PS+ Games no longer tied to subscription(Keep them forever) - EU - Probable Error

If I'm paying for a sub and choose to quit subbing or something I shouldn't have to return the things I got when I was subbing.

I don't understand this perspective at all. Do you think that if you cancel your Netflix or Rdio subscription, you should still be allowed to access the movies you watched or the albums you listened to?

Your PS+ subscription is giving you access to the games. You don't own them. When your subscription lapses, you no longer have access to the games. How is that a problem?

Maybe the Xbox Games with Gold is something more along the lines of what you are looking for.

I hope it's not true simply because it would make publishers less likely to put their games on Plus.

I can see the logic of that sure... But honestly how many people have bought something on plus, let their subscription end, and then repurchased one of the psplus games.

I'm guessing few as a couple of months of plus are usually way way cheaper than repurchased a digital game.

Hmm,

Still no BoI....

UK here, earlier I reported having no expiration date. Still don't have an expiration date for November PS+ games.

Also still no Binding of Isaac and it's 6:32pm here.

So, I am using the PS4 and the Vita/PS3 games are yours forever, but the PS4 versions still say "as long as you have as subcription" but they all have expiration dates.

Maybe they're planning to make the PS3/Vita games free, but limit the PS4 games to the sub.

Store description has been updated on my end. It now says that you can "keep the game until your subscription ends"

some mod pls close the thread.

So does Isaac for Vita have an expiration date? The store page still says that you can keep it forever.

Update: Nevermind, the page now says until the end of your sub.

Steam world dig doesn't show an expiration date on my ps4 info screen.all my old ps+ games do.

Issac has an expiration date.

Just a small bump to acknowledge my November PS+ excluding Binding of Isaac are still registering as having no expiry dates. I wonder if they're legally obliged to keep it as-is without adding an expiry.

I'm pretty sure I got this on the US store as well. When I clicked on download I didn't get the normal "you can only play these as long as you're subscribed."

I could be wrong though.

Confiriming, this month's batch didn't have expiry dates for me except for Issac. Considering how late Issac went up, it's almost certainly an error that's been fixed.

Still, after Sony UK sent me £10 in PSN credit for no reason, I think Sony's been pretty good to me today.

Don't think they are legally obliged, but they might let it slip anyway. The cost is probably very limited, and it might not be technically straightforward to fix it retroactively.

Maybe you bought them with cash.

Possibly, I'm not cancelling my PS+ sub ever if I can help it, it's just too valuable with the amount of free games, and eventually I'll be playing online co-op. Plus SHAREplay is a genuinely amazing feature I will use so of course I need it for that, but still cool to have these few games for free.

Maybe you bought them with cash.

No I've checked, it's all free games and the receipt I got from Sony to my inbox verifies that.

For those catching up to the thread late, when EU PS+ members added the November PS+ games to the store, when ordered to your account there was no expiry date. This wasn't true for US residents but for those in the EU if you downloaded it before a certain time it didn't have an expiry. The Binding of Isaac was late in being added to the store, so when that was added to my account it had an expiry date so it shows it was a mistake on Sonys end.

I think that with how archaic the PSN architecture is, it would probably be difficult for them to "tag" games issued permanently mistakenly through PS+ and give them the proper PS+ expiration date.

And that it would be a bigger headache for them if they accidentally tag legitimately-purchased games and give them expiration dates, oh the outrage.

Which makes me think they'll let it slip. In the same way they don't revoke GOW and WO3U vita from those who have obtained them using the glitches.

Man, would've been amazing, I'd so love to turn my sunroof slim into an insane game cache with the largest hdd supported. I'll probably do it at some point anyway even with expiration, but without it'd be way cooler.

Nothing in my library has lost its expiration date (EU).

Would it though? How many people actually pay for PS+ so they can keep old games? I'd bet most subscribe so they can get their hands on new games.

It's certainly a factor for me, since I have a large backlog of presumably good games in the IGC that I just haven't had time to play. Losing all of those is just as much of a disincentive as losing future games.

I'm in the "I think this is an error" boat. Would be awesome if true, but I feel they would've spoke about this in PR of some sort, it's something worth advertising about if this was the case. Maybe in time it'll clear up. Or, could relate to how cross-buy titles work. Just speculating at this point.

Except that XBL Games with Gold doesn't work that way. Those games go away when your XBL Gold account expires.

They do not go away with X360 Games, only XB1 Games. I have a few friends on X360 who constantly lapse in and out of Gold membership, and their Games with Gold downloads are never affected. X360 Gold members keep their downloads regardless of current membership.

Someone typed those lines is. And in multiple languages. Best subscription on the planet if true. Definitely better than health insurance.

I still prefer it over health insurance even if this isn't true. Pretty solid service.

I do it for both old and new games. I wouldn't have as much incentive to have it if I didn't get new games here and there though, so it's nice.

This is a pretty big deal!

As a company you should make an official statement and not let your customer find out by themselves...

Would be nice if that's the case, that part would be on par with Xbox Live's Games with Gold, since you can keep those games after a subscription ends.

As the previous poster stated. MS has done this all along with games with gold. I wonder if this is going to affect the quality of the games available negatively though.
