lot better than PS3's IMO, etc).

Yes PS4 has vastly improved PSN/online systems (and much stronger hardware), but that doesn't mean people would want to stop playing with their friends on Xbox Live.

No need to be mad about who is enjoying which console's online ecosystem more. You have to realize that this thread is just for PS4+XBO owners; most PS4 owners are probably satisfied with that console alone (or another system that isn't the XBO, as specified by the OP). Hence, the large disparity from what sales would indicate.*

Quality.

I want to play the better version of each game, since I own an XBO and PS4. All my multi-platform games are on my PS4. I just have my XBO for Titanfall and Forza, which were free with the console.

Why did I get an XBO? It was a gift.

I just picked up strider because it was on sale for the xbox one, I guess it will be like this for me, if I see something cheaper or on sale it doesn't matter which console I get it for.

Exlusives aside, for me it's PS4 for multi-platform, by default, unless there is parity or marginal difference in performance, in which case the Bone's controller wins it for me.

I rest my case kelsey my opinion was for people who think like this. Many Xbox One gamers carried this stigma from last gen with them to this gen, its actually been the deciding factor on why many went the X1 rout over the PS4. I don't mind what console preference a man or woman has but I do have the right to speak up on and correct ignorance.

Why arent you complaining about people who are saying only MS exclusives and everything else on PS4? Arent those guys basically calling the xbone the Wii U going by your logic? There's more of these people then the one's claiming multi on xbone and sp on ps4.

Surprised there is so much animosity in a thread centered around people that have both consoles (and don't leave out our friends that are even more inclusive with the Wii U).

If someone bought both I would expect that they would find value and strengths in both systems that appealed enough for them to make a fairly substantial purchase and in general would see both in a somewhat favorable light.

I don't have a formula for how I am going to buy future games, though so far it has been mainly XB1 and PS+ games. For the rest of the year it looks pretty even for both (Destiny on both, Last of Us, Halo MCC, Sunset Overdrive, Driveclub -PS+ version)

In general I will follow my friends list for online games. As some have pointed out this early in the gen not everyone has jumped over so only about a third of my friends list is on the XB1 and they are split between the available apps and games. I'm also trying to build my PSN list as I am new to it, but it is already growing. Unless there at some point being such a difference in online communities that finding a game becomes harder on one versus the other I don't think that would drive my choice.

Performance I care about, but it is more of a bar I am looking for it to be over as opposed to the max possible (I would invest more in PC if that was my main priority). While I can see the difference it hasn't been enough of a disparity to push me one way or another, though I get why that would be for someone else. Numbers by themselves don't mean much to me without context.

Controllers are a wash for me as well. While I do like the speaker in the DS4, I don't think I would ever choose a game purchase because of it.

Probably going to be the kind of thing that I evaluate each game purchase when the time comes as opposed to having a defined system in place.

Edit: if I ever found I had one system that was sitting unused for months on end I would sell it. I don't see that happening with either.

a gaming console or PC in general is what you make it no matter the brand there is fun to be had on them all. You totally miss my point and I don't want to keep explaining it. Just know im a passionate advocate for gaming as a whole.

My thought process is as follows.

1 - PC is always my first choice

2 - Where my friends are (Xbox Live for the most part)

3 - If a console port is totally broken on Xbox or just leagues better on Playstation I'll likely get he PS4 version (Haven't been forced to make this choice yet)

I'm from the uk but buy my games from the american stores digitally, the ps4 doesn't charge tax, add in the fact that I have two young children so need to use remote play on the vita to have any chance of finishing games an it's a no brainer for multi plats.

That said, I use the xbox for other things, watching tv and netflix. The voice commands are so useful when you have a 8 week old in your arms or cannot find the remotes. I would also make an exception for big multiplayer multiplats Cod/fifa etc as my friends all have xbox ones.

1. PC is my first choice.

2. PS4 for all multiplats that aren't on PC + Exclusives.

3. X1 (just for Exclusives)

I pretty much will only use my X1 for Sunset and Halo Master Chief collection. I haven't turned it on in a month, it's been collecting dust.

Wii U is the real surprise for me. If I'm not playing a game on PC, it's usually an IP for Wii U that I'm playing on console.

no one is doing that? a ton of post on this thread is saying if its ps4 single player only multiplayer X1. That was the huge stigma from last gen and its definitely carried over to this gen regarding allot of peoples views

No one is labeling it. They're stating how they've been purchasing their games.

To be frank, you simply sound like a PlayStation fanboy who can't seem to come to grips with people who aren't using their PS4 as their main console of choice.

I won't be picking up an Xbone until later today, but..

PS4 - Multiplats
Xbone - Exclusives

Not planning on getting Gold unless I see a decent deal for a years worth, already have PS+.

There is no war only truth

Honestly, there is no "truth". Everyone has their own reasons for buying a console, or choosing which version to buy over another. Hell, even if objectionably the PS4 has a better version of game, it's reasonable for someone to go with the X1 version because they like the X1 controller more. Me personally? I'll always go with the best version (performance wise). But I see nothing wrong with someone going with a technically inferior version, if there are other reasons (such as preferring the X1 OS, therefore like the overall experience more, or they have more friends on Xbox Live vs PSN).

I think it's really annoying when people try to judge others on what they think somethings value is. Not everyone has the same idea of value.

With Games with Gold it kind of pays for itself though. Look at it that way. This month we got Max & The Curse of the Brotherhood and Spartan Assault. Not bad. I'm glad Sony forced MS into this practice. I'm also glad MS forced Sony to do something with their online to differentiate. Now we reap the benefits of competition.

Thinking on it more I suppose it does make sense when he fact you have to pay for one service or the other comes into play, I guess for a lot of people already paying for Live it's an easier transition than changing subscriptions

Having said that, I've pre ordered destiny for PS4. Bungie doesn't like Xbone

Same. I loved the one strike included in the Alpha, and the PS4 version is getting an exclusive strike, so that choice was an easy one. I might get the game on XB1 to play with friends though. All depends on how long it takes to level to 20 and get to the end game content.

I love games check my backlog. I have been called a nintendo fanboy because I said the 3DS is the overall best HH gaming device. I understand people often misinterpret passion so im done posting on topics that I am passionate about. I would advise ppl to play on whatever console makes them happy. My friends all wanted me to go to six flags to get on rollercoasters knowing I hate them and I said eff you guys and caught a movie alone instead and I was happy about
that decision, goodnight.

Another thing to consider for this is that when buying an XB1 people may not get rid of their 360s.

It is less of a point now, but when everything was behind the paywall having one live account was all you needed to run everything. I kept mine and put it in the bedroom and dropped my DVR service. What I save in a month pays for both my live and PSN subs.

I buy almost everything on PS4 because it has the best controller, better performance and I prefer the ecosystem. It has the coveted "HDMI1" slot on my TV.

I have some friends with X1's so games I plan to play with them (CoD, for example) I buy on that system. It's pretty much an exact reversal of last gen, where I played almost everything on my 360.

I buy multiplayer games and exclusives for xbox 1

And I will buy single player and exclusives for ps4 because my xbox friends won't leave me alone to play a single player game

I tend to buy most of my games on X1, especially stuff like Destiny, Evolve and Assassin's Creed Unity are a no brainer since my friends play there and co-op is something that i love

Next thing i'm buying on ps4 is heavy on sp content (DA:I) and next I'll only get exclusive on it
