Ubisoft issues totally convincing response to Assassin's Creed Unity's resolution

I may be wrong, but if a game is exactly the same with no added features (better shadows, AA, etc) on either console over another and both are 900p 30fps, shouldn't the PS4 almost always be able to do 1080p given those circumstances and the power gap?
 
At the end of the day, you can't confuse "We created parity to not have debates" with "I mispoke or used the wrong words". Lies.

They were doing everything right uptill now. It's sad they don't understand that the res isn't the issue. It's both systems running the same effects.

Well sure, I have no doubt a couple people who also still believe in the power of the "cloud" to improve graphics are wondering this. But the rest of the world is wondering why are they both 900p to avoid debates and stuff? Or, in other words, why is it not 1080p on PS4?

Not why isn't it 1080p on Xbox One? Not why not on both?

If there were exclusive graphic settings on the PS4 and such, I doubt they would want to talk about it. Stop with these threads and just wait for Digital Foundry. It comes off as entitled when were looking for exclusive PS4 settings.
 
As of now, Assassin’s Creed Unity is locked at 900p

Ubisoft stealth confirming that the PS4 will receive a 1080p patch.

This answer is ambiguous and just selling the game instead answering what happened with the gpu overhead. The Digital Foundry thread will make all things clear.
 
If everything said here is true then how in the fuck did he come up with that gold quote "to avoid debates and stuff". That gives it away right there. They can talk all they want about "trying to push it past 900p" in future but I guarantee that isn't going to happen.
 
Hey Ubisoft, answer this or stfu:

The Ps4's gpu is 50% more powerful than Xbox One's. Is that not enough to give us either 1080p30 or 900p60?

Because if it is (and it should be), you ARE holding back the ps4 version.

You mean the effects that a lot of which weren't finished? Like dynamic headlight shadows and the weird lighting glitch on rain.

I can think of a few reasons.
 
The "it's for gameplay" excuse should have been their first statement. Even if it's probably bullshit atleast it's not the military grade uranium-enriched bullshit they started with.

Just going with a simple "it's simply the compromise we're making to push out this and that" would've been hte best answer from the start, for both resolution and framerate.

Why do they like to complicate their lives with this shit, i don't know.

Yeah, the ones they didn't finish working on because they didn't want the PC version looking too good due to parity issues.

They failed pretty hard at maintaining parity between PC (max settings) and the other versions. The water alone is much more tessellated on PC.
Better water
Better LOD
Better reflections
Better shadows
1080p and above possible
30fps and above possible.
