Is it sad that this kind of intellectual dishonesty from UbiSoft is just expected now? Nevermind the clearly clashing commentary with regard to the framerate being limited on purpose, just go far beyond on all that to see how often this kind of thing occurs with Ubi.
I mean, is it hard to achieve 1080p/60fps? Even if I say "Yes, damn hard!", it's important to note that Ubi can do it. They have the money, they have the resources, they have the time needed to make it happen -- and it's not some kind of "limits of computation" thing, it's simply their limited outset. I mean, tell me Ubi, at what number of NPC AI do you suddenly cross the threshold of Can Do 1080p to Can't Do, because the moment you hit that threshold is the moment you are hurting your game at the expense of a unit, or even maybe a hundred units, I will not care about, I will not interact with, and that will not fundamentally change the game for me. But that was assuming this wasn't just some big lie, which it is, so the point is moot I guess.
Getting ridiculously sick of Ubi's attitude. They claim they know what the gold standard is, and as big as they are, they determine they will not hit that standard because reasons. So let us now be as intellectually dishonest and write articles with headlines: "AC:Unity said by developers to not achieve Gold Standard of past games" -- it's at least on par with the kind of bullshit their PR spews.
