Destiny |OT5| New patch out Tues., Master Rahool reportedly crying into his robes

the range dropped significantly for that stability though. Often heard that it's better tan SUROS, but it looks the same without those drawbacks.
For Raids I hope people don't sleep on High Caliber Rounds. High Caliber Rounds are basically there to make opening the door child's play. I mean with a decent team it's not hard anyways, but staggering Minotaurs all day is a good deal.

I would say try it. The last time I got 2 legendary weapons, one piece of armor, a shader, and a few materials. The time before I got an exotic, even though we didn't finish. I think the raid, along with the nightfall provide the best rewards in the game. And the weekly too if you get all 9 coins.

Yeah, I can't imagine that anyone who is high enough level passing on the raid. It has the best gear in the game. Not doing it because it's not guaranteed seems a bit silly since so many parts of this game are RNG based. Might as well stop playing once you reach level 25.

My team has never shot the conflux at all. We just kill the ads and the phase ends.
I don't think you are supposed to shoot the conflux.

That's what I figured. When I was doing the raid for the first time, we were told to use our supers against the conflux to destroy it. After clearing it more times as the relic holder, I began noticing how nothing was happening.

Yeah, I'm not doing that anymore. Those Supers can be saved for minotaurs/praetorians.

I never used the relic super on the conflux.

It was funny the first time I did that fight, after like 15 attempts because teammates would not kill Oracles fast enough or the fight would glitch and make us die to Oracles anyways, that we realized there was two relics to get and that you didn’t just need to kill both gatekeepers.

When I do it now, it’s always about getting the jungle gatekeeper to near-death, then getting the first relic from the desert gatekeeper, then popping back into the jungle gate and grabbing the other relic. Only thing that makes it hard for me is when I have to solo the Minotaurs with the relic and they take off my shields with just one of their bullshit unpredictable melee attacks. And then sometimes my self-rez isn’t available, the relic drops, and no one responds in time.

Huh, I guess that's one way to do it. In my group, two people go into the left (desert) portal. We kill the gatekeeper in it and grab the relic as fast as possible while ignoring the trash (usually the guy who'll get the second relic will hang back near the portal).

Then we dash to the second. The guy with the first relic uses his super on the gatekeeper, knocking its HP in half. The second guy is blasting this gatekeeper at the same time while making his way to where the jungle relic spawns. He grabs it. We peace out. We wreck everything around the conflux.

The idea here is that the desert portal is easier to deal with than the jungle mainly because the Gatekeeper doesn't seem to teleport that much. In the Jungle, he seems to always teleport to the far back of the room.

Holy crap, I'm levelling a Hunter, and I just realized, that you can skip the non essential story missions on the planets. That means, to progress from Earth to the Moon, you only need to do 2 missions.

Everyone that reports in getting "crap" drops in the Raid is making it hard for me to justify the 2-3 hours playing it. Then I see people with awesome rewards which makes me want to try it.

I just wish the Raid wasn't subject to so much RNG and there was something guaranteed, like a definite piece of raid gear and/or weapon.

All I got from the raid was a bunch of ascendant shards... and it was totally worth it.

I discovered this too :) You definitely don't have to do all the story missions. I'm already at Mars on my alt.

The cosmetic stuff from raids is the stuff you want anyway. The gear will always get replaced. Shaders are forever.

It seems that there are never enough ass shards and energies either so I will never complain about getting those. Of course I'd probably rather get the raid gear but you will need shards to upgrade it eventually anyways.

Having used the Suros for a while and briefly going back to my Shadow Price to try out my new Pocket Infinity, I can safely say I much prefer the slow ROF of the Suros. I do much better with it in PvP. It's gonna be a tough choice when it and my Pocket Infinity are both fully levelled up. :/

I remember being excited about the character creation. Then you spend all game with a flat metal plate covering your face...

I remember reading an interesting tidbit on bungie's decision making with that.

Part of being in the tower is seeing the cool gear everyone has. But when they tested out people walking in the tower with their helmets on they found out that people just flat out forgot what their characters looked like.

So having no helmets in the tower was a good compromise. Would be interesting if there were more helmets that allowed facial features to come through.

SUROS Regime is the king of raid for precisely this reason. It has so much impact you don't even need to spec the High Caliber Rounds to stagger everything in there.

Note that shielded enemies cannot be staggered until you take the shield down.

Two weeks later, nearly 100 hours of playtime and i'm still addicted.
I just want to go home and do my daily bounties (now with 2 characters) and grind some rep before the reset tomorrow.

I have a titan with both sub classes maxed out. Now i'm playing with a sunsinger warlock and it's fun. It definetely feels different from a titan. Titan feels solid and tanky. Warlock is agile and all over the place spamming space magic.

Didn't the patch news from Bungie say that any Legendary engrams in inventory would be converted to Rare ones when the patch goes live?

So better to turn them in now and at least have chance to get legendaries.

