Final Fantasy XV TGS 2014 Trailer | Lord Nomura giveth us His only Son so we may live

Mature? I highly doubt that?

If you were mature, you wouldn't worry about being mature. The bolded line particularly makes you seem like a teenager trying to convince his/her parents that they are not a child anymore.

BTW, not saying you have to like the game or characters.

people are strange

Can you only control one character?

There's been previous footage where you directly controlled the other guys. No idea if that will apply to the final game.

He can't teleport stuff.

He has to throw the sword and then catch up to it, I think.Or throw the sword then teleport with it midair.

His body's speed is what allows teleportation or the actual sword is integral to the teleportation.

There's been footage where he just teleports short distances in combat.

Again, this is a very interesting video that might highlight a lot of things you may have missed from trailers. (Granted, like I said, things may or may not have changed in the interim, etc)

hope this is announced for PC soon, I don't think either PS4 or Xbone are doing this game any justice

Yea, if it was PS4 exclusive no doubt it would actually look incredible. I'd give it
about 6 months to a year after the console versions before it releases on the PC
Similar to how GTA V was handled.

You've both read that wrong. In fact is was specifically stated to not be because they're too mature for it. Just outgrown in general or moved on. Kind of like I am for Resident Evil and also MGS to a certain extent

probably not, you can get thousands of dynamically animated blades of grass on not super powerful hardware

it doesn't look like it's using softbody physics or inverse kinematics

That's not necessarily right, blades of grass that move in predictable patterns in a fixed spot are different from actually rendering thousands of individual bits of hair independently from a moving object like a head. its very CPU dependent, or GPU dependent if your using GPGPU.

This made my jaw drop. I hope the actual combat is as smooth as it looks here.

Is the bouncing off your buddies thing a new mechanic or is that just some random animation during battle?

Either way, it looks badass.

I'll probably do the same even if I'm not that bothered to actually try the demo itself. The fact that one exists shows signs of progress which is what makes me more excited! I'll just mess around briefly then play Type-0

i'm guessing scripted like the Garula being knocked down. I'd be surprised if they were part of the actual game

I dunno, it seems too short to be scripted, the same thing happened with Noctis and Prompto later in the trailer.

I swear to Christ, new Final Fantasy footage does strange things to a gaffer. No longer do we respond to complete sentences, just odd words.

After hearing my best mate talk about this game for like ten years or something........

I was skeptical. Was completely convinced it would be a huge let down. This is because imo FF9 and 10 are the best in the series and 12 and 13 were absolute hot garbage.

Watched the first trailer some years ago now and was a bit put off by the futuristic/realistic element to it with cars n shit.

Now.....

I watched the TGS trailer today and all I can say it I am well and truly aboard the hype train. This is the game that will convince me to buy a PS4. The trailer makes it look absolutely stunning in every way.

I was being lazy in my justification.

I don't thinking they are simulating hair to the extent that would encourage them to shorten the length. Usually you don't simulate the physics on every strand, even pixar who prerender everything will only simulate a fraction of the hairs and then interpolate. Same thing goes for tangled. I take back what I said, it very much seems like they are using softbody deformation and inverse kinematics. But they aren't exhaustively simulating anything here.

I wouldn't say it's unique to Final Fantasy. Just being a bit too invested ins something you're really excited for and being a bit eager to go on the defensive about something. Happens with anything :)

i remember the FFXIII TGS 2009 trailer. some bits looked rough and had really choppy framerate

then 2-3 months later the final game released and it was smooth and polished to the teeth

considering they have another 1-1.5 years from now until release they can probably accomplish and improve it a ton more

Maybe the car will have radio stations of classic FF music?

-Uematsu channel (FF1-10)
-Hamauzu channel (FF10-LR)
-Sakimoto channel (FFT & FFXII)
-Kikuta channel (SD 2 & 3)

Cheesy, but awesome. :D

Would be amazing, which means unfortunately they probably won't but that would be so awesome.

I like the "road trip" nature of the game, I always felt that RPGs were the "road trip movies" of video games - on the way to a destination, getting into all sorts of crazy stuff here and there. I'm hoping the game will be good for the sake of the genre and the Japanese console marketplace.

Yeah

Yeah, that kind of sweetens the wait!

So apparently the main character designs have been getting a lot of flack. I think they're f******* awesome myself. They are up there with my favorites.

Why is the music so good? Why is Yoko Shimomura so good?

Noctis actually seems like a likeable dude.

When's the last time a Final Fantasy had a likeable protagonist? FFIX? Yeah, has to be.

Xenoblade Chronicles is also the best thing to happen to JRPGs in a long, long time. This just proves it. Anybody who denies it now are just fooling themselves.

I like you two.

Hmm, I'm curious if character switching is still in or not since it hasn't been shown off in the recent looks at the game. Somewhat curious if they decided to scratch it or not.

I do rather hope the camera can be controlled easily enough.

Bit of an odd trailer nonetheless though I imagine it's showing what is probably the early part of the game before everything goes down. One thing I'm not clear on is who Luna is? When talking about her they showed what looked like Stella so is that a nickname or has her name perhaps been changed at some point?

Well, you could do a trio attack in The Bouncer, which sort of played out a cutscene-like attack. but it was in-game. If they could do that on PS2, I don't see why this couldn't be a regular thing for the PS4.

Damn it. I hate you.

You are right. I guess reading is hard.

you know how sometimes your AI companions impede your progress or you get stuck on them? i figured maybe its a game animation that avoid such hiccups and it just flows naturally. Of course thats just wishful thinking on my part.

They'll announce a release date in about 3 years

That's how Square Enix deal with things apparently haha

In truth, 2015 apparently.

2015 is going to be beyond insane. Like, holy shit insane.

I remember 2011 being pretty big year but 2015 is like...destroyed wallets everywhere lol.

Kojima also vaguely confirmed that MGSV coming out next year, if i had to guess he's probably aiming for that Sept date.

I don't know why but the trailer had me loling so hard. Am I a bad person?

edit: but just so you know. I will buy this, probably even pay full price.
