So much fucking drama over nothing. Modern gamers just want to suck the fun out of everything on social media instead of actually playing the games.

Single player games not doing as well on Steam
I believe I pointed out to you the top games at the time you made that statement were mostly SP games lol

Also the list is by revenue and that includes MTX. If any other store / console / whatever did it that way you'd see lots of GAAS games near or at the top.

Fuck me that intro is long and boring.
Wish they just dumped me into the world like botw did in a way.

Anyway i'm almost out of the intro.
Don't want to do that ever again xD

I gotta play more of the first one. I've only played like an hour.
I'm not a fan of meters constantly draining like the hunger and sleep mechanics.
I don't think that adds "fun"
I really wanted to enjoy the first one but I just couldn't stand the combat. I absolutely sucked at it and couldn't be arsed to "git gud".

yea I've hardly got to any combat. So I don't even really know how it works yet. I just moved back and forth and hacked my way through the first few fights.

Eh....not sure you were replying to me in that instance, but sure

And without using a 100 million dollars IP and with a budget 5 times lower. Jeez I am a game publisher what should I produce if I want success? I should be... creative without been politically correct? It's so hard.

How's the actual gameplay? The first seemed more like a sim with a good story, but overall gameplay wise a lot of walking around and slower paced. No idea if that's actually the case, just why I never played the first one based on clips I saw. Even for this, I see nearly 3 hour videos like this:

The majority is walking and cutscenes. I just don't know if I could do 50+ hours of that, unless it gets more involved later on.

I like that we have reached the point that (in the main) games don't sell based on historic studio successes or name recognition anymore. Small developers like Warhorse have come along and disrupted the status quo and I love it. Good stories and gameplay over design by committee all day every day.

what do you mean by "don't sell based on historic studio successes or name recognition anymore", first game is pretty much a cult-classic.
it peaked at 100k like 7 years ago.

I mean that a game like this can come along and curb stomp a game like Dragon Age, and that's a good thing.

This is great and all. But, I have been playing about 17 minutes and haven't seen a single 4 hour long, unskippable, hot, sweaty, up-close and extremely detailed man on man on man on man cut scene yet. I am extremely disappointed.

Game has DLSS 4 straight out the gate

Good job Warhorse, good job.

Edit - Wrong info. Not so good warhorse :p

Damn If dragon age was "topping the charts" at under 100K what's this then? Breaking the charts lol?

meanwhile...

Sony is overestimating the appeal of their games with the pricing.
For $60 you can buy this brand new highly rated RPG......or a technical mess of a port of 1+ years old Spiderman 2, a samey sequel with pretty mid word of mouth.

Are people really taking shots at Spiderman 2? The game is over a year old and has over 10 million in sales. Very weird to try and bring up Spiderman 2 like it's some sort of failure.

Mine doesnt. It doesnt even show up in the nvidia app as a game

Ah sorry, seems like the reddit thread was wrong

Haven't bought the game so I was going by the title I saw over there. So game has 3.7.10. You have to do the workaround to get DLSS 4.

sorry :goog_confounded:

I fixed it. I needed to add steam folder in the search category in the app and it found the game. Gonna see how it looks now before bed

lol! woke and anti-woke crowd's inevitable meeting with the reality.
sorry guys you are all fringe idiots, always have been
This nonsense has no power anymore, we don't care what you extreme leftists think, we want to game and enjoy it. Go to some echo chamber where you can relieve yourself.

Just launched the game, mega excited!!!

I think you'd fall under the same category as me - this game is not for you (or me). What you see is what you get. If you like systems based games where random events happen and you can chart your own course, but where the core mechanics aren't the focus.

woke slop.
braindead moron, fuck off

First two-three hours are linear prologue. To get you into the story. Then it ends, and you are in the open world where you have to fend for yourself. True open world RPG. It is not 50+ hours of linear walking and cutscenes.

Modern gaming in a nutshell unfortunately. Various "sides" hooting and hollering over nothing in most cases, just absorbing whatever their preferred social channel or content creator says. This has been a perfect example.

woke slop.
Exhibit A.
