Vendor is Fire.... Solar I mean. heh, I should use 77 in PvP then. I guess the sick impact one shots everything.

Tiger nets me 4 blues on average. Which is better than it was. It levels Rahool up faster, and I sometimes get a Legendary out of it which is either cool or shards. I think Vanguard Tiger is worthwhile for that. I play it much more since the patch.

The only reason I was thinking SGA is because I don't have an exotic Heavy Weapon yet.

However, it might be better ti wait and see about Gjallahorn.

Another problem with Pocket Infinity is that the bounty fot it is a REAtL pain in the ass.

Lol you're telling me.... Been waiting for a week and a half. Still stuck on the dismantle fusion rifle thing.

I guess if you want a quick exotic, go for SGA, but if you want a good one, it's PI time.

Also, you're right. I would wait for either thunderlord or Gjallerhorn. I have the latter and the tracking+velocity makes it beautiful.

Haven't heard anything about 'the truth' however. That could be good too.

I have my exotic gauntlets leveled up in order for my Titan to hit 28, but once I spare enough shards so that my 2 alts can also hit 28, I'll then go back and level up that helm since I think it'll be a lot more helpful in solo play and when shit hits the fan.

Surrounded from all sides? Pop a bubble and everything that gets close for 30-45 seconds (w/ Bastion) is blinded. Plus the amount of Intellect it gives me puts my Intellect at 97%, so perfect.

I love placing bubbles in choke points or enemy spawns and picking off the poor bastards as they pass through the other side. Or even running in the middle of a clusterfuck and blinding everything. Sometimes it's useful to throw one up behind you to protect your six. Supers replenish so fast with Inverse Shadow that I feel like I can be liberal and creative with how I use Ward of Dawn instead of saving it for emergency situations.

Nice. I fully endorse this sort of decision, which represents 1 of the 3 approaches to endgame I am writing about in my final leveling guide. What exotic weapons do you roll with/want if you don't have them yet?

Cool, look forward to reading. I have a maxed Gjallarhorn which means I always get Minotaur duty during VoG.

I don't really feel that Bungie has balanced this properly.

Why would I wanna do the tiger playlist for a measly 25 Rep a time and no chance of gear that I actually want.

I mean it's a rep grind purely to get rep to get gear I want with no chance of getting what I need in the process of doing so.

That's one thing that is handled in wow much better. I always feel like im gaining something by running a heroic for the 100th time for THAT piece of gear that I need. I've always got a chance of getting it.

Where as in Destiny it's not very rewarding at all when stuck between not being geared enough to run the raid and the tiger playlist has nothing I need bar rep for running it :I

Eh, I think they slightly alleviated this problem by the ton of blue engrams you get from Vanguard playlists now. Even if you're not getting purple, you're getting cryptarch ranks for another chance at purples lolblues.

Taking a break I think, it feels good to go back to other games. I'll definitely be around for the Nightfall / Weeklies tomorrow though.

Finally got a good legendary drop--The Devil You Know hand cannon.

Finished the nightfall with my lv26 Hunter alt. My buddies basicly carried me through it. The reward? 10 ascendant energy. Which makes that I have a grand total of 52 (!) ass energy now. Atleast gimme shards dammit.

Yeah that's true but, that's what every 2000exp or something and it's all down to RNG again, which for me so far I've never even seen a legendary engram yet. Let's not even get started on the exotic bounties...

They should up the Rep to atleast 50 for the Vanguard Strike 24

Agreed.

getting loaded up on info and some of this will probably be in a tips and tricks post but here are some quick PSAs:

  1. The Queen's Wrath event ends today. If you have an alt anywhere near 21, get there and see about getting carried through a few queen's kill missions. The Helm and chest, along with blue gauntlets and boots, upgraded will get you to 26.

Sigh, I do not read these threads enough and my wife is definitely in a talking mood tonight.. I'm going to have to start paying more attention to these posts and events.

Spend it, it's so easy to get more anyways.

I'm excited for Iron Banner tomorrow.

I may spend tonight getting the two pieces for my Titan just so he has them from the Queen's missions. I had two, but dismantled before the patch came to not let them be used as ascendant material farming.

Now I have to get two new ones. Blah. Oh well...or I may as well save up for crucible and vanguard rank 2 items...maybe new monarchy rank 2. Decisions...

