Halo: MCC Halo 3 in 1080p/60FPS Glory - IGN First

To be replaced with games where people quit out and the entire rest of the match sucks. That's always been the worse outcome.

But there's no argument to be made here since it just isn't supported at all in MCC.

Or where 70% of the time I join a game that's halfway over and/ or my team is getting destroyed. No fun .

Thanks, now I can watch it without stuttering! Based VLC.

Hmm... it looks like Halo 3 isn't quite locked in at 60 fps. I noticed frame drops in the video that weren't caused by my player.

The video is likely recorded on a old build like two or three months ago.

It is not a problem. It improves the competitive nature of the game like comp in CS. I think it is a mechanic that discourages teamwork and communication.
well, i played Halo 10 years ago and have loved it, but as I get older I have less time to play and less of a desire for uber competitive experiences. The reality is that people quit from these games the moment they start and that leads to a bad experience for anyone sticking around or an equally bad experience by having to find another full game.

In 2014, if games want that closed off experience then they should have separate playlists for the hardcore.

Yeah, I think a casual/competitive Playlist split would be cool. Just make ranked so there is no join in progress, but allow it in unranked playlists.

Having never played the original but seen all the hype towards this, I think I've been spoilt by Destiny, this looks fricking bland! Explosions seem non existent and everything just seems too sterile.

They picked a terrible level to showcase H3. The game really shines outdoors, it had an incredible HDR implementation.

Honestly, this is stupid and will date the games more than jaggies or sub-resolutions ever did. Being outnumbered in a mp game is just a BAD experience regardless of the age of the hardware.
It's not that easy. Not only does join in progress give you zero chance to vote for what you want to play, it often times puts you in a losing game or a game that's about to end. It definitely wasn't implemented well in Halo 4.

You know what would be cool? A games browser. That way you can choose the exact map / gametype you want to play. If you JIP, at least you'll be playing what you want to play.

Halo looks bland compared to Destiny??

Which Destiny did I play?

Not sure because the one I played had some breathtaking scenery.

Ah well that might explain it because honestly looking at that video I was left very underwhelmed and wondering what all the fuss was about. Will take a closer look once there is more media available I guess.

Halo looks kind of sterile when played by others. You have to experience the mechanics yourself to understand why the gameplay is so highly regarded.

I love video players that rebuffer when rewinding. You think they'd prioritize NOT loading the same data to... I don't know... save bandwidth?!?!

even better, is when skipping ahead into the already buffered "grey" section on the timeline - it re-buffers as well.

probably the least efficient player known to the videogaming man.

While it doesn't look as visually appealing as H2A or Halo 4, you can definitely see finer details at 1080p. Like the cracks in the pavement or the rocks on the ground. With better lighting and 60fps, should be a definite improvement over Halo 3 (Xbox 360) in every imaginable way.

And hearing that music brought back so many great memories from this game. The nostalgia factor is going to be high in this one, and I can't wait for it!

Halo 3 looks gorgeous, but I was a bit disappointed to see the LOD dithering effect still in action.

Keep JiP out of Halo. Just have a better quit penalty or have the quitter only be able to rejoin the same match, but even that can be exploited.

Just fail at school and live in a van down by the river. But then become a motivational speaker.

Origin story for Prophet of Truth/Fortitude?

Come on, it's 1080p and at least 2x or postAA. To pin it all on the ign video masking the edges is unfair.

Just saying, it's a bit premature to make judgments. High motion + compression + camera motion blur isn't a fair situation in itself. I mean, we are talking about a 9Mbit/s feed for 1080p60.

There are some huge set piece encounters, and the game does have a lot of nice background scenery and animated skyboxes..

While I was never too keen on the art direction of Halo 3, particularly with the characters' faces, playing a version of this game at 60fps and with little to no aliasing, which was so prominent in the original release, sounds just lovely.

Never played this before, and well, it does look pretty good imo! Its a 2007 game at higher resolution, so I wasnt expecting more then this, since it doenst have the anniversary treatment!

About the video itself though, by the three that IGN released, that one was the worst produced. Looks great anyway, looking forward to it aswell! Now I need to see Halo 4!
