Also, if any MS representatives are reading this thread - Banjo Threeie. Do it.
Rare exclusives such as Banjo Threeie is the only way I would buy one
I mean, I already own an XB1 but, hey Microsoft, get on this.

The issue for me is quality not quantity. I think Nintendo has the best development studio(s) in the history of gaming and usually love their first party titles so the infrequent arrivals don't bother me. Galaxy 2 by itself justified the $100 I spent on a used Wii because that experience was so significant to me.
Not everyone feels that way, which is totally cool, and even Nintendo fans who game frequently would be better served with a PS4 or X1 as their only console. Wii U is the perfect supplement for those inclined who also don't mind paying for 2+ systems.
The PS4 has pretty much everything the XB1 has... and has a better system on top of it. I have no way to connect it with a live TV service... because I don't watch TV.
What else is there that the XB1 actually does better than the PS4?
Snip.
You have been calling out people who gave reasons for why they would not be purchasing your preferred console because you did not agree with them. You put words into their mouths claiming things that they said or insinuated things that were never actually said and then you issue blanket statements calling them "console warriors" when they dare to refute you. I think you may just be looking into a mirror here buddy.
Also, since it seems like almost 80% of people bought a PS4 because it's more powerful (looking at answers), I'd like to know one thing. Honestly, how many people would buy an Xbox Two over a PS5 if they were both the same price but the Xbox Two was more powerful?
It's really hard to paint someone the way you want them to look when you remove all context around anything they say, isn't it?
To answer your question about how I can call that cutesy video misleading; The video was misleading, because it implied that it was easier to share on the playstation than it was to be on the XB1. (no, i'm not interested in debating with you what the share feature was going to be like, before you start in on that). This was false, because I could more simply share with a friend who lives out of state using the XB1 sharing than I could by handing him or mailing him a disc. (nope, zip it. I don't care how you think sharing would have worked, nobody knew.)
Please show me a place where I called someone out for not buying an XB1. I'd like to see that because I don't believe I did. I DID call someone out for saying something retarded along the lines of "i hope the system fails" as I think competition is good for everyone. Hell, I know its been great for me as an XB1 owner because desperate MS has made some really nice moves for me.
I did call out that guy for saying he quoted me when he actually responded to what I said, but to the words he inserted into what I said on his own. I also called that guy out for yelling at me about RRoD when nobody had mentioned RRoD before he did. (go look back, like youre so fond of doing on me, and see that the guy I said needs to dust never once said RRoD) But again, thats not for not buying an XB1.
I did say generally, that everyone needs to get over the DRM bullshit. But that's not exactly calling someone out is it? I did say its not relevant because it doesnt apply to whats going on now, I know this, because I currently own an XB1 and I can assure you that MS stance has changed. I'm not so sure that your statement about all the wonderful thigns sony did is fact or if its really that they just did more status quo instead of attempting (poorly excuted and poorly explained) innovation.
I don't believe I attempted to represent anything that anyone said as anything other than exactly what I said, I understand quoting, unlike your buddy. I only responded to the words on the screen, not an interpretation of them.
The fact is, I poked at the "is it coming to pc" reason because there are plenty of reasons to not buy a game on pc and choose console, and because it equally applies to the PS4 non-exclusives. I guess that was too much like defending MS to be acceptable to some people.
But yea, I wont back down from using the phrase console warrior, just the sheer attack I've come under since questioning if it really would be better if sony had no competition justfies its use.
Microsoft lost their way simply put.
They essentially became Nintendo without Nintendos vast first party offering. You buy one for the exclusives and only the exclusives. Now you're probably thinking "hasn't this always been the case"? Well not really. Even during a dominating gen like the PS2 era, MS made a very compelling console that provided its consumers with tech leading games, superior multiplats, a wealth of Western exclusives, great first party and industry leading online play.
Fast forward today and PS4 (and PS3) leads the tech race, onlines are a wash minus PS+ offerings, they have all the western support the competition has and their first party stable has increased in quality substantially.
For me personally, buying a second console that's weaker than my first is very off putting, especially when the price is the same as the superior console. It would have to have a wealth of content to make me consider it. Beyond that I'm at a point where I can easily afford one but I would rather spend the money on a lot of other things (sound equipment, golf clubs, etc). And then there are numerous little grievances with the console that add up and further push me away from buying one like the shitty UI, controllers that need batteries, another online paywall, lack of any friends that own one making the community bare and desolate.
Do I still hold a grudge over 2013s screwjob? I would like to say "yes" for principles sake but I find myself more bitter with MS's treatment to its consumers post 2008 when they became complacent. MS had a real place in this industry back in 2001 but now I wonder what that is.
Brave words
PS4 doesn't do multitasking like the Xbone, nor does it have the same amount of apps available for it, nor does it have the same quality of online (just the voice chat itself is so much better on Xbone in terms of quality), fast game resume, snapping of apps is a revelation (wait until you start farming shit in Destiny, it'll get boring really fast so watching something else on the side will be useful), and the fact that the Xbone has gotten very fast software updates compared to PS4 and will get universal support for windows apps in the future.
On a computer screen looking at stuff on digital foundry you might see the difference, but on a tv screen it ain't that obvious. For me though it was all about the content, and on that front I always found Microsoft's franchises to be superior to Sony's (only ones I like are uncharted and God of War).
Power isn't the issue, but when both consoles give you pretty much the same thing, what else is there to measure? Honestly, the PS4 isn't that convincing either. Maybe in a few years when more varied exclusives are out there can be a definite veridict, but for now, the power of the PS4 and superior ports make it the better version. Also, since it seems like almost 80% of people bought a PS4 because it's more powerful (looking at answers), I'd like to know one thing. What is your purpose in this thread made for non-XBO owners? I'm not understanding what you're trying to accomplish here.
It's fine to love your XBO and be a happy XBO owner, but why exactly are you in this particular thread asking non-XBO owners if they will eventually get one?
This is a well reasoned and well stated argument for not buying one, and one that doesn't hang on to the DRM grudge which is beyond over.
Yeap... that what I mean... after 2009 the console stopped to receive support. At the beginning of the Ps360 generation there where quite a few great 360 exclusive JRPGs. Support for them died off later in the console generation but if they see a resurgence at any point in this gen I'm willing to get on board.

