So there are multiple eBay listings for preorders of the store exclusives. With the horror stories in this thread though, I want to pose the question: Is it worth it to pay? I don't want to throw $170 down for something that may not even come to fruition.

I preordered all of wave two on the day they went up and have estimated delivery for the 17th on zelda, diddy, and mac but none have actually shipped. I'm getting awfully antsy since others in this thread have actual shipping notifications.

This is mostly true from what understand. However last year I did buy a 3ds from them during Black Friday sold and shipped by Amazon.

Still, the disagreement seems to be over hardware, not accessories. Amazon sells a lot of Nintendo accessories, including these amiibos.

I really think there is a chance. But with the disagreement and the fact that Amazon is online only, it's possible it won't happen, sure. Maybe even likely it won't happen, but not impossible.

There was a freak week or two where Amazon has basic Blue and Red XLs available, but apparently they acquired them through abnormal means.

Also, even with games, Amazon sells out of Nintendo game stock for almost every November release constantly. Mario 3D World last year was OoS most of the holiday last year, and Captain Toad constantly since it released. People then just go to other retailers, buy for MSRP, and resell on Amazon for 1.5 times the price or more, which Amazon doesn't mind, since they make a lot of money off those scalpers, and don't have to give Nintendo as much business all the same.

So I went to a Gamestop pretty far away from my usual place to see if I was able to get a few more Shulk pre-orders, since they are sold out everywhere and my buddies didn´t preorder at Smash´s launch like I did (lol).

I was able to find Metroid Prime Trilogy with a perfect case and manual for 45 bucks, buy 2 fox and one samus, and the guy told me I could preorder Shulk if I want before I even asked him. I said "Sure" and he bring them up to the computer and entered into the system and all that.

Once he was done, he told me that he just got word that the release date was set for Wave 3: January 21st. I was surprised by it and asked him if he just got the news and he told me he had just received the info from the main office and they can prepare for it, that was also the reason he could open preorders again since they where just available for the California area again.

In lesser news, Target had 2 little macs, 2 diddys and one zelda when I arrived, took both macs, one diddy and zelda, another two guys where there to buy a Wii U so I asked them if they wanted the Little Mac amiibo so I could leave them for them, but they told me they only wanted the $250 consoles.

Oh, and Best Buy won´t sell Zelda until December 17 and Little Mac until December 19, no word on Diddy Kong.

Target told me I could expect Luigi, Captain Falcon and Pit "by next weekend", same with TRU but they weren´t as sure. The target girl I think was important since she actually mentioned the shipping issues and was bossing around everyone else.

Target One Saturday:
See one Zelda on the shelf.
Try to check out, register says hold till the 14th. Checkout person has no idea what to do and cancels our entire shopping cart for some reason. My wife takes Zelda to customer service to hold.

Target One Today:
Me: "Get any wave 2?"
Emp: "Oh you looking for Cap Falcon and Pit?"
Me: ?!!
Emp: "We don't have any"

Target Two:
Me: "Why is there a Luigi featured "sale" tag? Do you have him in stock?!"
Emp: (scans id) "oh we are sold out" (also scans empty Diddy tag for me)

Gamestop:

A healthy wall full of Zeldas. Ask about Diddy and Mac

Meanwhile my preorders from Best Buy are rotting away. If they come I will have a Zelda available to give (though it doesn't look like it will be rare).

Problem is that not getting some of them now could end up being a lot more expensive and involve a lot more running around in the long run. For people who truly do want to collect them its kinda now or possibly never. Sure its possible that 6-8 months from now the rare ones come back but there is no guarantee especially if Nintendo intends to make more lines of these things.
Plus we are all too far gone to show any restraint now lol

I went to 7 stores today (2 Best Buys, 2 Walmarts, Toys r Us, Future Shop, and an EB Games) and every one of them only had the standard one from wave 1, apart from maybe 10 Zeldas I saw, total. Not even any of Fox! Toys r Us only had Peach left, and 20 or so of them at that. I thought wave 2 was supposed to be out today, but apparently it was 2 days ago? Gonna hit up target tomorrow.
