Do you feel sorry for certain sports fans in which they're stuck with shitty teams?

I am sorry for fans who have oil rich owners come in. Then you get a bunch of fans who had never heard of you a week earlier starting to support you.

Cowboys say hello!

I think it's not that they suck, its just that coaching has a lot to do with it. If they change mid season what do you expect after a season or two of trying to rebuild a team? Start with good picks at the drafts. And eventually really egotistical people (like hood old JJ) will eventually make good choices.

raiders still suck

Cleveland is shitty in 3 out of 4, and if you count Columbus, it's all 4. Lebron may save us.

Well, Cleveland, Ohio has Basketball (with the Cleveland Cavaliers), Baseball (with the Cleveland Indians), & Football (with the Cleveland Browns), while Columbus, Ohio only has Hockey (with the Columbus Blue Jackets).

I do see what you're saying, though. And if you're talking about Ohio as a whole, there's also Cincinnati, Ohio in which they only have Baseball (with the Cincinnati Reds), & Football (with the Cincinnati Bengals).

Being a Blues fan isn't easy most of the time. Decent regular season, high expectations... first round exit... fuuuuuuuuuuck

I just wish I lived in more than a one sports city. Granted the Spurs are the best NBA franchise but still I'd love to go to MLB and NFL games and support a local team.

I'm a Jaguars, Marlins, and Heat fan. I don't expect anyone to feel sorry for the teams I chose to be a fan of.

Jaguars were very good in the past and will be very good in the future. Every NFL team goes through a rough stretch, this one just so happens to be 7 years and counting.

Marlins are on the cusp of being a playoff contender. They desperately need a new owner.

Heat had a good past 4 years, and they are probably a top 4 team in their conference this year so I can't complain.

1997 and 2003 says you don't get to complain.
Thanks for 2003, by the way

Travelling between London and Leeds, i've shared train journeys with fans of league 2 and conference clubs that have moved away from their home town to london for work but still travel hours every week to support their team who might not be doing well. I have to say i think it's awesome and refreshing compared with the Liverpool v Man Utd debates i hear week in week out in north london. I wouldn't find particular joy in supporting a team just winning everything all the time though, the younger Yankees and United fans might find some new joy in adapting to their new positions.

Why do u have to be a fan of ur state/city team? Nothing wrong with being a fan of a team in another area. What I do hate though is bandwagon fans that jump ship to anything that is doing good at the time.

The Marlins owner doesn't give a shit about the team. Reason enough to complain.

This so much. The championships were great, but the aftermath of both of them underline what a shitty crop of ownership the team has had since it's inception.

Here's hoping one of those billionaire Russians from Sunny Isles buys em up, at least they'll spend some cash.

As a Philly sports fan....yes -___-

love seeing the Phillies bandwagon fans jump on during our nice 2006-2009 run have all jumped way off now

I would never complain about winning 2 championships, especially the 2003 season. That was a incredible season that I will remember the rest of my life. However, Jeffrey Loria is a lying, cheating, conniving, piece of shit human being with a poor taste in art. I'm not bitter though.

Ah, there are plenty of teams with terrible owners who also don't have championships to show for them.
Even if the owner's terrible, getting to watch a team come together and win a championship is pretty great.

EDIT:

Yeah, you can feel bad about that though >.>

I definitely agree. It's more fun that way.

From what I know, Orlando FL, Memphis, TN, San Antonio, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, Portland, OR, Salt Lake City, UT, Sacramento, CA, & Auburn Hills, MI only has Basketball,

Calgary, Alberta (Canada), Edmonton, Alberta (Canada), Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada), Winniped, Mantioba (Canada), Montreal, Quebec (Canada), Ottawa, Ontario (Canada), San Jose, CA, Saint Paul, MN, Buffalo, NY, Sunrise, FL, Raleigh, NC, Columbus, OH, Newark, NJ, & Uniondale, NY only has Hockey,

East Rutherford, NJ, Orchard Park, NY, Foxborough, MA, Jacksonville, FL, Landover, MD, Green Bay, WI, & Santa Clara, CA only has Football (East Rutherford has both the Jets & the Giants), &

St. Petersburg, FL, & San Francisco, CA only has Baseball.