Fable Legends. Sunset Overdrive looks interesting,
Obviously opinions ahead but I see next to no value in a Wii U. It doesn't just have slightly worse multiplats, it has next to no multiplats. None of the exclusives really interest me beyond a passing glance. The game pad is kinda cool but useless if I have no games to play on it.
So many people rag on the X1 having slightly worse multiplats yet so many defend the Wii U with its apparent lack of any multiplats.
Also as others have said, Nintendo games (or any other exclusives really) have nothing on Halo.
Fuck no, why the hell should i support a company that tries to ruin what enjoy? Speak with your wallet. Besides the DRM is just one of many things.
We know they've apparently changed their policies but for many its still a trust issue.
Look at any other platform and you will see similar sentiments for different reasons. People skip on Sony systems due to payment/credit card issues. Other people skip on Nintendo because they don't like the account system. Those are all trust issues, some ongoing, some not that long ago.
Microsoft clearly have a vision of a DRM future, and people don't trust them not to bring it back in the next system. By which time they may already be heavily invested in the MS ecosystem, making it harder to turn around and say 'no' next time.
Trust is very hard to win back, and incredibly easy to lose. I think you are making a mistake in not acknowledging this and telling people effectively to "get over it".
Not just your Twitter:

Well I guess a new Lost Odyssey can make a buy one but I think JRPG devs will support PS4 this gen.

I understand superior multi platform games, I'm not stupid, but owing a PS2, Xbox and GC back in the day, I didn't get all multi platform games on Xbox by default, even though they were always superior.

Funny thing though, is why do people compare games like Forza and Driveclub or Halo and Killzone like all it takes is a driving game or a FPS, like it doesn't matter who makes it, as long as it's kind of similar it doesn't matter. IMO, who makes it and the fan following is important, and to me, Killzone is far from being in the same league as Halo. But apparently for some, it's just an FPS, so one or the other, for them it's the same thing. I just can't take that kind of post seriously. I also find MS' games to have better competitive modes and be more played in tournaments compared to Sony's games, so they have longer lasting appeal.

Not just your Twitter:
Well after the poor sales of all those JRPGs on Xbox 360 everyone kind of pulled support. Namco Bandai has no plans to bring any Tales game to Xbox One. If Xbox does get some JRPGs they'll probably be multiplat like KH3 and even then sales will more than favor the PS4 as it always has.
I don't really want to get involved in a DRM discussion, because if you think my opinions on this thread are unpopular now... lol. On that topic I will only say that I personally think the interwebs lost it's shit over it before anyone really had a good picture of what was going on, and a lot of noise was made about ownership of games by people who also bragged about how large their steam libraries were, which is funny to me.
Everyone just needs to stop feeding him. He's never gonna acknowledge he's doing/saying anything unreasonable. Responding to him or mentioning him just encourages him to keep posting. Let's all just agree to stop and wait for the inevitable mod intervention.

Only because Microsoft didn't have a clue what their plan was either. They said it would be possible to do one time trades, but gave no indication of how it would work. Gave vague information on a family plan, with no information how it would work and why it doesn't work without the DRM. It was vague, half-thought out ideas and, when pressed for more information, no one knew what the answers were. People lost their shit because a company the size of Microsoft had planned to make everything much less consumer friendly but had no positives or explanations to offer. They had between reveal and until they reversed the policies to explain, but never did.
Microsoft couldn't even paint a picture that we could see for their DRM stuff.I don't really want to get involved in a DRM discussion, because if you think my opinions on this thread are unpopular now... lol. The second part about library bragging is a weird straw man argument I've never heard of.
No, I wouldn't buy a used system. Who knows what the previous owners did with it.what? like a used one? Otherwise this statement is ridiculous.
I think it'd be a pretty good deal.$100? Are you kidding me?
