Black front = space grey back (same as 5S, lighter than original 5)
White front = silver or gold back
I do like the darker look of the original iPhone 5 backing but clearly Apple doesn't want to mess with all of the easy color scratching that happened with that idea.

Thanks for the replies guys. I thought the back of the phones was really darker black during the presser but I guess not. Space Gray it is!

Unlikely until camera tech catches up and gets smaller. Apple's always going to want to make the phones thinner, and if that means the camera has to poke out - welp, then that's what they do.

I'm a daily runner, and wear a watch everywhere I go. My fitness watch cost more than $350. Granted, it has GPS built-in, and works for cycling, paddling, mountaineering, etc., but it also isn't nearly as easy to use as the Apple Watch appears to be, nor does it do a fraction of the things that it can do. It's price tag was closer to $500 when it was released.
They take a higher fee already in card absent transactions. Just look at rates for say Square with card present compared to card absent:

The lines make these phones look like they are wearing underwear briefs.
The rounded edges remind me of the nexus ones' smooth soap edges.
Pretty disappointed with the watch. My expectations (software/hardware/design) were much higher than what was shown, not to mention the delay to market until next year. I think they blew it with the forced iphone/watch necessity. After a couple of generations, the watch might be worth buying, but the forced iphone tether is a no go.

But my phone has been awful the past 6 months (under iOS7), so I'm not sure if my phone is just close to death.

The back lines are incredibly ugly. Especially the one that goes over the camera and one on the bottom. I was really hoping the leaks were off about the back. It's my biggest gripe, mostly cause I can't see past it.
Did they explain their reasoning or inspiration?

I am guessing that the purpose is that they're antenna windows and the inspiration comes from the iPhone 4's antenna break lines, a theme evolved since then.
I agree they're ugg. But I mean. We have a golden iPhone by now. Bigger fish to fry than some lines.

The antennas' design were on my mind, but there had to be a better way to present the back, either from the cover's material or colors. Something that doesn't look like a couple of steps back from conventional modern ethos, some which they popularized themselves. I hope I can get used to it because I'm due for an upgrade, and unless the next Nexus blows this out of the water, I'm going with 6+.
Tried a whole bunch of different music-ID services and they all pull up nothing. Seems custom or maybe some unreleased remix.

As I don't use an fugly silicon cover my phone is always just lying around on the table, and I find it silly to have it not lying flat but all wobbly. And I would be worried about it breaking more easily as it's an obvious stress point when pressure is applied, less of a problem when its lying flat and the pressure is distributed along the entire phone.
And its just ugly.
Do you use it while it's lying lat or something?
It's not going to wobble just sitting there.. and what is this about applying pressure and it breaking? Obvious "Stress point"? What in the world are you doing to your phone while it's flat on a table? lol
It's entirely feasible to put your phone down on a flat surface and still use it for virtually anything.

I wonder how much thickness the official Apple covers (Both the plastic and leather one) add to the phone. If it's just the same thickness that the camera adds anyway, then I have no problem with a cover.
But without a cover, yeah, I'd be bugged too. But come on, it's not the first smartphone that had a camera that stuck out. Another company had one that they also didn't count in their thinness specs. The camera does have motors for movement you know. It probably requires a bit more space.

i sold my 5s recently and have been rocking this
its not pretty, but it does the job and only cost £15. if i didnt have my ipad mini i'd probably cry
to update, i have 2 bars of battery life left, it really might make it until i get my 6