So should I save my legendary encrypted stuff for the patch?

Also I need tips for the nightfall strike, We cant just simply take down those minotaurs

They already said that old engrams will not be affected by the patch. You might as well just decode them now.

Yes, you should turn in Legendaries if you can, now...BUT, ideally, you should get your Cryptarch as close to possible to leveling and then stop. Hoarde your remaining engrams and turn them in tomorrow.

That way when you level up and get your prize, you get (potentially) up to 3 more legendary engrams that'll operate based on the new ruleset and be guaranteed Legendary or better.

This guy has it right.

The most important loots in the raid are the shader, the ship, and the Vex fusion rifle from hard mode (because no way that doesn't get nerfed).

I hope Xur brings the Helm of Saint-14 next week, that bubble stun effect looks like a lot of fun. "Please, come in to my bubble of pain!"

I guess my confusion stems from the fact that many say attack ≠ damage. But it must at least have an affect on it?

So attack increases effectiveness? How specifically?

Attack represents the general damage effectiveness of the weapon. So a weapon with higher attack will generally do more damage. There are exceptions but those are cases where say.. a slow firing Hand Cannon with slightly higher Attack won't do as much damage over time as a high Rate of Fire Assault Rifle with slightly lower Attack. But generally, higher attack means more damage done.

Level matters since there's a pretty harsh dimishing return on fighting enemies that are 2 levels above you or higher.

Outside of that, Impact determines the actual damage per bullet, so when comparing two weapons of the same Attack rating, you'd want to check for things like Impact, Rate of Fire, and to a lesser extent Stability and Reload time. Or in the case of Fusion Rifles, Charge Time makes a big difference.

Oh man. No wonder The Last Word does so much work against those Supplicants in the raid's final boss.

In other news, I found a gun that gives "Plus damage to Oracles in the Vault". I didn't know such a skill/bonus existed. Can't wait to try it out.

Has it been confirmed the same loot lockout applies to both normal and heroic difficulties of the raid?

By that I mean if I get all the loot in normal mode, will I get loot in the heroic mode?

I'm not sure.

We started up Hard right after beating Normal, and we beat the first part again. The loot was gone. So we orbited out.

I got it from an exotic engram. Used only once in pvp. Three guys came into my bubble. Three died. I was laughing so much i didn't noticed the fourth and than i died.
It's pretty good for pve too. Enemies will still be blind after they leave the bubble.

Oh and the queen's shader fits nicely.

Attack isn't the only thing that effects damage but it does have an effect on it. Your level relative to the target as well as your weapons attack will both have a hand to play in the number that pops up when you shoot something.

Going from the base damage on one of my exotic hand cannons to the maxed out 300 upped my damage on the same exact low level monsters a crap ton so yeah its important if you plan to continue using the weapon.

I've heard similar things. Apparently, the chests share the same lockout and loot from the encounters themselves can be gained again in Heroic in the same week.

I haven't proved this yet nor has anyone confirmed it to me.

Do we know how long the blind debuff lasts? And is it 100% blind/black screen?

This would make sense as afaik the only difference between Normal and Hard is that Atheon can drop the Vex Mythoclast on Hard.

In the long run it's much faster to have as many alts as possible. Those 9 strange coins per week turns into 27. 2 ascendant materials per day turns into 6 etc.

You'll reach a point with your main where leveling up an alt will be more valuable to you. With the way gear works, once you hit 20 with that alt, you can do end-game raids with him and weeklies. That makes a huge difference. Instead of grinding out dailies on your main, do a few on an alt, will go fast.

I am at that point, but an alt would require a lot of work. I'm guessing at least 10 hours to get to the point where they can do the weeklies comfortably.

The other I have seen (and done) is watch a bladedancer go after one victim and get gunned down by the victim's teammates either before, during, or after the kill. If they're chasing and other teammates are around, and not all bunched together nice and close, it can be tough on the bladedancer to get work done without dying in the process.

surviving these scenarios successfully and getting multiple kills really does require skill, and often when I succeed at one I am left with a tiny sliver of health (I don't run Hungering Blade). but the concept that bladedancers are invincible seems to have taken hold
I love the bladedancers that go run and jump in the air when they activate it. presumably because it looks cool, but it's hilarious taking them out before they get a chance to do anything. If you're a bladedancer, you gotta know when to activate it. Don't activate it out in the open unless you're close enough to do some damage.
I tell myself this all the time but to be honest... i can't help it it's so cool dude

Do we know how long the blind debuff lasts? And is it 100% blind/black screen?

Screen goes pure white in PVP.

On PVE the blind probably lasts 10-15 seconds. They stumble around just like a blind grenade hit them.

A friend of mine used it in the doorway to "we've awoken the hive" and many LOLs ensued.

Welp...just bought Blessing of the Gifted for 7 motes of light. Here's hoping it actually does something.

The queens one gives 10% more experience to the faction, so it's not unheard of.
