I thought Silent Hill was pretty damn good. It captured the atmosphere of Silent Hill well, left the ending open, and had decent special effects. I loved that the story was a strange smattering of all of the games.

I guess I'm the only one unexcited about it being Joel and Ellie.

Not that they can't make a good film but it seems like an unnecessary rehash. I've experience Joel and Ellie's tale in its intended interactive medium. It feels like a step backwards to have it retold (which likely significant changes) in a 2 hour film.

I would have been more excited had it been a film set in "The Last of Us" universe with an entirely new story to tell.
