Internet radio. No one cares. He HAS (they have) been fired from like 4 radio stations. Most famously for reporting that the mayor of Boston had died, which is why he's barred from* (you can still get his show here if you want) in the state of Massachusetts.

No one will call him out on it because this is what he's known for. It's like getting mad at Howard Stern for the way he talks to women on his show, it's part of the persona.

Newsflash, some people just don't want you taking their picture and will act poorly when you press the issue. See that story about the 16 year old Ballerina in Times Square taking photos for her portfolio who was harassed by a random photographer also taking pictures, which resulted in said photographer getting into a fight with her dad.
victim blaming

opie/anthony are total pieces of shit, though.

If I shoved a camera into your face, you'd be okay with it? I mean, its legal right?

She didn't have to lose her shit but at the same time she thinks this guy is perving on her.

If someone was photographing me without my consent, I honestly would probably feel weird or upset about it. I would walk away, and if they kept following me all the way home or to wherever I was headed, I might threaten to, and eventually call the cops. But that's a much more extreme situation then what happened here. Is it that hard to walk away?

Rupee isn't saying he'd be okay with it, he's saying it doesn't matter if he'd be okay with it or not.

Ah I missed that.

We already know he called her a something offensive before the altercation and he went on twitter openly stating he should've pulled a gun on her. How do we know he wouldnt say the same to her then?

A verbal altercation does not automatically invoke self-defense.

http://selfdefenses.com/forcespray/SD-law.html

Sec. 35.10 Justification; use of physical force generally. The use of physical force upon another person which would otherwise constitute an offense is justifiable and not criminal under any of the following circumstances:

6. A person may, pursuant to the ensuing provisions of this article, use physical force upon another person in defense of himself or a third person, or in defense of premises, or in order to prevent larceny of or criminal mischief to property, or in order to effect an arrest or prevent an escape from custody.
Whenever a person is authorized by any such provision to use deadly physical force in any given circumstance, nothing contained in any other such provision may be deemed to negate or qualify such authorization.

Now I'm not saying either person would really know this unless they studied law at one point, but self-defense is applicable in only situations that escalate past verbal argument.

If she walked away and didn't let it bother her so much, we wouldn't be discussing it.

I've had to acclimate to seeing so many cameras in Times Square and the MTA buses of all fucking places, but you don't see me losing my shit and chasing every tourist with a camera.

It's become a very common thing to see a camera in NYC everywhere. Personally, it feels like being in City 17 from HL2.

Those are stupid stunts but they are taken out of context. They knew that homeless guy and helped him out financially before and after that incident.

The sandy kane thing was also not a big deal as they gave her money afterward and she continued to use that guitar for years. She still does the show (she was on this week) and appreciates all the exposure they have given her.

I remember when they got banned for that asian skit. Didn't know they were still around. Then again I don't have XM nor do I care.

The bloggers are wasting their time with this one, they won't even get an apology. They do a bit on their show seeing if we can go for 10 days without a high profile apology.

Patrice you son of a bitch, we need you to weigh in.

I think Patrice would agree that Anthony is being racist about it, but also that he's right to be pissed.

Also, hard to tell but the girl looks pretty hot. Maybe she's self absorbed and thought he was perving on her. Looks like she wants to start shit based on this pic, she's got the finger wag already going lol:

It would probably go something like this:

bill's great, and is married to a black chick, so he has even less time for bullshit than usual.
It's not like Bill's a paragon of enlightenment (last podcast he suggested to one of his callers that was having trouble with his son's behavior, who may or may not have a developmental disorder, to encourage his son to continue to smoke weed :deadrose), but I appreciate him because he's a genuinely well meaning guy who is always willing to check himself whenever he says something out of turn. It makes him infinitely relatable and is something Anthony has never understood.

You know, people need to remember that maybe you should just call a friend if you need to vent, not let hundreds/thousands of people in on your anger. I guess its good for the general public because it outs bigots.

they trade humiliation for a couple hundred bucks because they need it that badly. they aren't in on the joke and are being treated like trash.

Not a chance. This isn't any worse than anything else he's actually said on the air.

Why are people so excited to get other people fired?

Just live your life.

