Aside from it being the Undertakers old thing, and he and Leshnar not getting along, is there anything adding to the hilarity? The fact that he was crushing Cena whilst doing it?

The double whammy of mocking both Taker and Cena's "comeback" was pretty damn great.

I'd argue the product started going down in terms of personalities, both quality and quantity, from 2002 onwards. Roster took a dive in wrestling quality from 2005 onwards instead.

The mid 2000s era of WWE is one gigantic lost generation of wrestlers. So many of the stars from that period either went to TNA or left WWE on bad terms so they were all wiped from WWE history (and then there's the Benoit stuff). Then you have a bunch of new guys from OVW who came in and didn't get over. Remember the Smackdown New Talent Initiative from 2005? There were so many flops from that.

I think the only guys from the entire new talent/new superstar initiative that ran from 2005-2008 that panned out and stayed with WWE are Sheamus, Jack Swagger, and Kofi Kingston.

That main event was great for what it was supposed to be. I guess the problem is who Lesnar will face now. No one is going to make sense for a couple of months.

EDIT: If they're going to use the IC belt as their main title when Brock isn't on the show for seven weeks out of eight, maybe Dolph Ziggler shouldn't have that belt right now.

EDIT II: What happened to that Fozzy song being the official song? They didn't use it once. I honestly thought that was Jericho's one demand in return for coming back for two months.

I don't know what they are going to do with Brock in the upcoming months. If he just holds the title hostage and doesn't defend it, I can see a lot of people getting turned off. But is Brock really going to defend it for the seven or eight PPVs until Wrestlemania? Will he lose before then? Will he just vacate the title tomorrow after proving he could beat anyone at any time? Brock being the champ has a lot of potential, but it's hard to tell what would be the best program from now until Mania.

Brock NEEDS to show up at every PPV and crush his opponents leading up to Wrestlemania. They need to continue to sell this guy's dominance and lead into WM with a "Who can possibly defeat Brock Lesnar?" angle. Even then, I'm not sure you have him drop it just yet.

I'd say they should have Bork face Borton at Survivor Series and DraxTista at Royal Rumble followed by Bryan and Reigns at WM where he loses the title to Rollins or they could just combine all these matches into one HiAC match at WrassleMania 31.

Just finished watching. Oh my... John really got DESTROYED by Brock. It wasn't even funny. Yes, I felt Cena would lost but we all know it depends on "how" you lose. Cena didn't lose... he got the living crap beat outta him. I guess the commentators said it best, he got dominated.

Heh, I guess Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit and Goldberg were the only legitimate guys that matched up to Brock. Right now within the WWE roster, NO ONE can match Brock unless the fight rules were silly like No DQ, or anything that would create a dirty win.

It is setup for his return and a heap of "no you can't fight him, your neck will break!" type comments. Of course Bryan fights anyway...because that is the type of guy he is.

Only Bryan is fighting the Usos with his teammate Adam Rose. Cena beats Brock.

One of the best Summerslams in a few years. Loved the intensity of Cena Brock. Only match that could be thought of as meh was the Flag match between Rusev and Swagger.

My MOTN was the lumberjack match.

Flag match could have been great if they would have had a stipulation like capture the flag on the opposite corner type of thing. It still was a good match regardless. The biggest dud imo is reigns/orton because...meh. It picked up towards the end with orton carrying the match which he should have won the match but reigns getting that ultra push unfortunately :/

Assault and Battery is what that was. That man should've been arrested after leaving the arena.

Seeing cena get thrown around like that was great.

Can we get Cena not wrestling for 18 months first?

Why are the commentators so inept? Ambrose gets thrown to the outside, starts lamping the lumberjacks, who have been entirely passive until then. Ambrose gets thrown back to the outside, the lumberjacks start beating him down. Why is that, Michael Cole?

"The Shield didn't make many friends in the locker room."

No, it's because he just punched them in the face moments before, you fucking dimwit. It's a little thing but it highlights how the commentators aren't accentuating the story in the ring, they're making up one of their own.

It should also be noted that you could cement any number of wrestlers now by having them look at all competent against Lesnar. Have Ambrose get one psychotic flurry in and he's, well, a bit more popular than he already is. Have Cesaro do one show of strength on Lesnar and he's back on the map. Have Bo Dallas kick him in the shin and do a lap of honour and the world might explode.

Their entire philosophy or or "structure" for commentary is pretty dire.

Sorry. I cannot see it happening. Brook would really have to nerf himself for 3/4 of the match to make everything become awesome without ending quickly or risk Daniel making himself disabled. If he happened for real, the gif would be the results.

He's also scheduled for surgery and will be out another 3-4 months.. Putting him against Brock after coming back would be an incredibly stupid move.

If they would just turn Cena heel, it could be interesting to see a feud between the two. But Vince is to scared to do anything interesting with Cena :/

Issues with the long term booking aside I thought last night was a really good show. I have to give props to Russo and Steph who are both people I considered to be pretty bad/utterly terrible but ended up carrying their matches last night, managing to make them at least somewhat entertaining.

Bryan would turn every bork move into a submission. So it's an even match. Almost every move brock has in his book could be reversed into a bryan move. The match itself would be like chess.

Brawn vs Skill.

F5 is easily turned into a guillotine, German could have Bryan do his backflip (like Adrian Neville did on NXT this weak), or counter out of the hold.

It's 50/50 depending on how vicious bork does the move. Bryan could easily flip into his feet but also bork could work bryan's neck all throughout the damn match because storytelling...

The main narrative is Brock was never 100% back then and now he's 1000%. They've basically said scratch his old record.

Very happy Lesnar won and Cena got buried lol. Now HHH needs to think of some amazing feud for Lesnar that will lead to a good Hell in a cell match. I can't think of anyone tho. Nobody on the roster is ready for it right now. Maybe if someone from the past returns like Punk. They could do good feud with him, Heyman and Lesnar.

EDIT: Actually maybe Bray Wyatt would also be a good feud for Lesnar for next couple months. Since he has constant help that can hurt Lesnar and make it somewhat even lol. they can just jump Lesnar 3 on 1 week after week to build hype.

While I always like to see Cena lose, I'm not really sure where you go from here. Honestly half expecting Cena to just have a training montage and come back as Super Cena to win. At this point they've almost made Brock look too strong, where anyone beating him is going to seem questionable.

Opinions man, how do they work? So because I think its cheesy when the referee stops himself from calling the match, with the camera zooming in on his pained face while the commentary team talks about how its useless asking John to tap out, that makes me a Cena hater?

How is that "helping Cena"? The reason they had to go to that spot so much was because Lesnar had completely blown up and needed breathing space.

Roman Reigns is going to squash the fuck out of Lesnar at WM31. Cena as referee. Brock flips off both men and the WWE Universe before grabbing a mic and telling Vince to make his cheque out to cash.

It's going to be Big Show if he's ready to come back.

Yeah, I don't want it but it will be fun watching Bork throw Show around the ring.

Bray, like Cesaro, could have been a good feud but his stock has taken a major drop since Summerslam. I mean he got pinned clean with 1 Codebreaker a month ago and that's ignoring all the crap with Cena.

Bray is fine. He beat Jericho decisively last night and will do it again at the next PPV. The crowd were into his post-match promo. What he needs is to start changing up his routine. He still has the great delivery but his initial Wyatt Family shtick is getting too ordinary, it doesn't enthrall crowds like it did.
I'm not saying he needs a "gimmick change", just that he needs to change it up a bit. I am sure he has the talent and mind to do it.

WWE has a terrible problem of letting things get stagnant, that needs to not happen with Bray.
