Uh, did anyone who says the TTK is too fast play CE?

Also, can I ask for huge favor of having my sprint poll linked in OP? HaloGAF results are getting dwarfed by r/Halo (about 44 entries from here, over 1000 from r/Halo) so I'd like to hopefully try to get some better visibility here.

CE's TTK is actually pretty reasonable when you exclude the pistol from the equation. The CE pistol drops people faster than anything in Halo 5 but I think the average TTK for the entire Halo 5 weapon sandbox is faster than CE's sandbox.

After playing about 7 matches with headphones on, I have to say the sound design is great.

Yes love the way everything sounds. Hit markers and no shield are great indicators. St times there is alot going on, but they are really heard over that. Perfect.

Weapon differences will be more profound I think in larger maps.

In larger maps, I believe the BR and DMR will be like the SMG and AR in CQB, redundant. The DMR is a mini-Sniper Rifle and the BR can easily take its place or vice versa. I think there only needs to be one mid-close range weapon and one mid-far weapon, otherwise "AR is too powerful, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh"

I don't see how. It was inferior to the previous games and the following games were superior.

The sandbox was the epitome of mediocrity. What happened to the BR and Pistol alone ruined it.

The missile pod was amazing though. I miss that thing.

No. And the pistol was nerfed in H2, not H3.

And I love the H3 BR. Took more skill to lead shots and shoot as projectiles instead of hitscan.

I keep getting matched up with semi-pros and pros; I've been losing all day.

I can't get a single kill in AR 1v1 battles and everybody else seems just fine.

Assists galore.

Search times are still super long.

Truth sucks.

I think a big part of the problem is that the ranking/mm system overestimated in those first 10 games and I got placed far above my real skill level.
 
Opinions, bro. I happen to agree with him.

i just expect more of Halo and I wouldn't want Halo 3 of all games to be a model for future titles.

Personally, i think ZBNS is the best Halo has ever played. I just didn't like that it was only in the MLG playlist because I don't want to sweat to play good Halo settings.

I never had issues with that. But I have a good connection.

Well there ya go. If you had a good connection you were a H3 warrior.

I think the initial ranking needs to be based off more games. I've been battling to just get into Gold because during the preview last weekend I got teamed up with some really bad teammates. All of tonight though I was only matched with gold and onyx players while I'm stuck as a silver since I haven't been able to string together 6-8 wins in a row to jump up to Gold I.

Truth is getting better the more I play it but the colors are still screwed.

Is it possible to get into a match when you're in a party? My buddy and I keep trying and are having no luck. We will see players pop in and then 2-3 people quit before the game starts and then we're stuck in searching for players. When I play solo I have no problems. But in a party we are getting nothing going.

i think truth will be good if it was 30% smaller and less purple. anything to change that ridiculous pink to car sightline.

regret will probably be the better midship.
 
Okay, what is going on?

Every time I try to find a game, it loads the lobby, then starts strobing out and eventually times out. I can't get into a game at all. It was working fine earlier.
 
Gameplay is a lot of fun when you can actually play a game with some good teammates. I know this is still only the beta, but with all the connection issues, some lag and the monstrosity that was the MCC launch, I'm definitely not in day 1.

I love how strong the pistol is, I'm genuinely impressed with this game. As someone who loves halo 2/3 I like how fresh this game feels. Let's see if they can deliver in btb, I wanna see new vehicles, game modes, and weapons.

Having fun with this game but I dont like how fast the TTK is. I feel like in a 2v1 im dead with zero chance of doing anything.
 
I've been going back to ntkrnl posts to compare.

Beta was to run throughout December.
-Close, started at the tail end of December.

6-8 maps.
-There are 7 right?

Two arena maps and two forge maps.
-Not sure of this one yet.

Maps are going to be huge.
-Not the case so far, I guess there might be some big surprise yet to come. And with big maps surely it'll be more than 4v4.
 
Warming up to the game a bit.

Still think the clambering mechanic is sloppy and annoying more often than it's helpful.

The 'flinch' mechanic/animation glitch/whatever is infuriating, but we've already been told it will be gone so I won't hold that against it.

TTK is too short.

Everything else... I'm starting to really like.

Just one question though, is there an on-screen charge bar I'm missing that shows you when you can use boosters again?

I'm trying to get a handle on how frequently you can use. Right now it feels like once every 2 or 3 seconds? Anybody know the exact 'charge' time?
