I was thinking of making a DC Comics Community thread in the community forum. Marvel gets multiple threads for its events and movies and whatever they do. I'm sure there is some like minded DC fans on GAF that would like to talk about DC related stuff without having to debate. I would like to have discussions about Futures End, Eternal, Worlds End, Multiversity and any upcoming DC events. I don't want to have to go through 3-6 pages per day and try and find discussion on these topics. I want to come into a thread and and the discussion be there. This thread has become too big. It's more of an Community thread now.
Could it be possible that the posts about the DC weeklies aren't necessarily being buried, but people aren't interested in them enough to talk about them?
I know Jedeye only reads Futures End because of how bad it is and the only things Rafa says about Futures End are reflections on why he's wasted so much money on such a bad weekly. And from the Batman Eternal posts I've read, people seem to be sort of enjoying it, but mostly it's just mediocre. In general, mediocre books don't warrant much discussion. Nobody really wants to talk about how they were vaguely entertained by a comic or how they weren't all too shocked at all about how a comic ended.
Realistically, do you really think a separate thread would spark discussion even though there's mostly apathy towards those weeklies among the people who are reading them?
I don't think the problem is that the signal to noise ratio is too low in this thread. I think the problem is that not everyone wants to discuss everything everyone else wants to discuss. I know I probably only get a response on a quarter of the posts I write about books I'm currently reading. I don't think that's because my posts are getting lost in the mix of more off-topic posts though, I think it's because nobody has anything they want to add to the discussion. And I'm okay with that. I know that if I keep posting about stuff I'm enthusiastic about, I'll eventually get a response and a discussion.
Anyways, just a few thoughts on this whole situation.
