Another leak. Anyone still in denial about 5.9 anymore?

That actually doesn't look that bad in terms of size. Still, I don't know. I really would need to see it in person. That picture makes it look as big as the One Plus One, which I was pretty comfortable using.

Hmm, that actually looks totally fine in terms of size. Looks practically the same physical size as the Note but with less bezel and more screen.

More interested that I was in this thing. If it has a longer battery life than the Moto X (and still has all the Moto Voice stuff that I want), it might end up being my next phone!
Actually the nexus is gonna have less useable screen-estate than the note 4 and > or = the 6+. The only time the whole 5.9" is gonna be available for use is for viewing videos/pictures.
They should have went the G3 route with the bezels as the ff speakers can't carry their weight against the size of the device.

Definitive edition.

I currently have a Note 3 and, aside from some times where I miss having easy one-handed usage, I love the size. I thought 6" would be too big (or 5.9, w/e) but they use the phone's area extremely well in that mockup. I'd move to a Nexus 6 in a heartbeat if I wasn't locked into a Verizon contract for another year.

Mines pretty poor, wouldn't say the batterys degraded over the time I've had it though. Have messed around with different kernels which admittedly do give you more battery life but imo its not worth it for all the bugs/crappy performance that they bring.
The biggest killer for me is it takes so long to charge, I use my n4 for navigation so have it plugged into my cars cigarette lighter and it drains more power than the charger can supply!
Dude, change the car charger, seriously.

I have a Nexus 4,had a shit charger and it drained more than it charged. Bought a cheap Anker charger (you need a standard cable, not a charge only cable) and now it charges incredibly fast.

Also if the phone gets too hot, it will stop charging, so put AC on the car.

Battery is shit though, but seriously, change the charger.

Is that really 5.9 inches? That could be a knockoff for all we know.

Sony is going too far by releasing these update devices so quickly. I hope every OEM has a device in the pipe with 1440x2560 resolution, 4.7 inch+ screen, 3 GB of RAM and NFC.

I highly doubt anyone other than Sony of the big OEMs will do that. All have long since moved past 5 inches for their flag ships.

do you really notice the difference between 1440 and 1080 phones?

Looks pretty good!

When I first got my OnePlus One I thought maybe it was too big but now I can use it very comfortably and when I go back to my Nexus 5 (I still use it without a SIM for music and Run Tracker when I go running) it seems so tiny now.

This only seems slightly bigger than the OPO and if the back is a similar textured material I will definitely be purchasing.

I feel the Nexus 5 and the first Moto X are the perfect size and shape for a phone. The screen size and slight curve in the body make them feel good in your hand. If Google only has this 5.9" phone I might be switching back to Apple for the regular 6. I'll miss Google Now, stock key board, and the app drawer but I have no real issues with my iPad. The Z3 compact is a good size but it looks old/cheap now and it's going to be really hard to find in the US.

Repeating for new page: your smaller Nexus 6 exists and it's called the Moto X.

*sigh*

People who stick with 1080p phones will always have longer battery life, but don't worry you still get to brag about all those
indiscernible
pixels!

The X is not even close to it in terms of specs and the X2 is fuck off huge as well and much more expensive to boot.

Well, these images are creations that are based off of information we have received, just like every other “leak” you have seen over the last couple of weeks. With that said, we have confidence in presenting these in-house made renders of what we believe the Nexus 6, made by Motorola, will look like from the back in both white and black.

You have seen front renderings a couple of times now, but nothing like this from the back. From what we know, there will be two color options initially, both white and black. And yes, the device will look exactly like the Moto X (2nd gen), only bigger. As can be seen in each image, the power and volume buttons have indeed been moved down the body ever-so-slightly, to make for easier use with the larger frame. You can also see that a vertically running “Nexus” logo will grace the back, just under the Motorola logo, something that was either hidden or not yet included in last week’s showing of the device next to an LG G3.

A report from last week that showed a similar mock-up was confused on the design of the back, and whether or not the Motorola dimple/logo would be present. While things can always change last minute, we are confident that the Motorola dimple/logo will be present, though its background could be a darker shade of grey depending on model.

We don’t currently have anything new to report on specs, other than we have heard similar details to previous reports. We also do not have any new launch details to share at this time.

Thoughts?

Why didn't remove the Moto "M"?

This is just a render from Droid Life, it's not official.
I know it's a render, but unless its approach is completely different, it's going to be hard for me to like it.
Not the thing I'd expect from Google and Motorola. A blown up Moto X with the Nexus 5's "nexus" logo copypasted onto its back is not exactly my cup of tea.

It's not a Nexus device. You may think it is close enough, others don't.

Of course not. But it's 99.99% close, and the closest thing you'll get to it.

Not quite true, they also disappear for games. They go away when you really need the real estate, I don't understand why you hate them so much lol

If that size chart is anywhere near true, holy shit. Smaller than the 6+ with a much bigger screen? Apple fucked up. From the leak it doesn't look to big in the hand at all, hype!

Hate them? Lol nah, I've been a fan of software buttons since I imported my Gnex state side :) it's not a problem to me, it's just that they should allow for smaller bezels on devices, yet we still get nexus phones with huge bezels. The n6 could have easily been smaller than the n4 in size while having a "larger" display.

What? The Moto X 2014 is 5.2". That's most peoples sweet spot.
And it's also in most people's price range at $99. Yes most people are on contract.

It's not a Nexus device. You may think it is close enough, others don't.

It will satisfy any Nexus owner. It's literally a Nexus with the Moto app and a different camera app. The Moto app is the most useful app on the planet, and you can download Google Camera if you wish.

So yes, it is very much close enough.

Did they seriously tape the name “Shamu” (The Whale) on the back of the 6” phone?

Like, is that an internal codename for this thing. (link said the term was rumoured to have been used before)

Mega dissappointed. I'm thinking of just getting the 2013 moto x Or Nexus 5 or iPhone. Oh Google what have you done.

Except the Google supported updates. That is the quite a big point of the Nexus programme for me, Motorola have great for a non-nexus device at their updates, but they're still behind. I like the Nexus and Google Play Edition programme for the updates. The Moto X is more expensive and gets the updates later.

As I said, close enough for you maybe, not for others.

Is the Moto X Pure Edition better with Google supported updates? I am trying to decide between the Moto X and the Nexus. After dealing with Samsung for two years, quick OS updates are definitely a high priority for me.

The Pure Edition should receive basically instant updates, for everything that was baked into the OS last year has now been moved onto the "Moto" app. We're talking 99.99% stock here.

And frankly once L drops - unless it manages to bring some 8.0.1-level bugs - it won't be an utter pain to wait even a week for 5.0.1 and the followings.

The pure edition would definitely be a bigger contender for me if it does indeed offer Google supported updates on a Nexus/GPE schedule, but I can't find any information on it being available in the UK.

If the next nexus is indeed a 6 inch phone then it is really disappointing. Nexus 5 has the best form factor that I have seen. Google just give me 805 snapdragon, 3000mA battery, 3GB ram, 1440p in nexus 5 rehashed or something, and I'll happily pay 400$ for that.
Also Moto logo looks hideous
