Last I heard, Microsoft said the $50 price-cut was supposed to be a month or two-month promotion, but I believe that by the end of this deal, people won't want to buy the Xbox One at any price higher than $350 (aka the price returning to $400). I think MS will end up keeping this new price moving forward. It's possible MS is claiming the deal is temporary in order to pressure customers to "take advantage" of the limited-time offer.
Poor output from WWS so far.
They've been coasting on third-parties so far.
I will refrain from doing so this time.
Though he is responsible for the tepid output thus far.

We are 1 year into the consoles lifecycle. Count the exclusive games vs the competition. Also count the exclusive 1st party games vs the PS2 and PS3's 1st party games at this equivalent stage of their lifecycle.
If its a case of you don't like the games that have come out so far that is just down to your tastes.
Yeah, it's best for junior members like lonedigitalwolf to do what he mentioned on other gaming forums besides here.
And Disgaea 5 is PS4 exclusive.

I'm happy that XBO fans are getting excited about this deal, since if they can get their friends to join them to play online or them themselves can save a few bucks in the console they want that is fantastic.

And with that, what conclusion should one draw? Haven't you understood that its is not MCC that will eventually push the Xbox One beyond the PS4, let alone Sunset Overdrive...but the fact that the 349$ bundle includes a free game. If MS was so confident in its software selling virtues, they would not have slashed the price this drastically.
If Sony had the possibility and willingness to align the price of their console on their rival's, they would run circles around the Xbox One, first party games or not...
Then why aren't they being competitive with XB1 this holiday season?

My issue isn't with the quantity of WWS output so far, but the quality.
It's been mediocre. The fact that some of them have sold 1 million+ is irrelevant, as that isn't indicative of the games' quality.

The quality of a game is subjective. If your opinion is that you don't like the output so far then that's fine, but there are plenty of people out there who have really enjoyed games like infamous, killzone and even knack. Myself included.
Its not like the output from the competition has been stellar either. Metacritic does not tell the whole story either.
But clearly Sony are trying their best to output shit games, so they deserve to get trounced in the sales race.

Because it does not warrant the losses they would incur. Losing one month will not be some major concern; they will pulverize the Xbox One in Europe, most probably, and elsewhere. Absorbing a hundred million dollar in losses just to appease you does not make any fu***** sense, at all. MS needs this November to stay relevant in the US, desperately. Sony does not. End of story...
Given what they've put out so far, then yes, they deserve to get trounced.
None of what you're saying benefits the consumer.
Who cares if they take a bit of a loss, MS is undoubtedly taking bigger losses.
This is concern for Sony's financial well-being, which shouldn't be the consumers' concern.

The simple answer? They didn't buffer the expenditures for it.
Spending are often planned months in advance, and reacting to a sudden competitor move normally means spending more than planned,and that requires long ass meetings to sign off the extra cost.
Multinationals are a bitch to get money rolling at times. Stakeholders, etc.

I don't think Sony have to do anything when they are selling more than twice worldwide and seems that this numbers will increase during this holidays, even losing in November NPD

PS4 is the fastest selling console of all time. XB1 is getting handily beat, got outsold nearly 2:1 in the US last month (its strongest territory), got outsold during Titanfall month, got outsold during price drop month as well.
Simply put for XB1, to even be competitive towards the PS4, needs to have a price drop and bundles.

This statement would have held water last generation but at the moment the shoe is definitely on the other foot.
Theres a little start up named Nintendo that I think has made a video game at some point. Hopefully the playstation division is partnered with them when sony gives up the ghost. They would compliment each other well but i have a feeling Samsung will own the playstation brand in the future.

I agree, because Nintendo definitely has the best 1st/2nd party exclusive games out of the three current companies, besides Sony (and Sega back when they were making consoles).
Just think what would happen if they were to receive terrific 3rd party support like back on the NES/SNES days.

None of what you're saying makes any sense. MS has hundreds of millions to throw around, Sony does not. In a war of attrition, Sony would certainly lose. They are not going to bleed money for your beautiful eyes...

Id argue its doable, but unlikely.

We are one year into this console generation. I think most potential buyers already decided if they are going to buy a XONE or PS4 this 'holiday season'.
For everybody who wants a XONE, this is a great opportunity. But the real question is, will this make people change their mind and go for Xone when they originally planed to get a PS4?
