Can this PD be nuked from orbit?!

Its the only way to be sure.

The worst part of this is that as bad as the Ferguson PD is, you can bet your ass there are at least dozens like it or worse throughout the nation. It's only this one that's getting put on the spotlight for the time being, and it's been very educational how deep the rabbit hole goes and the all the disgusting tactics they try to pull. They even do and say this shit when the entire world is scrutinizing them. They truly have no shame.

Dude, really?
Racist gonna racist. Hard to change their minds when they firmly believe everything in absolutes which is not the case.

Does racism exist? Yep. Just look at that post. Is it everywhere? Nope. Is 1 account too many? YES.

We just can't have the mentity he has and have keep fighting against it by publicizing it and punishing it and doubly so when it is persons in authority that do it no matter which side it comes from.

Its 2014. We know it exists but shouldn't hold accountable the many because of the mistakes of a few. Its irrational and only breeds more hate. Maybe that's what he wants tho. Those who view the world in absolutes often utilize that logic in an effort to materialize what they believe. Its sad.

the latest riots are all on of Ferguson PD for re-igniting the flames with its selective info releases.

Marshall Law should be instated there and have the Fergusson PD revealed from duty until shit gets cleared by better trained enforcement agencies

No. The rioting is on the hands of those who choose violence over peace. Saying its in the hands of the PD would be like saying Brown's murder is his own doing because he allegedly struck the cop before running off. Its the cop's fault he chose violence to end a situation Brown was already done with by throwing his hands up.

Violence is is inexcusable. Show support for the man by peaceful protest and seeking justice, not retribution. It is a dangerous path.

Edit: before anyone gets crazy for my comparison, understand MORE violence isn't the answer to this situation, no matter the instigator. We should seek justice for flat-out murder, not fan the flames with vengeance. That attitude perpetuates hate, which we fucking need a lot less of.

You serious? After what is sure to be a mountain of threats against him and his family?

Or were you hoping for some mob justice?

Things like COPS and yt and whatnot make us all think that dashcams are standard equipment in all police cruisers. Maybe for larger departments, but I doubt a small suburban one is going to have them on every car.

Except this small town PD had actually cams ready to put on the OFFICERS, so I doubt they lacked ones for the dash.

Yeah, that was deliberate and calculated. I'm so glad they are getting called out on it, though.

Yeah, glad to see they're being called out on it, too.

They're trying to change the narrative here. Keyword is trying, because fortunately for us, it isn't working at all, since the narrative they want to tell ("Brown was a potential danger and tried to attack the cop") doesn't fit in with anything else that's come out.

Looking at it 24 hours later, especially with this DOJ news coming out (and DOJ is 100 percent in the right on this; they should not have released this info as it was irrelevant to the case at hand), it was about the worst possible thing they could have done.

And I really don't like police brutality, income inequality, the need for affirmative action, discriminatory hiring practices, the glass ceiling for minorities, stop n frisk, white flight, the lack of empathy for blacks in general, the private prison industry, disparities in arrest sentencing and conviction rates, the irrational fear most whites have of black people etc... Catch my drift? America doesn't know how to act and is drunk on stupid when it comes to black people, period. Whitey's gonna white unfortunately.

I have over 3 decades of anecdotal experience interacting with and hearing white people speak and study upon infinite study back up the pervasiveness of racist thinking and racist actions from the majority.
I'm getting close to 4 decades myself, and the shit is just so disheartening. I think I'm getting to the point where I'm just numb to it. Dumb racist shit isn't even a surprise anymore. It just like... oh there it is. Every time you try and give someone the benefit of the doubt, oh there it is. My fucking boss, a puerto rican, this week goes on this rant about how black people should get over it, we've been free longer than we were slaves (his math was 1776 to 1863 vs 1863 to 2014) and I was like...

hahahahaha even if Brown was guilty, it does not justify the multple shot fired after he was wounded.

as soon he was hit, stopped running then put his hands up.... he was in surrender mode and the cop should just have cuffed him then. The following multiple shots post his surrender were criminal and the trigger happy cop is the root cause of the riot. Lack of justice.

Read what I wrote again and see if you missed anything, FML.

