Gematsu: Sony to hold Playstation Experience event in December

What if the insiders that are insinuating a FF7R aren't being completely honest? What if its a remake/remaster of Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core? Or worse... Dirge of Cerberus?
 
My speculations.

I don't think this involves EA due to their relationship with Microsoft, especially considering their involvement with the EA Access service.

I could see this as another Bayonetta type situation and have it be Dragons Dogma 2 which to me is best case scenario.


If this is truly meltdown inducing, I just don't see it with Crash, SF5 or even a FF7 remake. I'm looking at franchises that are in an upswing and not stagnant or trending downward.

Looking at Sony's relationships with developers an interesting possibility comes to play for me.
Sony came to this particular developer while designing the ps4 and actually made changes to their plans due from feedback from them. This developer made arrangements to port its biggest game to Sony's struggling platform. A third party title that would cause an internet meltdown for sure Borderlands 3

I hate third party exclusives so I'm hoping its dragon's dogma 2.
 
If it's Devil May Cry 5 or something equivalent I can see some meltdowns happening all across the internet...and some buyers regret post-black friday for some lol

I hope this event/reveals live up to the hype! (doubt it tho)
 
I think it's possible that some wires got crossed and whatever the big third party exclusive is, it's only timed exclusive. I mean, that's the one detail that always gets messed up, even when the developer is brought out on stage at the conference. Who's to say somebody didn't just hear wrong?

EDIT: I guess what I'm saying is just because it premieres at this show doesn't mean it's an exclusive.
 
For Adam personally, his “favorite moment was getting to announce to the whole developer community that we had double the RAM to 8GB of GDDR5,” because they did originally have 4GB of GDDR5 on the system.

Recounting the story of how they went from 4GB to 8GB, Adam was actually at Gearbox (Borderlands), with Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox, telling him, “If you go with 4GB of GDDR5, you are done.” Following that statement, Boyes says that the entire room of about 30 people added in that “you guys, you never listen, you’ve never been good at this stuff.”

After hearing this, Adam says he had a mini-breakdown, and it wasn’t until he reflected on this and asked himself the question, “Are we going to be the best console in every single category?” before things started moving, because “the answer used to be no.”

So, Adam went back to the developers about the possibility of doing 8GB of RAM, getting responses like “that would be incredible.” He then took all the feedback to Tokyo, got the thumbs up, and the rest is history.

I'm going to be happy with whatever we get but i've to say that DMC is the one Game i really dont want it to be. I can't play this "Character Action"/Stylish Action Genre or whatever the correct name is, i just can't enjoy it :(
 
Question: Does a game have to be a big surprise to be a big deal? Or any game that most people wanted is still a big deal? Were you less excited for star wars because you already knew it's bound to come? Just curious to know what it takes to break GAF.

This is by no means a hint. Just trying to stay involved in the thread :D

Interesting theory but it falls within the same scope of a lot of the other speculation. That is to say... its a game that really doesn't help the developer by being exclusive, and they likely don't need Sony to help fund the game.

Crash, FF7, Shenmue... these all make sense from the funding perspective. The fact that its been so long for these franchises, though, muddles the possibility. But I think folks are more willing to accept that than funding existing multiplats when its not really needed.

For me if its a game I wanted and finally getting to see it in motion, that's a pretty big deal.

Surprises are awesome eg TLoU Reveal (holy shit) though I love having a game I desperately want confirmed

I'm really hoping we get new footage and release dates for SOMA and Rime.

SOMA because it's the follow up to Amnesia, one of the scariest games ever, and it has an incredible style and setting with a really intriguing premise.

Rime because it looks like a spiritual successor to one of my favourite games of all time, Ico.

Hoping both release during Q1/2 of 2015.

Ono has had a producer credit for another PS4 game on his Linkedin. And just this week another Capcom producer (Jun Takeuchi) mentioned in Famitsu that they'd be making a PS4 game announcement soon that'll turn heads in the west.
 
Brothers in Arms fits everything but the shitstorm. I can't see Gaf crashing over it at all, but I could see the franchise resurfaceing as an exclusive in a modern or future time peroid.

I really can't imagine a Borderlands 3 announcement anytime soon. They already said that the Pre-Sequel will get a PS4/XB1 port and Telltale's "Tales Of" series is also coming soon.
 
The latest issue of Edge has a preview of Gearbox's new game Battleborn that says "To all intents and purposes, no such game [a new Borderlands] is in development".

Even though i've never played any of the series Games, i would like a new Wild Arms. Western Setting makes everything more badass and it's a RPG, sounds like a combo made in heaven. I need to play those Games one day :(

Yeah but Randy Pitchford already said that with Borderlands 2... and it was announced a couple of months later.

Kingdom Hearts is a Mess. I had to buy like every other console for it. It's kinda weird that KH 1.5 and 2.5 aren't on Xbox considering KH3 is going to be.

Considering the shit storm over DMC4 going multiplatform I would 100% say that there will be some meltdowns going on if DMC5 goes PS4 exclusive.

Not that I think it will happen (nor do I think it's a good thing for the series unless this is the only way it gets made) but in this thread anything goes apparently.
