I'm impressed, some of these actually look really good!
I've been working the character creator for like 4-6 hours on different occasions but still haven't managed to make myself a decent male (the elf race being especially hard to work with). It doesn't help that all my characters end up looking really goofy out of the CC because of different lighting and facial animations. They also tend to do this thing in cutscenes where they push their brows together looking super sad and/or constipated.
I wish that too. This one is basically the first preset with a bunch of smaller tweaks. I think I generally gave her a bit more round features and little bit of a wider jaw perhaps. Hard to say tho with no pics or anything :/I wish there was an import feature. I think your character looks cool...any tips how to get something similar..or the same?
Comical how there's such a disparity between the quality of the hair and basically every other graphical feature. Everything looks amazing except this one, glaring thing.
I just got lucky with my character. Made her in like 2 hours. I think the thing is, it's a lot of trial and error. What I've found, the character creator is NOT accurate when it comes to hair color, or makeup. For instance, you pretty much can only have the blush slider up a couple ticks, or else you will look like a clown in game (even though in character creator, it's very light on the cheeks). Some hair colors look much worse in game too.
I think it might have to do with lighting etc. But yeah, you almost just have to get lucky with it. Another thing I find is, jump back and forth between the various default heads, and mess with the eyes first. At least, that kind of helped me decide which default head looked best to work from. Also, make sure to check out "head shape" or whatever. That is what I tweaked to get my character looking right (I used the small face, which looked hideous at first. But then I made the eyes smaller, and moved them up, and started to make facial parts proper proportion to the new head shape I picked).
Then it all starts to come together. I think if you get the eyes + nose down first, then you can start working around the other attributes and start sculpting the rest to look right. I think the biggest challenge is getting the eyes and nose to look just right (because really, those are the two major defining features, and then you can start tweaking the jaw/cheeks and getting other things to look right).
THAT'S WHAT WAS BUGGING ME ABOUT IT! I knew it looked like someone else, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
Thanks for the tips! You are definetly correct that the head shape (and not only from the front) is a big factor in the overall look, I will have to take that into consideration more next time :d. Also noticed the difference in hair color going from CC to live, will be sticking with black instead of dark brown from now on!
The good thing about all this is I've had plenty of time to think about and try out the different classes and finally settled on archer(though mages spells are fricking awesome as well).
Really impressed with the character creator.
Exactly this.
I ended up making a "generic looking" character. I feel the CC isn't actually as good as it looks. Most stuff I want to make seems to be possible but... it just isn't. It feels like something always looks "off" when going too far from the presets. With femElf anyway.
She's completely different from what I usually like/make. Not horrible but she isn't "mine". I hope I can make better ones from the other races...

My babe Inquisitor Godot Trevelyan!!!! She's a warrior with the Reaver subclass.~
I finished the game but I really want to use her again because I liked her so much lol. I'll eventually get to using the other races (I already have a few planned), I'll probably just play around in the CC for a while just for fun before hopping back into finishing Godot's remaining side quests. Tbh though it took a few tries to get her right because as soon as I left the CC certain things that weren't noticeable before just popped out like woah lol.
She looks just like Stefanie Joosten

My qunari. Be gentle.![]()
I actually RP Qunari racism in my games. Did it in Origins, doing it again in Inquisition. There is a distinct lack of Qunari in this thread. I can only conclude that many of you are racists.
Before I get home and start again: which hair color should I pick if I want black hair in-game? The one that looks blueish in the CC? The darkest brown looked more like chestnut in-game.
The one I have above you is the darkest natural shade. The blue-ish one is supposed to be true black, which is obviously not a natural hair color, but there's nothing resembling naturally "black" hair which actually has an extremely dark brown hue.

I came across this Inquisitor on the Bioware forums. Literally floored me with how close they came to Daenerys:
He looks like Andrea Pirlo

I just used the stock character, really have no big interest in character creators.

For some reason, I want to be a total douche to everyone I meet in the game. lol
hei, have you some tips to make a "glare" look? (basically like the one in my avatar, it's a dragons dogma character)
I had not much time try, but it seemed hard to achieve.
Under eye size, drag the marker up be down to open or close the eyes. Slightly closed tends to look like glaring, especially if you set the eyebrow position low and adjust the brow depth option to a lower height.
Elven Matt Smith/11th Doctor!!?!?!?
Seems like this has turned out to be a popular hair cut. At any rate I tried to give her some elvish green accents that jive with the inquisitor's glowing hand.

Liking the variety of characters in the thread!

It's the shape of the head. The other hair cuts don't sit as well.
I just realized - I accidentally created Shrek
