'The Last of Us: Remastered' coming to PS4, July 2014, [1080p, targeting 60 fps]

It's "would have" or "would've"

What's with the recent retarded difficulty of knowing this? Our schools really this bad nowadays?

Irony in the extreme. It's "Are" only. The proper form would be "Are our schools..." or "Are schools...."

Edit: And double post.

Aside from what Krayzie mention, you should learn the types of "combos" that you can do. For example, you'll stagger an enemy if you throw a brick at them, after that you can run up to them and punch them and they'll drop to their knee, if you aim your gun after that you'll get a free auto-aim headshot. So you'll only spend one bullet to kill an enemy instead of wasting multiple shots. And if they're near certain objects you'll be able to do a string into a melee kill without having to waste any ammo at all.

Wow. I'm pretty sure I never did that intentionally in two play-throughs. So, brick (or bottle?), followed by melee, followed by aim + fire? Sounds awesome.

English isn't everyone's first language, contrary to popular belief.

And "would've" and "would of" sound the same spoken out loud. No need to be an ass.

Edit: oh I guess you didn't mean it nvm

Jesus, that lion one would have been scary as fuck.

I was thinking the same.

Man, I'm listening to the lossless soundtrack right now. Amazing. Brings back so many memories. It's sad that the game I'm most hyped about at the moment is a port, isn't it... And yes, I'm also looking forward to Destiny. But simply not as much as to TLOU.

Yup and really take your time and try to plan out routes. Avoid fights where possible (use bricks & bottles as diversions to get past infected). Playing with a good pair of headphones also helps a lot. Make use of your actual listen mode, ie your ears :)

my sennheisers are ready

thanks, i don't think i knew that at all my first play through

Use shivs for locked doors only and use rags and alcohol solely for Molotov's and you'll be fine

Its been a while since I played TLOU multiplayer. Is there an option to add a clan tag next to your name in game?

I'd like to team up with people from GAF. Hopefully someone will create a TLOU PSN ID exchange thread so we can play as a team.

Also if you do the same thing but have a melee weapon its always a one hit kill, so brick, run up to them, 2x4 to the head.

To be fair that's a mistake only native speakers will do.
I'm with you speedofnuts, i often find myself wanting to reply to people here just to correct it but i don't. It's so pervasive now I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the correct way to say it sometime in the future.

There wasn't an option in the PS3 version.

I've only played through the game once on Normal w/out LM when it first came out. My launch PS3 barely survived the playthrough and I figured a Remaster was coming, anyway.

Think I'll go hard w/out LM this time.

I know, I was just wondering if that's still expected given there hasn't been any new footage of Remastered. I should have worded my post a bit more clearly.
I would assume so but they also may still make use of LoDs so they'll only be that detailed when close to the camera.

4 times here. No Listen mode/Hard is the best experience. I didn't care for Survivor and probably won't touch Grounded.

Yeah, here's one of the designers talking about how it works

That's from the Grounded documentary, so people that haven't played it should just avoid that for now. But definitely watch it once you've finished the game.

Damn these would have been awesome. Would have been a cool class of enemies to have been implemented into the game. Could have a group of infected monkeys that cluster in groups and they would move around the environment, climbing the walls and ceilings. A infected lion would have played as a cool "boss" fight.

Hope we see these in the next game.

yea thats sounds good. Game definitely needed more infected vs human moments. For example half life 2 handled the combine vs the rebels really well in the later stages. Naughty Dog should have studied HL2 XD

having infected animals would have made the gameplay more diverse...I guess they couldn't add them due to ram limitations?

I always wondered
why the giraffes or any other animal besides lab monkeys didn't get infected or at least slaughtered by the clickers. We have this amazing scene of peace, nature reclaiming the world, animals grazing... It's odd the clickers would only go nuts towards humans

Well, it makes sense
they only go nuts towards humans if they can only infect humans. Since you never see any infected animals, you can assume the fungus doesn't affect other species. The artwork could indicate the fungus is mutating to affect those other animals, or it could just be an idea left on the cutting room floor.

IIRC, some scientist had kept some monkeys in a cage who were infected. Although that cld be due to their genetics being nearly identical to humans.

I'm surprised not to see anyone mention the superbness of the game's sound design. The sounds the clickers made were fucking terrifying. Oh and what a beautifully orchestrated soundtrack. Suited the game so amazingly well. I always advice anyone to play this game with a good old pair headphones.

I believe that's just fan art. I don't think ND had any real plans for full-on clicker animals, as cool as that would be.

One reason they probably didn't go in that direction is because it helps reinforce the whole "Nature" reclaiming the earth theme.

That definitely leaves room for crazy shit to introduce in the sequels though. I don't care what the explanation would be, bring it on Naughty Dog!

Has everyone already forgotten about the audio log where the Colorado scientist is bitten by an infected ape? Animals in this universe are definitely capable of infecting humans and the opposite is likely true.

EDIT: I didn't think through the human-ape genetics angle of it, that might explain things. I feel like that plot detail is straight out of the intro to 28 Days Later.

Everyone has already forgotten about the spoiler tags. No biggie I guess but no need to spoil anything even if it's tiny details.

I'm planning to go digital. How many gigs are we expecting here? 50?
There def sld have been a preload for this. Its a frickin sony exclusive.

Well I took it, though I may be remembering wrong. That animals could carry the infection, but as far as we know they didn't "mutate".

Some people like a challenge, frustration and all.

There's a difference between challenge and deliberately being handicapped just to rely on "luck" to progress. I don't mind challenge no matter how difficult it is as long as the tools provided can be heavily relied on my agency; but, if you cheat my experience with Godlike AI and heavy limiters just so you can pad out the game longer, then it is an irrelevant obstacle that serves no purpose other than to test your patience. I hope the "Grounded" mode fits the former part of my description.
