I'd be shocked if they weren't reset. I understand your reticence but it doesn't really take that long to get back to Level 8.

I got a warlock that's got 155 defense, a 62 attack cydonia AR and I can probably shoot a titan 5 times before he even sees me and all he has to do is shoot back and kill me in half the time. It's a joke man.

If they do reset it, it won't really matter that much because most people hit the level cap and did most of what there was to do and got most of what there was to get within two days.

It's not, in my experience. Uncommon ones are a little more rare, I guess, but then, I've had 3-4 of them just from random engram drops. I think some people may have tossed them out at first glance, and are now trying to find them since ARs are pretty good in PvP.

Yes. I can't say how many times a Warlock or Hunter got the drop on me only to come out dead and empty handed in the end while I still have a bit of life left in me.
Also, the Cydonia Auto Rifle certainly helps.

I wouldn't count on progress carrying over. Keep yo expectations low.

Pulse rifle needs a damage bump. Ridiculously under powered compared to the assault rifles
 
Any tips on getting green level 8 gear when you're already level 8? Trying to max my defense and it's difficult. 25 hours playtime and still not a complete green set.

So we don't actually know? I know it's not a big deal, but I think I'd rather work on my backlog and wait for the game proper if everything's getting reset.

I'm already sold, the game is fantastic. I preordered the digital super balls out edition.

I play as Warlock and I do pretty great in PvP. From my experience, all classes do pretty well. I usually zone people out into where I want them with my Vortex grenades and take them out quick and easy with auto rifle headshots. Works like a charm.

Usually during my bad streaks, it's because of me and not the class. Sometimes you just gotta take a break and hop back in later.

Edit: And in terms of head-to-head, same story. All about player-skill and weapon choice, in my experience.

I agree with the visibility part. I often don't notice them on others, and even under scrutiny it's difficult to discern much detail. Hopefully arm bands will be more elaborate and visible post beta.

It is the norm for beta progress to not carry over, if anything was going to be different they would probably have said otherwise.

Can't say i've observed any of that really.
The only (semi)intelligent things i remember the AI doing are:
-Going into cover when attacking from long range. An improvement over Halo where the AI usually didn't do anything about long range attacks... The AI doesn't stay in cover though, i can have a lot of patience.... Nor does it respond to long range attacks.
-Fallen Stealth Vandals executed a mad mass rush at me (the moment they saw me and i saw them upon entering an area) and actually beat me (but this has worked only once). The only reason it worked was because the AI's bullet sponge nature, i couldn't neither shoot them nor melee them fast enough. When Dregs or lowly Hives do that, i can simply melee each enemy in turn, and the AI does not retreat from my onslaught. I guess the AI could be called intelligent on the account of being clearly aware of its unfair strength... but that doesn't make the game very fun. EDIT note that they didn't have any ranged support or anything else either, so the charge was a bit random.
EDIT the Fallen captains teleporting away from danger is common but i wouldn't call it intelligent thing, just a evasion. The method of evasion is irrelevant. And i seriously expect dodging being a basic behavior in any game's AI, not an example of "intellgence".

Destiny's AI hasn't given me a very good challenge, nor given me impression it is intelligent. The biggest, and lamest challenge comes from the bullet spongy enemies. Halo has some bullet-spongy enemies but outside Reach, they never really bothered me. Nor have bullet-spongy enemies bothered me in other shooters... but in this game... ugh.

It's doing more in those gifs than it does in my game. Fallen stand still, Captains will occasionally teleport once their shield is drained, but that's it for them. Thrall rush no matter what and every one else just stands there for the Hive. The only enemies that have actually been aggressive and smart for me have been the ones that are ??.

Why why why am I so terrible at PvP? Lol. I played 2 games of iron banner and left. I really want to get better but I dont know if I will ever get above a 1.0 K/D ratio.

Still a fun game. Maybe I should try a new class. Unbelievably, still have only used one class
 
people having trouble with multiplayer. AIM FOR THE HEAD. I think ive noticed that you do DOUBLE the damage when you hit people in the head. Just like Halo, going for the head should be priority.

So essentially it's pointless to reset, all it would do is sour people in the experience. Old Russia is not that exciting especially if you do it all over for a third time (or more with rerolls)

The most interesting things I've observed the AI doing:
- When zoomed in with a scout rifle a vanguard briefly exited cover, appeared to taunt me, and then quickly returned to cover

- On rare occasions packs will scatter (or attempt to scatter) and scream if I throw a grenade from long distance

As a Hunter, 1 v 1 against a Titan means I need to beat him to the punch. If I can get two shots on him first, I may win it....I still think it's weird that the guns are shared between classes.

Someone posted a photo of a higher level Warlock Bond that had an image (sun disk?) projecting out of it. It seems like Warlocks will have to wait until higher levels to get something that stands out.
 
Alright. So I'm going to go ahead a put this on me for being completely obtuse, but how in the living hell do you get to the PvP multiplayer portion of the beta?
 
OK, i found something interesting.. im not sure it means something or not..

There is a dead ghost (can be revived with the square button) in each area of the tower. I've found 3, but i can't find the one in the hanger.. (if it even exists?) so i have 3. i assume there's 1 in the hanger so there's 1 in each area.. anyone know about this?

second, me and my friend managed to glitch over the fence in the hanger area, and i could land in the area where ships land.. was pretty cool!