Ugh...so my dad's reading Fox now, he's like "It's just more rioting and looting", so I mention how I'd watched the live stream, and it was mostly nonviolent and the protestors were doing their best to stop the looters

"Why are you defending them?"

So I just left it there. Not worth it.

I went on Facebook and one of my friends (who is white) was like why is everyone making this about race. This happens all of the time, blah, blah, blah.

And who can forget the racist ground swell following Trayvon Martin. SMH.

It's pretty disappointing how the articles about last night present themselves

Fox

CNN

MSN

Why can't they use pictures of the protestors protecting the stores or marching in the streets, but instead use pictures of the looters?
CNN sucks but credit where it's due: http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/16/us/missouri-teen-shooting/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 Ample coverage of the protesters and the headline on the video reflects the role they played.

Fox though? Holy shit. Check it if you're ready to suffer a stroke. Interestingly they closed their comments -- I'll assume it was a racist circus even they prefer to pretend isn't their norm.

Probably being naive, but the cop actually might not get away this time.

Well, if he does, that excuse of a police department better be ready for some hardcore public unrest. I dont think this is something that will just go away with time. Not something of this magnitude.

I really hope the right decisions are made....

What did that one poster say about racism again? It was in a quantum lock?

Probably being naive, but the cop actually might not get away this time.

I'm still not going to keep hopes up, but this department seemed to fuck up literally every part of this case so if there's going to be a time where justice is actually served it might be this one.

Yesterdays daytime and evening protests were reported on by the media. The overnight news, which you are seeing now, is defined by the looting. It isn't shocking that news that that happened overnight is taking precedence over older news from yesterday.

Someone at work said to me 'I'm just getting tired of hearing about this sort of situation every time, their people (I'm guessing he meant blacks) should just get used to the fact that they're gonna be shot, after all, they kill themselves enough.' I was fucking stunned as this came from one of the more progressive people. Sadly that's not the only racist thing I've heard at this workplace this week even. Smh, time to look for a new job I guess.

What did that one poster say about racism again? It was in a quantum lock?

Pretty much he said the issue was a police/civilian issue versus a race. I can see where he's coming from to an extent but I disagree:

Okay, so I have been reading articles and watching media reports on this whole Michael Brown shooting. Here is what really gets under my skin about this whole thing. When is the main stream media going to stop putting a racial spin on everything so they can make more money and of course to fuel the racial tensions in our country.
They only reporting incidents that are between a police officer and a civilian when it is between a white cop and a black civilian?!! There are so many incidents recorded by people with their phones of every race and color all over this country on the internet, where they have been harassed by police officers. Just like there are people of every race and color shot by police officers across this country as well all the time. If this was a black cop who shot a white civilian it wouldn’t even be on the main stream media.
This is not a black verse white issue, yet the media again is turning into one. This should be whether or not a police officer acted accordingly and within the limits of the law or not.
When are we as Americans going to quit buying into everything that is reported and twisted by the main stream media?!
Unfortunately I fear that even if the police officer is proven to be within his rights, no one will want to hear it at this point.

Probably being naive, but the cop actually might not get away this time.

Since they weren't all to lock shit down quickly, and they kept fucking up(stupid police chief, arresting reporters, COD level show of force), someone got to burn and the cop is low man on the totem pole.

I guess white people just aren't allowed to have opinions then...?

You guys realize even the president has expressed some of these sentiments, right?

everything in that bingo sheet is either dismissing what actually happened in one form or another or making it about looting/rioting instead, or is just super duper obviously racist. you can certainly think looting and violence isn't the answer (i feel that way) but realize that the situation at hand is repulsive and that things need to change.

as for obama, his job is to waffle around in the middle of every issue. if he came out and said he thought mike brown got gunned down in cold blood, it would set off mass pandemonium for sure. his words carry a ton of weight, even for those who don't support him.

I don't want to get all artsy far tie. ..but, re:chips...it speaks to how casual of a response it is. from routinely being a target of abuse from the PD/world.

I love it. It's like one second he's just munching on a tasty bag of chips and the next second he's throwing a tear gas canister back at his oppressors.
