I like the idea of a training room. I like even more, the idea of a target dummy in there somewhere with infinite health (think wow target dummies) so you can test builds/specs.

i swear I remember seeing join fireteam from the inspect menu. Or do you mean, when you do select join fireteam it loads the whole joining orbit cinematic and reloads the world? instead of just switching you to the team seamlessly without loading anything?

If you are out exploring and go into a person's profile to invite them to a fireteam, or you are invited by them, you or they will be pulled out of the game, put into Orbit, and then fly back, with a ton of pointless loading.

Yeah thats what I was thinking.

Weapons are so different in all ways. Different scope styles, different handling / recoil, different reload speeds. I have to go out onto Earth surface to try out a different weapon.

Would be convenient just to head into a training room and go up against waves of enemies coming at you to try out your new gear in combat scenarios.

Yes please, I hate decrypting a new weapon and then having to go to orbit and then an explore instance just to test it.

ok yeah thats what i figured they meant, yeah seems very pointless. their orginal comment sort of implied that you just couldnt join them at all, or there wasnt an option. so i was confused.

Inviting or joining the fireteam isn't the problem, but when you join the team through R3, it takes you back to orbit and reloads the map or something. I don't know if this is a bug or a limitation with the way matchmaking is designed.

Hunters would be seriously OP in a supers only match. Assuming the supers were constantly ready to go, it'd end up being hunters only matches eventually.

That reminds me, are you able to unlock the 3rd tier of skills in the skill trees in the beta? I feel like they are stuck now. Combustion for the Golden Gun was at about 5 o'clock and the triple jump was at like 6 or 7 o'clock, and they'd been there for quite some time now. The trip mine grenade are much further along, like 9 o'clock I think, but that seems to be stuck around there as well.

Just throw it normal in between enemies, I'm sure they will run over it. Those nades though will be killer for multiplayer.
 
So um.. when is this beta actually online? Downloaded today and got welcomed with a "beta is offlline" screen, is it one of those "1 day a month" betas?

I wonder if you can still download the 12Gigs part now that the beta is offline... I have a code for my brother (ps4)

How many hours till the servers get back online?

I was going to say the exact same thing. Plus, I just like having melee on an actual button.

I kept my controls on default and the layout feels pretty much perfect to me.
 
While we're all waiting for the grand return, I wanted to share this again for those who may not have seen it.

Ran into a pretty hilarious glitch when fighting the Devil Archon on the first day of the Destiny Beta.

It was quite obvious he wanted one thing, and one thing only... A fierce DANCE-OFF! Who will be victorious??

I bet there will be a space combat mode some point in the future. Reach would have been a decent test-bed for that :)

I really hope they do it, anyway. For now, it's just cut scene cosmetics.
