Well he was right about the game, never said unplayable but just boring and pretty but not much fun to play.

I'd sooner trust what people playing on GAF have to say than I would jaded game reviewers who have to play these games because its their job. So you didn't like it. Fine. That's one man's opinion.
My guess, people are angry they did not receive their ''free'' version.

Now that I got a HDD upgrade, I wouldn't mind getting it via PS+ version upgrade.

This game is absolutely incredible. And now with photo mode and weather, it just doesn't get any better! Best racer I've played in years.
For those wondering, I'd say the online portions are working 95%. Which is what any other game would do these days. So it's far from being broken.
And also to the poster that said only a few thousand people from gaf bought this, if a few thousand means about 500k, then yeah, a few thousand people bought it. SMH

Was close to buying. But...
Friend has it, bought it $60 at launch. Digital. Turned it on a few times, hasn't turned it back on. I trust his judgement and he said stay away.
Also realized I'm gonna wait until the PS+ version anyway to try it out.

Game is great and fully functioning now. Weather just came out today too. 34.99 is a pretty damn decent price, I would jump on it if you are interested in Racers.
I'm going to make a guess that PS+ version will be out in February 2015. I'm sure they want to give some time for those of us who bought in already to enjoy the game before they release it to everyone since it could hurt the servers. Hopefully they got everything in much better order now that Sony also stepped in to help them.

If what u say is true and your friend hasn't turned it on since launch, then I'm sorry but your friend doesn't know what he's talking about. It's like a totally different game now.
At the very least, if he is really your friend, you should go over to his house and try it yourself now with all the patches installed. Then u can make up your own mind.

That depends on what his friend didn't like about the game. If he didn't like the physics and handling, he probably isn't gonna like it now because the game isn't any different from launch really in terms of handling (I think they changed the braking a bit). If he put down the game because of the connection issues, then yeah going in now would be insanely good considering the game's online has been working for a better part of the last month.

It is definitely time to buy it. It is absolutely phenomenal. I feel like someone who is good at making threads should make a thread promoting the game - the weather, photo mode, the game in general, the fact that online is now working. This game needs to sell well.

On the contrary, he's a massive racing fan, that's why he bought it day 1 and on digital, no less. His issues were nothing related to what was missing. I've brought up this patch, but, think the ship has sailed on his interest. I guess congrats, Evo, for getting a sale.
Like I said, I'll wait until the PS+ version so I can make up my own mind.

Edit: Specifically the later pages since the update is actually out by those pages.
We have like 2 threads going on right now as well as the OT, don't think it really needs anymore lol. Hell you have 2 Driveclub threads right on the front page right now, and considering this is a sale thread, probably will sell people on the game anyway. Plus the Photo thread is right below. Unless you mean combining all the threads, but I see no reason for another Driveclub thread honestly.
I would wait for the PS+ version, if people are really gonna want to buy into the game, that demo will do the trick when it releases.
