Indeed.

OK, these are cool as hell.

Nah, I don't think PS4 games do that

Indeed they do actually. Just choose the game on the library, hit down and it loads a unique background / music / theme for each individual game.

My time passing before Destiny will work a bit like this.

July 22nd ( today ) : Oddworld
29th : TLOU

August : Plants vs. Zombies , Hohokum, Diablo 3

Diablo 3 alone could feed me into Destiny, but I want PvZ and Hohokum too.

What? That was one of the best things about PS3's XMB.

Sometimes it's really cool, but have you ever tried to delete a digital game that has that feature? If the game is huge, you have to hear that music the entire time the file is deleting, which in some cases takes long enough to get really annoying.

what class is that for?

It's an unlock in the warlock sunsinger sub class.

Basically the one complaint I has during the alpha/beta was not being able to ADS when gliding. This will solve that problem. Just imagine in PVP being able to glide and aim, picking out head-shots from across the map.

edit: beaten to a pulp.

My bungie account used to say to check back on the 23rd for my Xbox one beta keys, but just checked it now and it is saying to check back on 22nd(today) for Xbox one beta codes. What's the chances of us Xbox owners getting to play a bit of destiny today?

Very low... since the servers are not up.

bungie.net still says come back on the 22nd for the xbox codes, hope we can download it tonight a day ahead.

Balanced.

This is what I came here to ask. Should we expect codes at 10am PDT today?

I'm so glad that the level cap is only 20. Really looking forward to the endgame so the less bar filling necessary to get there the better.

Yep. Really curious how long we can stay in place though. If it's not at least 3 seconds, it'll be hard to justify picking that passive over a different one in that column of skills (assuming that column is also a "pick one" set), though I'd ideally like 5 seconds. 5 would probably be too overpowered though.

Me not touching PVP confirmed, lol.. sounds frustrating.

OK guys I'm ready to admit it, I'm addicted to this game, man to think in spended most of my play time just messing around in the tower now I just want to play one more round.
August is going to be a rough month..

The booklet list is:

Earth: The Tower, Old Russia.
Moon: The Accelerator.
Mars: Zone of Exclusion.
Venus: The Citadel, The Academy.

It also lines up with the main bases for each faction, Earth=Fallen, Moon=Hive, Mars=Cabal, Venus=Vex.

If this turns out to be true, could the expansion be complete? Could all of the other locations we've heard about such as Old Chicago, be apart of the expansion? Could they sit on all of this content for a year after Destiny's release, only to release it for more cash while they concentrate all resources on the development for the sequel? :O

Maybe I'm just being wayyyy too optimistic, but I'm thinking they'll finish early and the beta will be back up by this evening.

Way too optimistic

Yeah now we get this music that puts anyone to sleep.

Actually now that I remember. Didn't that happen with Killzone at gamescom when Yoshida was demoing the game? I could of swore when he went to the game on the UI it had music and background art. I really hope they didn't get rid of that.

Don't be surprised if it turns out to be 6pm tomorrow. I know what the website says, but Bungie has also said that codes won't be sent until the day the beta is supposed to go live on your respective platform.

damn

i was hoping theyd let us download it before it begins to avoid another outage

Every game has unique background, theme, music, etc. You just have to hit Down when you are on the game in the main selection section ... not sure what the official name of that area is lol.

Well...Activision
So

I just hope it's enough content so that I don't get bored of looking at the same stuff.

I feel just a little robbed (though I love the game dearly) that Bungie kept claiming "You can explore the Solar System!" When really it's just 3 out of 8(9) planets and a moon.

Not too optimistic at all, at least according to the thread over at Reddit. Somebody inspected the javascript source and found some secret sauce. Codes go out today at 19:00 UTC, is what I would say if this was that Reddit thread.

I would like to voice my support for those wanting an audio indicator for when your grenade/melee/knife is ready.

Here's the reason: the the throwing knife. It's often that I find myself doing a melee attack when I meant to throw a knife because out of the corner of my eye I think the knife bar has filled up, but it's actually very close and not quite there.

I'm the opposite with the knife. 99% of the time I think my knife isn't ready, shoot then melee, but they were already dead so my knife flies flying away. I like how the warlock doesn't drain if you don't connect.

I like optimism, but at the least it'll give us xb1 owners a chance to download the 12gb and have a full run at it once the servers go back up

There was NO lag for me during the Alpha. During the Beta it has been brutal and that's putting it lightly. Not sure what changed, but I'm guessing it's the increased load.

Are they not using dedicated servers and relying solely peer to peer matchmaking? Sadface if so.

I don't know what kind of space magic Bungie are using, but I'm in NZ and was expecting lag...and haven't seen one rubber band, or piece of laggy death/killtime.

There was one Titan that refused to take damage, but I'll put that one time down to the Moon Dust Hustle, as it were.

Pretty much.

All this info comes from a booklet they sent to a prominent youtuber. Had to fucking pause to read each of the booklet's pages as he scrolled through them.

Ah, in the booklet they compare the hive to Mass Effect's husks.

Is this inobvious in the gameplay? The Thralls are pretty much carbon copies of Husks (there is even a mission in ME that uses the same enemy type and calls them Thralls), complete with critical hit point that makes them dissolve into glowing flakes. I am not holding either franchise to some gold standard of science fiction ingenuity / unique creation. They are both drawing from works that have come before them and in some places they are exceedingly lazy.

Warlock's Sunsinger subclass. I'm looking forward to that skill as well.

Perfect & thanks for the responses!
I know the Warlock doesn't get a ton of love in here but I'm loving it.

Oh really???? Nice then!!!!!

yeh its basically the same effect games had on the PS3 XMB when you hovered over the game and the background would change to the games specific background with music and such playing.

It is a bit more in-depth now though as each game has its own " recent activities , related items, more info " sections and various other things. Can rate the games, give em a thumbs up vote, etc.

Like Destiny for example is cool, it shows a leaderboard for you and your friends with various things like, " most strike kills, most crucible points in a round " etc. With your friends score and your rank in the list.

First thing I do with a new game is check out this section.

To be fair, a lot of enemies in Destiny dissolve into glowing flakes when they die depending on where you hit them. Kinda goes hand in hand with the T-rating.

But yeah, I agree that Thralls give off a distinctly Husk-like vibe. The other Hive enemies remind me of Collectors to a lesser extent, mostly due to their color scheme and the design of their heads/helmets.

Not only that, but it can be actionable by the user. For example Killzone puts a quick button here to launch you into your most recent MP game mode. So you can boot bypass menus and all and go straight to the activity of your choice.

I agree completely with the throwing knife bit, makes me both melee in thin air and at times waste the knife while in combat because I'm thinking it's not ready to be thrown when it actually is.

An audible notification may get annoying especially if you have skills that boost knife and/or grenade regen, so probably a different color icon or a brighter glow to indicate readiness?
