i aint watching any of that shit except for apocalypse and the last wolverine movie (salute to the gawd's retirement). also i'll check out fantastic four if it's any good, i like the cast and director even if it's sounding like a mess.
maybe this FF is a parody
you guys ever consider that?
Or maybe it'll be a good film and everyone is all 'OMG' over an actors interpretation of a character BEFORE he's seen the finished film.
I mean... it really does seem like the obnoxious MCU defense force is out again. 'Oh, they'll screw this up. Give it to Marvel.' The film is directed by the guy from Chronicle, who carried that film above an awful script and made it visually lovely; it has a solid cast of actors; it's doing something new with the concept to differentiate it from the old versions and other comic-book films.
Now it could be awful, but so far we don't know enough about it. Which, IMO, I like. Stuff like The Avengers: AOU already has most of the story beats known to us, and in this day and age I like the idea of - shock - a studio not spoiling an entire film to promote a bunch more films.
And to be fair, I might not be the biggest Nolan fan, but his handling of the Batman franchise was done with respect(to the point where, y'know, regardless of the lack of the more fantastical elements within the Batman series, it still oozed those Batman feels).
pls pls PLS be Old Man Logan for the final Jackman Wolverine movie
Oh god. They're driving that thing into the groundthey're also doing a solo gambit movie and trying to get something planned for mystique
This is the one I'm talking about:I thought reed richard is ultimate dr doom?
what kind of sick bastard looks at Doom and says "nah, fuck all that shit, let's make him a blogger"
The fact that there is virtually no publicity/marketing or footage for the film is a strong indication that Fox has no confidence in the FF and that they know they have a stinker on their hands.
This is the one I'm talking about:

This is the same one featured earlier in this thread with goat legs.

?Doombot.
Also ultimate reed could never be doom. Victor may have some pathetic L's, but he never got beat by a sentient brain tumor.
Wait a solo gambit movie?
I like Gambit but uhh no thats gonna bomb hard.
Maybe pair him with X-23Wait a solo gambit movie?

It's not due out until next August, dude. And they've already penciled in a sequel.
Besides, quality has nothing to do with it. Thor 2, MOS and X-Men Origins: Wolverine were all staggeringly mediocre, and made profits. Heck, Hunger Games is a God-awful crime against cinema and makes an absolute fortune.
The thing is, using buzzwords like "grounded", "gritty", and aiming for a younger, hip cast while focusing on taboos regarding the internet, that almost feels straight out of the last decade(00s).
We are past the first decade of the new millennium, and super hero movies have moved on from being the "gritty, grounded" shit that was being shoved in our faces during the 00s.
I understand your concern, but Josh Trank did really good work with dark and gritty (which is usually not my thing) in Chronicle, so I'm hopeful this will be a worthwhile reimagining after all.

Grounded and Gritty shouldn't be in the same time zone as the Fantastic Four.
Regardless of what he did with Chronicle, "grounded" and "gritty" goes against the very nature of the Fantastic Four.
I mean "Fantastic" is in the fucking title, if they wanted to make a "grounded" movie maybe they should be using another property.
At the SDCC, Avengers AOU, Ant-Man and even Batman v Superman, which doesn't come out for another 2 years, showed footage. Meanwhile FF which wrapped filming for sometime, has zero marketing or footage. That's pretty damning evidence that Fox has a critical and financial bomb on their hands.
Only Namor gets to toot that horn.
DOOM is 1000% more badass here owning Namor than he will be in this stupid film.

What a coincidence:
Dr. Travis E. Doom, Associate Professor of CompSci/Eng
This guy teaches at Wright State University in Ohio

There's a Dr. Ruddy Doom in Belgium.
The part that boggles my mind is how many people are all 'HOW CAN THEY RUIN THE FANTASTIC FOUR?' and yet the comic-book is dying because no-one reads it, or has given a rats ass about it since Hickman split.
Dude, seriously?
Fantastic Four isn't going to get any serious press from SDCC with that level of competition.
How can you consistently fuck up Doom? What's next Lex Luthor as a Mark Zuckerberg type person?

kkGiven how pathetic ultimate doom's demise was, it is obvious that that thing was just a doombot.
#believe
Also apply that logic to the waspbot.

Literally them showing anything at all would have gotten more press than Ant-Man. Even if it was just just the uniforms or a scene of the team quarreling in the living room. We are talking about Marvel's first family. They hold a special place in the heart of everyone who enjoys Marvel comics.
Yea but it could just as easily turn into a negative, especially if the footage looks bad. I mean can you even imagine the outrage if they unveiled lonely hacker DOOM at SDCC? The movie would have died right there.
Yes, the current FF book is underperforming, so let's just ignore every other part of these beloved characters' long history.
My point was that people get angry about a 'bad film' but don't support the comic. And, as a result, it's getting cancelled. If they really cared about the characters, they'd read the damn comic. The whole 'this film will suck' thing has a hipster vibe; a bunch of people rebelling against something they don't even buy monthly.
I'm sure there would be riots even.
