Also, kind of a lack of any environmental design painting a stark picture of an abandoned world.
Seemed like a bunch of paragraphs on a message board. Not much of a "story" really. At least not in the way that Destiny tells one.

Yep, just went to play Ground Zeroes, and PSN is indeed down.
After all the shit they're getting for the story, no way Destiny 2 ends up not improving on it significantly. It's the one issue the game has that can't be fixed with patches and expansions.
Put them in jail for a long long time. To get the point across they won't get some special job from this, just put a live webcam on them in their cell 24/7.
This doesn't just potentially harm users, but it can cause tremendous fiscal issues, loosely impacting economic establishment. It should be a serious crime.

The game I'm playing is exceedingly high quality. The only major failing I see is the lack of a meaty beginning, middle, and end, character-driven story. The game and world are well-developed and a compelling foundation for stories, but sadly underutilized in this regard in the shipping product.

Just saw that video of the bug revealing that some (all?) of those named spots currently locked in Old Russia are in fact linked to paid DLC and won't be released as free content updates a la "Events".
The King's Watch one is the most irritating tbh because of it being fully populated. I thought that was a sign that it wouldn't be locked behind a paywall. I was wrong and I am sad.
Still enjoy the hell out of the game, but man... I think that was a serious misstep on their part and is only going to further harden critical opinions of the game from all sides.

fuck these guys man. ive never been mad at much, but i just spent a lot of time doing crucible bounties and turned them in and got lucky enough to land my first exotic bounty. the game boots me out as i was about to press A. sigh.

Its obvious that a lot was cut of of Destiny, and it really bothers me. Say what you will about Microsoft, but at least they didnt force Bungie to cut the Halo story out of the game.*

All I'm doing is asking you to substantiate and qualify the posts you make. You take your opinion and post like everyone holds the same opinion as you.
He was being sarcastic, and not referring to people playing the game. He was basically saying some random guy on reddit made up(if he is making it up) a better story than bungie did with that post. And honestly, he's not wrong.
That being said, no one should call someone an idiot for enjoying something, and for the most part that's not happening here.

The "alpha tester" story that his theory is based on is on Bungie.net.
Synopsis by memory in spoiler text:
You're ressurected from dead to become a Guardian but early in the story you're kidnapped by a Mysterious Stranger named Crow (not the same as the one we got in the released game) and he's there with a few other Guardians who have lost their Ghost. He reveals that The Traveler didn't actually bring the Golden Age but brought The Darkness that destroyed Humanity but over the centuries the Speaker retroactively changed the story to make Humanity believe The Traveler was their savior. He then explains a few missions, one of which being a twist on the Moon mission where you destroy the thing The Hive was communing with but in that version that thing was trying to resurrect The Traveler so it could finish destroying Humanity.
Nothing particularly compelling and a tired concept imo. But it could be entirely made up based on some of the theories that were already floating around.

- An extremely satisfying conclusion.
In Destiny we got:
- Humanity found the Traveller, had a golden era.
- But then The Darkness (whatever the hell that is) came along.