Couple of quick questions:

1) I thought the nightfall reputation bonus was 20%, but I just got 125 rep from completing a 100 rep bounty. Can other things also grant a bonus?

2) is the elemental damage on vendor bought legendaries not actually fixed? I've had the vanguard sniper rifle (Epitaph) twice now through the post from levelling the faction, and one is void and one is arc. According to the vendor, it should be an arc weapon?

Finally got a good legendary drop--The Devil You Know hand cannon.

My favorite gun so far...You will LOVE it. Hits like a freight train, fires fast, and the best part...12 shots. 13-14 if you wear the right armor. Was my first legendary gun. Im really dying for the Hawkmoon, The Last Word, or Fatebringer.

It's best to combine patrol missions with bounties. But Ya, patrol missions are good.

It's perfect when you've got several bounties requiring you to kill enemies.

  • Collect 200 items (by killing enemies)
  • Melee Kill 30 enemies without dying
  • Kill 100 enemies without dying
  • Complete 6 Patrol missions
Do only kill and loot missions then. Huge amounts of XP and rep in just 15 minutes or so.

Wow. So last night my wife, after a string of bad luck with engrams, received an exotic weapon bounty.

Summoning pits strike, easy enough.
500 energy from Hive on the moon, she had fun doing that even if it was very much a grind.
Crucible - 500 energy from kills with void damage. Hooooly fuck.
I had to take over, and with the help of a little boosting and absolutely going to town in Rumble with a void shotgun - we got that completed.

But the fucking Xyor kill on Summoning pits is by far the hardest thing we've done in this game. We had a friend helping us (all level 27) and we were just getting slammed.

Eventually we got it done (including killing Phogoth) after some changes to our abilities (sunsinger 4lyfe). And my wife was very excited to receive Thorn - particularly because hand cannons are her favourite weapon type.

I hope the game doesn't get much harder than that...

Instead of leveling to 29 I went ahead and invested my ass mats in making a dedicated Defender build centered around the Helm of Saint. This took me back to 27, but was best decision ever. I feel like I got stronger despite losing a level. The ability to cast blindness on fools like Final Fantasy, faster melee making disintegrate/force barrier easier and more efficient, nearly double the amount of supers which means double the amount of time with weapons & armor buffs....having hit the shard wall, I still equip my old gear for raids and level 28 stuff, and boy do I feel limited. As someone who rolled Defender almost exclusively anyway, it's been a total game changer.

Yeah just watching a Blade dancer go blind and spin around in circles alone was worth leveling up that helm for dat perk :D

Granted, yeah a Fist of Havoc would smash them to bits too. But at least now a defender titan has a chance against a Bladedancer

Question about that. Does this mean just the bounties will be gone, or also the Queen's missions? I've still got about 7 of the mission tokens and no time to play until Wednesday.

I assume everything disappears, though I can't be sure. I assume the whole thing is totally gone at 5am est tuesday

The Titan in our group do this every time !
Anyway, a Titan well played, smash a Bladedancer most of the time.

Ok since I have had bad luck finding groups I will be forming one for Wednesday 8pm EST

This will be for heroic/hard mode vault of glass

29 plus being the requirement as it's needed.

Please send me a pm if you are generally interested so I can add your name to the list

My PSN is cyborg1

This will be a weekly run and my first time attempting hard mode so any experience is appreciated as well as being vocal with a mic

Reposting after some time

The day can change depending on other peoples schedules

Could you feasibly solo this requirement using "back room cheese" method used for soloing Phogoth?

I've read of people doing that but haven't tried it myself. I helped a friend complete that bounty (there were 3 of us, two of us were 27 and the other was 28) this weekend and we sort of used that. Two of us hung out in the main room and the other was in that back room. The only thing you really have to deal with in there is a shrieker that spawns periodically (much easier than the massive amounts of wizards, knights and phogoth). Xyor and a couple other wizards ended up getting into that back room and got themselves stuck so we were able to kill them a little more easily than if we were all out in the main room.

This is exactly where I'm at, too. I think Ihave ~350 more points until Shadow Price, then it is raiding and Crucible. The grind for ass shards is another thing I am not especially looking forward to.

Is Iron Banner a limited time thing?