The world loves publicly embarrassing and demoralizing racists, if that NYC racist thread with the 2 kids was any indicator.

You just *know* he was probably pointing the camera at her, snappig pics with the intention of posting them with a caption like "look at this negro animal out in the wild, I can't believe they let them on the streets," or something. Probably muttered it under his breath too. I doubt she attacked him unprovoked.

He seems so proud of the fact he didn't shoot anyone lol. Thank goodness he felt his hands were tied because he's white and thinks white people never get away with shooting black people (lol wut).

Yeah it's shitty that people are in these situations but who else is helping them? Certainly not the government. Or me.

Sandy kane would have more dignity if she didn't go on O&A and get made fun of for money. Would she have a home? Would she be able to make a living in times sq as the naked cowgirl if O&A fans didn't know her and pay to take pictures with her?

It really seems like he thought, "Whoa, that woman is hot, let me snap a picture of her for safe-keeping." I don't see any alternative, really.

I don't know, maybe he is an asshole.

But the times Louis CK has been on the show it's been fun to listen to. That and I like Jocktober for some weird reason

He's very racist. He's said many times before that he doesn't find black women attractive at all.

I dunno why he took that pic. He bought an expensive camera recently and now he's Mr. Photograph so maybe he just thought it would be a good New Yorky picture.

How does Howard talk to women on his show?

On no one particular day, "Hey baby, why don't you take off your shirt".

It's a bit, I get it, but it was controversial and not okay for the time period when he was doing it. I don't even know if Howard Stern is still like that anymore I haven't listened to him in almost a decade.

How exactly is that victim blaming? Are you saying Anthony Camia is the victim here?

He hasn't been that way in almost a decade. He treats women with respect and doesn't deserve to be mentioned alongside these two douchebags.

Well, he was the one that was physically assaulted. Or are you saying that there are some people that just because of what they say or wear should be assaulted?

Are you saying that because he claims he was assaulted that it is okay for him to be a racist?

you don't have any rights to stop someone from photographing you in public.

Patrice would shit all over Anthony, and probably would of gotten the woman on the show to shit on Anthony. Ant is a right wing gun nut, he has guns in every one of his rooms, he's also pretty paranoid.

Well, he was the one that was physically assaulted. Or are you saying that there are some people that just because of what they say or wear should be assaulted?

Are you saying that just because of what people say or wear they should be harassed on the street? If someone jumps in your face with a camera while you're walking home and just starts taking multiple pictures, you're just going to silently walk by?

Like I said before, if that's the one picture he got of that woman, he had been framing her up for a minute. She is charging him in that photo. This isn't a simple case of taking your phone out and snapping a quick photo.

But whatever, personal space and general respect. Fuck it right? Who cares, we have the RIGHT to be assholes to people in public, and fuck what other people think.

He hasn't been that way in almost a decade. He treats women with respect and doesn't deserve to be mentioned alongside these two douchebags.

To be fair, the only frame of reference I have of Howard Stern is from his NBC days when he was having porn stars in the office sitting on subwoofers and doing things with sausages and whatnot. Considering he's prime time family television now, I'm not shocked to hear that he's changed his tone.

Are you saying that because he claims he was assaulted that it is okay for him to be a racist?

In general it is OK to be racist as long as you are not discriminating against someone for hiring or the like. People are free not to listen to his show or follow him on twitter.

But absolutely no reason for physical assault.

Its been difficult to listen to Anthony talk about race for a while now. He's really gone off the deep end during Obama's second term. Unfortunately, this probably isn't even some of the worst shit hes said. His Twitter feed is a mine field of shit that would get most people fired.

Indeed. I mean, its fucking hard because I grew up listening to these guys and I've slowly seen Ant isn't playing around. Dude is full on fucking racist.

if you take a picture of someone in public and they assault you, you're the victim. it doesn't matter if -- news flash -- some people will react badly to having their picture taken, and it doesn't matter if he's a piece of shit. also, I find the victim blaming meme a bit annoying, so I relish in the opportunity to spread this rash to other people.

It's been a shame to watch Ant go from "guy who occasionally makes racial jokes" to "guy who shoehorns in racist tirade at the first opportunity every day". He's legitimately the funniest guy on radio, but it's almost impossible to listen to him anymore.
