I have a debit card that already does this...
I don't care about the barely touching thing.

I like that in a few years I'll be able to go anywhere carrying only my phone, or watch, and pay up for anything quickly.

Most phones will do this as well, soon enough. But I'm glad that Apple is pushing it, because that's how vendors get on board.

I wonder if we'll see cases of phones being stolen and using the card associated with it. It seems like it could happen but it depends on how security stuff is set up.
It uses TouchID. They'd have to steal your thumb. Also, if the phone is stolen, it disables it through Find My iPhone.

will it work offline if I don't have a signal when I buy something?
This. Do I need to rely on my internet?

Screw chip and pin. Fingerprint authenticated NFC future. Chip and pin is so damned slow for transactions.

Canada has nfc available at many stores, which lots of credit cards can use, or your phone. Also, chip and pin on credit and debit cards isn't hard at all to use.

So if someone goes to the bathroom and leaves their bag I can scan take a picture of their card from their wallet and can pay with it forever?

Guys you don't throw away your Credit Card when you hook it up. Please be sensible here, you can still use a plastic card or cash.

I'm still not sold on the *need* for mobile payments. You still need to pull something out of your pocket and scan it. I'll still need my wallet for ID, health insurance card, and emergency CC (dat battery) anyhow.

The one cool thing I like is the idea of a dynamic credit card number. I generate a 'temporary' number from Citi or Paypal if I ever buy something from a sketchy online store.

The good thing with apple pay is that now there's more adoption for NFC acceptance from stores.

I know CVS and 7-11 has had it for a while now

Unless your battery runs out... You know, something that never happens with that ultra difficult credit/debit card

Hopefully this increases support for wireless payments all round.
