PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

But reality is the complete opposite, by artificially delaying the game in Japan until they are done with the localization, they would be missing on potential sales.
Opportunity cost.
You're also underestimating the localization effort for this game. Just because it's a rhythm game doesn't mean it can be localized in a single day. It probably has a full story mode, and then there's also the dubbing.
Not artificially delaying a game, localizing while simultaneously developing the game. And that's not really Opportunity Cost. Opportunity Cost would be localizing and a releasing a game in and of itself. Ideally if you developed both at the same time and it was scheduled correctly, you wouldn't have to delay anything.
Atlus is the only company to ever region lock a PS3 game. They're very much afraid of reverse importation. A $40 US release of Persona 4: DAN launching the same week as a $70 JP release will have them counting missing dollars.
Oh hey, that's the reason I can't buy Blu-Rays of One Piece. Maybe if the Japanese didn't let themselves get price gouged we wouldn't have this problem.

They can't even label it as a big game if they don't even dub it :S

I don't think it matters much when they release it. Maybe they could use it as a launch game for the Vita TV but outside of this possibility it's not like the game is guaranteed much success.

I have no issues with a text only localization if the localization and its programming are good. Tales of Hearts R's localization for now appear to be really poor since the text doesn't properly express what is said by the characters and they didn't add subtitles for when the characters speak after and during fights. Text is weirdly aligned in dialog boxes too since there's a huge blank space at the bottom of each box.

It's Freedom Wars text only too?

My ps4 is coming in today and I don't know much about psn but I heard resogun is on sale for 10$. How long does the sale last?

I have finals this week so don't have much time to open it up, but if it ends tomorrow I'll try to buy it.

Not artificially delaying a game, localizing while simultaneously developing the game.

That's easier said than done. You're underestimating the extra effort and logistics that this kind of development would imply. And in any case Atlus does not have the international mindset to make that happen, their in-house studios only care about making Japanese games for the Japanese audience, while the US branch picks up from there for the localization.

La-Mulana comes out in December.

There's a date at least...

(holy shit there were a lot of spelling/word mistakes in my last post lol, sorry, I had just woken up)

Cross buy? Cool. Now do I want to play this again? My memory of the PS3 version is:

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, YES!

Agreed, I'm playing it on Vita and I'm not really loving it. Unluckily it's the closest to Locoroco we'll ever get on Vita ( ._.)

Yeah it's not bad by any means and it controls fine. Just the gameplay is 99% frustration with 1% "Yes I finally beat you motherfucker!". It's just I'm not sure the happy moments were worth all the agony.

It's SCEA. They'll post it when they wake up from their afternoon nap.

Hyper Light Drifter is keeping my Vita flame burning; dimly, but burning, nonetheless. Then there's Hotline Miami 2, I guess.

Unfortunately as an early backer, I will have to buy another copy if I want to play it. It's really a shame that early backers are unable to add $5 to be able to chose the Vita version.

I agree, though changing the control scheme to L/R made it a lot easier. But I'm at chapter 5, I guess next levels will be bloody hard regardless of the control scheme...

Oh, just realised that in a week my Vita will turn 1. according to my PSN account I've played through 22 games, not counting free2play(Montzuma Blitz & Arena), fighting & racing games, Unit 13 (dropped before getting halfway through) and the two games I'm playing right now(Ninja Gaiden and Puddle). I'm loving this console...

Just wait until you have to jump from hydro wire to hydro wire. You need enough speed to jump the gap, but not so much you get any height which will cause you to slide off the wire and die.

L+R works good for the inverted controls stages with the age old just turn the controller upside down trick:lol

I didn't realize until last night playing SotN again and picked up the shield rod how not-as-easy it is to press square and circle at the same time on the Vita. Can't just slide my thumb over both and have to take my hand off and use two fingers. I kinda wish I could assign multiple buttons or input sequences to some of the touch screen functions.

Game kept freezing for a split second every now and then too. I don't remember having that problem early on with the PSOne emulation, or anywhere when I'd play SotN for awhile and then put it back down.

Is this Playstation Now or real vita gameplay?

Okay, so I may be wrong, but wouldn't a PS3 or PS4 game have the button prompts displayed WITH COLOURS to match the controller. It may just be a design choice, but seeing as how a Vita version of this game is still up for pre-order at a store in my country (and reports of it appearing in others), I wouldn't be surprised if this was actually in development for Vita too.

EDIT: Just checked out a gameplay Video, and it seems like the PS3 version definitelydoes use coloured button prompts! .
Yeah, I'm gonna say that the video posted above is now very likely Vita footage. Nice find!

I bought all the one piece dvd collections up til just before the show converts to hd. I refuse to buy HD content thrown on dvds. You just know they will start releasing the whole show on blu-ray
if its still alive at this point. Were talking upwards of 10 years here.
once the entire show is complete. I will wait to buy one piece once they release it in HD. I better have a 4k remaster of the entire show or something at that point lol.

It's a faded off-screen video, can't really tell what color it is. If Ratchet Nexus Vita were actually playable at E3, we probably would have known about it weeks ago.

Is it even Ratchet Nexus in the first place? The video says Ratchet and & Clank Trilogy...

Pretty sure the PS3 version didn't have the coloured icons from the PS3 pad. It's been about seven months since I played it so could be wrong.

Am I still alone in wishing that they got rid of the colors, tradition aside? The monochrome look the Vita sports is far nicer to me.
And the DS4 handles still look extremely phallic.

Yes. You're right, we should have heard something by now if it was at E3. That's why I'm not 100% on the button thing. Despite it being an offscreen video I think a pink square button would have been noticeable (that other pink button thing for instance shows clearly against that gray background).
Despite the title of the video, it does look a lot like Into the Nexus. I haven't played it, but I did a quick search and found a VERY similar looking area. Like I said, I may be wrong. As a Vita owner, you have to expect disappointment. So yeah, I probably am wrong. :(

The Project Diva games have always used colored button icons despite having started on PSP.

No because the PS4 player colors match the PS button icon colors.

(player 1 is blue, player 2 is red, player 3 is green, player 4 is pink)

That is from the PS Now.

vagabondarts, I think they're saying that Freedom Wars' focus isn't on hunting, but rescuing. That alone changes the flow of the gameplay, where you don't grind endlessly for monsters or try to take down huge bosses for the sake of taking them down.

Hm... I'm gonna have to watch some gameplay sessions to see what you mean

I would really like to believe you....but, the game ran way to smooth to be a Vita game :(; the original PS3 version had many frame-rate drops to begin with, so how can the Vita run the game better than PS3 does?

My guess Sony is running many of its own tittles on PC's, so that way games like Last of Us, GOW:A, Puppetter, and so on run at high frame-rates, making them workable on PS Now.

Besides, it wouldn't make since for this to come Vita, as the Future games didn't even arrive on Vita (so the story wouldn't make much since, I guess :l). I suppose that BluePoint or Armpature (come on, if the game really is coming to Vita, it has to be one of them; that gameplay video looked WAY to smooth to be from someone new to
Vita) could be making this as a fall release, bouncing off of the Ratchet Collection Vita release or something.

It's possible, the game was originally supposed to come out on Vita if the developers could get the Vita version running well enough. That said, it's been quite a while since the release so it's less likely than if this popped up months ago.

Into The Nexus and Ground Zeroes were streamed on PS Vita at E3.
