There is some serious butthurt in this thread. It is a far from uncommon opinion that the Wii U currently has the best library of the three consoles. Why shouldn't Nintendo capitalize on this?
So what? Obviously there's no objective criteria for what constitutes a "great" game. But it's probably accurate to say that a large number of people will enjoy a game that meets the criteria Nintendo has used here.

Sony or Microsoft will never reach the quality level that Nintendo games has, but this is only my opinion
The best selling console isn't always the one with the most/best games.
Sales are a popularity contest and lots of things affect that.

The actually fact they had to list both Bayonetta 1 and 2 and New SMB on both systems plus the HD ports of SMW and Zelda and games that are actually on other systems!?

Popularity is the only objective measure we have since people tend to buy what they like. Obviously most people seem to think that the Wii U doesn't have the best games which is why they are going with the PS4 and XB1.
It's a lot better argument than "Because I said so", which is what most Nintendo supporters claim.

I've always been the first to point out Nintendo ran into serious trouble generations ago when they lost meaningful 3rd party support. Even so, it does strike me as funny given the year gaming has had, to consider that right now 3rd parties don't really have that much to be proud about compared to Nintendo. So many disappointing franchise launches, broken games, and re-masters being used to fill up space.
Makes me think of the general vibe from just a year or two ago. It seemed that the general feeling in gaming was the moment other next-gen consoles launched, Nintendo would be utterly forgotten and never mentioned again. Their quaint little primitive games being obliterated before the nuclear glory of games like, um, Watch Dogs, which surely promised to take us all into the Matrix at last.
Yet here we are, with so much attention on Nintendo. Funny how this keeps happening.

Rayman Legends is amazing on Wii U. One of the best 2 player co-op experiences I've ever had. One player on the gamepad touch controls, the other playing the game traditionally. We swapped controllers every couple of levels.
What's funny is that PS3 is supposed to be a gaming console, I guess. And the first thing that came into Sony's mind is "It's a BluRay player", which is followed with "Stream movies and TV".
I guess they had their priorities. Almost feels like a XBone.

PS4 putting out quality games at more than twice the rate of WiiU = garbage year. Makes sense.
they specifically list out current generation systems, which the ps3 and 360 haven't been for over a year.

I didn't ignore anything. I simply stated the truth that most people don't agree that Nintendo has the best games. If you deny that fact then you have to come up with some explanation why people think Nintendo has the best games yet they decide to pay more money to get the XB1 or PS4 instead.
Because PCs and consoles aren't equivalent goods, and the fact that people buy PCs for more than just gaming.

What sales mean is that due to a myriad of factors, a shitload of people bought a product at the same time. What those factors are could mean anything.
