Tomb Raider DE had those, too... For some reason I don't remember too much complaining about it.
That is why it was more baffling. Even more so when you can get lots of bullets to the chest and a single one kills you on a cutscene. It irritated me when I saw that in the video too, but RAD has stressed that the QTE's in this game are all branching for the most part, so failing just opens up another possibility in the same QTE sequence. One of the demos from before showed that off.
Hey Aerosmith says if I dream on my dream will come true![]()
Unreal, I've lost my skepticism.
I will go out on a limb and say this is the best looking game I have ever seen; it's hard for my eyes to behold.
Blows UC4 away visually.

While i wouldnt go si far as to say its absolutely wrong... I agreed that, while subtle, the shift in camera breaks immersion. Sticking with the players camera position would be ideal. This is the absolute WRONG way of doing it. It's jarring and disorienting and interrupts the flow of the gameplay. The camera should remain basically as it was, perhaps panning/zooming just a bit for emphasis, but nothing jarring camera-wise.
Well, it doesn't matter how you do it, people will groan anyway. Rape and genital mutilation toward male characters in a game? Ignored because the female characters aren't protected- pull it off shelves. Female characters protected in a game? Groaning.
You don't protect them, their violence or death, and overall character are a plot piece (regardless of whether she failed to protect herself or not), or the player is meant to derive some type of pleasure in the character's plight/demise. You do protect them, you infantalize them. Of course, it's important to distinguish context, which you seem to have failed considering both a female and male member of the team received that same treatment in these specific scenes and contexts.
A lot about shitty storytelling in a largely interactive medium used to make me "groan," but these kinds of thoughtless comments produce a lot more these days. *groan* indeed.
It seems like the similar moments in GoW Ascension. You can dodge freely and attack when there's an opening. Kind of like a more deadly Punch Out.this is gameplay, right? curious to know how this actually plays. game still looks absolutely amazing in terms of graphics. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Maybe..but UC4 is still a year off and they're targeting 60fps.
Wow I see Sir Galahad using a pipe against the Lycan. It seems so cool as I can use environment as a weapon
BLOWS UC4 away? Come on man.
Visuals among all else get a passing grade. Gameplay wise it isn't trying to be ambitious, which is fine, and almost certainly why I won't buy it at asking price.
Really? I'd give the nod to The Order as well but it's not a huge gulf between the two.I agree. UC4 was not visually impressive to me at all. I know it's early though

dude I about died laughing at that gif....I am so tempted to read this thread and watch video's but i'm going in blind, i'm still hyped from that first E3 trailer, I saw a quick glimpse of the lycans, wish they were more like this, but you can't win them all

Exactly what you said, playing the Order 1886 made Bloodborne feel like a tedious chore. Bloodborne is probably doing itself a favor not releasing in the same month.
I don't! I've been playing games in that aspect ratio for years and I think it looks really good.Theres a big difference but both games are distinct in their look. On visuals alone - The Order looks like "a bigger leap". I wish they'd get rid of those black bars tho.
They'll probably only appear the first time. Public demos always have to have this stuff on all the time. Will you be able to turn of those help hud icons? Way too much hand holding going on.
Wat?
I'm talking about the gameplay feed not assets. The Order blows it away currently
Every person who has played it said it was smooth. IGN even made a point of noting it since it's been shakey on previous builds. To those who played the game, is the frame rate smooth and stable? I haven't seen anyone here talking about frame rate so I am kind of curious.
It's a case of art style, presentation, and opinion. The Order is far better at it imo.
I thought UC4 looked really bland.
They release over a month apart.

That's one thing that I love about this gen so far, a lot of the most impressive looking games are coming from teams not previously known for tech and visuals. It's really awesome to see a team like Sucker Punch who made OK looking games make a killer looking open world title and a team that hasn't worked on hardware stronger than the Wii before show the big boys how it's done. When I saw the Lycan gameplay a few months ago and heard the dialog between it and Galahad I was so impressed that I watched it over a few times. Even if there are QTE's and cut scenes who wouldn't want to experience this? Stop hating. I'm giving RAD props - they're doing this coming from making PSP games.
They made those graphics - a PSP team!
Lol dude its one character model. It doesn't tell us anything about UC4's lighting, shadow quality, particle systems, AO, AA etc.
They both look absolutely fucking turbo uber amazing in their own way.I don't wanna turn this into a UC4 vs The Order thread so i'll stop here but calling it "not visually impressive" is a bit weird... anyway The Order looks insanely good, how the hell they did that is beyond me. I can't wait to see some real direct feed footage.

I don't think protecting anyone in a game or in a story is necessarily bad. But I do get a bit tired of the "protect the female" thing because it's done so often.

I see. RaD should be proud of themselves. A game with gorgeous graphics, stable frame rate, and solid gameplay is a really big achievement for themYes honestly feels much smoother than 30fps not sure why but it does.

...
hands down one of sexiest games i've ever seen.
This is the final in-game model.

However, I thought I would see some more weapons in the demo![]()