The rest of the cities have about between 2 to 3 professional sports (depending where you are), with Denver, CO, Philadelphia, PA, & Chicago, IL being the only three cities to have all 4 professional sports (with Chicago having an additional Baseball team).

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
Seeing as the one season my team had a good squad that would have won the title the games were fixed against them, yeah. I feel bad for me. Fans of other teams? Fuck 'em. Tell your local team owner to put a good squad together.

I live in Toronto so I have three disappointing teams.
The Leafs had their last championship in the 60s.
The Jays just missed out on 22 seasons of playoffs, and while the back to back winning seasons in 92/93 are great - I didn't exist. At all.
The Raptors, well, you get the point. At one point they were a great team, but the one division title they have isn't cutting it.

I don't feel anything. I figure one day they'll get good again, or miraculously become good by finding the necessary set pieces. Until then, well, gg.

I'm not a big sports fan, but I'm angry at the Mets' ownership.

The Wilpons continue to own the team despite gross financial mismanagement and allegations the idiot Wilpon son mistreated a female employee. Instead of stepping in and forcing the Wilpons to sell, MLB's commissioner Bud Selig allowed MLB to loan the team money. Selig and the Wilpons are good friends, and there's absolutely nothing untoward about that.

I went to Citi Field once. The stadium was a goddamn shrine to the Brooklyn Dodgers. And they named the stadium after Citi Group, the financial organization that accepted two huge taxpayer buyouts.

The whole thing stinks, and I earnestly wish all the Wilpons' debt (refinanced time and again) crushes them.

It catches me off-guard this was so long ago.
And also makes me feel old, that someone didn't even exist then >.>

I definitely agree.

San Francisco has the Niners. Or, with their move, San Jose does. Either way one of those two shouldn't be on your list xD My bad, forgot they actually moved to Santa Clara not San Jose.

Also Orlando is getting an MLS team next season. And calling Sunrise a 'city' on par with all the others... it's a suburb of Ft. Lauderdale/Miami. Splitting hairs though.

No.

I'm a Jets and Knicks fan lol.

There is way more suffering in the world that silly sports leagues--I say this a huge sports fan.

Sure I'd love a championship from both, but I still enjoy the game themselves.

I'm also a Yankee fan, so I'm spoiled there.

Interested to know what team this is.
The Sacramento Kings. Other NBA fans are always dubious about those games being fixed, but one of the refs admitted to it. How they shut him up I don't know. I'm assuming it was with money though.

I never named New York City. :)

As a matter of fact, they have two Baseball teams (in which you just mentioned, the Yankees & the Mets), while they have the Rangers for Hockey (& soon, The Islanders as you also mentioned), & the Knicks for Basketball in which you mentioned.

But as far as the Nets go (the Brooklyn Nets), they're in Brooklyn, NY. :)

The Raiders still overall have a winning record, and have a better overall record than other teams in it's division like the Broncos and the Chargers(not to mention the fact that the Chargers don't have a Super Bowl ring).

Did Brooklyn become a city overnight? :p

Brooklyn is a borough in NYC.

Not really. If one team loses, there's a chance that another of your teams can win that week. And not looking too far in the future is crucial for fan health. Take it one game at a time and cherish every win you get.

Coming from a Clemson/Panthers/Hornets/Braves fan, so it's pretty mixed.

Those Canadian teams have pro football. At least we pretend that the CFL is pro football.

You live long enough and you'll see your favorite team have success. Of course there are exceptions. If you're 50+ and your favorite team still hasn't even made a finals (LOL Leafs), then you'll hear the sobs of self-pity amongst the laughter.
