No matter how much the world wants to reject the US as a soccer nation, we made a strong showing this cup. Got out of the group of death, gave a solid effort against a strong Belgium team, and overall looked the part. As long we keep progressing I'll be happy. It's dumb to say you're better than a team in another group. The world cup rankings pretty much fall apart outside the top 4 cause of the tournament structure. Italy are better than the US but had a more difficult group. No one would ever argue that Algeria are better than Portugal in the same way..
