Or maybe refs could actually punish foul plays more aggressively, then maybe we'd see a lot less of it.

Matuidi and Zúñiga not getting red cards and being punished for several more matches is far worse for the sport than Robben or Neymar overselling a foul.

Not sure about that, because then we won't get goals from fouls, which are usually wonderful!

We'll always have fouls, at least until FIFA does something to punish cynical fouls (I'd love to see a foul limit per team).

Either way it'd be nice if players didn't have to leave the field like this (or worse):

I haven't been this nervous about a football match my whole life. I just hope that Messi delivers more than Robben, that RVP has another awful match and that somehow our defense becomes good.

Does people believe this shit?

BROKEN back means you can't move a finger. Fractured in the other hand ....
Uh, "broken" and "fractured" mean the same thing in medical terminology. You're probably confusing severe cervical spine injury (can't move a finger there) with other spinal column injuries.

This talk about Neymar even possibly being available later on made me think of a transverse process fracture. If FIFA.com's quote of the team doctor is accurate, then Neymar sustained an L3 TP fracture ("ominous" says the FIFA article, LMAO). A TP fracture is not ominous. Vast majority heal without any operations or even spine immobilization like braces. I doubt the spinal cord is even in danger. But sending someone in immense pain from bone injury to play? Incredibly stupid IMO.

Yeah, he'll be up and running soon.
Just not during the WorldCup.

In other news, the Dutch team has to leave their current hotel soon. They were only allowed by the FIFA to reserve their current hotel until the Semi-Finals. The reason? The footballer players have to move for high-ranking FIFA sponsers, who will attend the Semi-Finals and Finale.

Looks like it's raining on wednesday in Sao Paulo. Not sure if that really benefits either team, but it'll definitely make the game more difficult, especially if the pitch is soaked.

FIFA really are a bunch of cunts.

Reports are, Neymar may risk playing in the final should Brazil beat Germany.

Surely this is rubbish?!

Wrestler Shawn Michaels wrestled Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 14 with a similar injury.

I'm told it's possible but extremely dangerous. They can give him painkilling injections or something.

Surely he shouldn't risk it though...

Well they announced Marco Rodriguez from Mexico will referee the Brazil game. Same guy who supposedly didn't see the Suarez bite.

Neymar playing would also give the player set to cover him a big disadvantage. He would be restricted from even touching him or approaching him physically.
I wouldn't want such a precedence. Send a wounded striker out so he has an aura of "untouchability"

Never Forget

Although I don't remember it since I wasn't born until September of that year :p

I remember that world cup in 94! My dad and my uncle were so pissed when Mexico lost to Norway in the first game, hahaha, I still recall their yells of anguish and anger when Zague missed that goal and hit the post instead!

The Mexico away one was ugly as hell! But it had the cool/ugly motif going for it, haha, but the home one rocks, I think. Anyone here have the home USA kit or the Germany away?
