Ive always taken Halo pretty seriously - but my core group of Halo friends are more casual gamers, but they always did decent enough in the old Halos to at least pay a part and have fun playing. H5 is just way too hard for them - they cant do shit. Im talking constant 1-16 rounds. I was afraid of this after seeing what a competitive shift the game took after playing the early access beta. Hopefully its just the 4v4 arena thing thats the root - things typically ease up in Big Team.
You know the first night we played a brief session and got matched up with new players - last night it was against my ranks. It wasnt pretty heh. They are already saying they arent buying the game. Maybe ill stay out of the next session and let them learn against other noobs.huh, i would think that the beefed up AR would boost the games noob friendly status even if the skill gap increased. are you consistently getting matched with players at your skill rather than theirs?

So what is up with me instantly dying by the first bullet after I break to the second shield layer? It's utterly insane.
headshots will do that. its a halo thing

Click Slayer > enter lobby > Match fills > sit on loading Slayer for 5 minutes > players start dropping > Back out and try again by either closing the game or using the party leave multiplayer trick.
My experience with he Beta today in a nutshell.
Onyx 3.1 here. Anybody wanna play?
are you guys complaining that headshots kill people in one hit now?
I'd bloody well hope they would, no matter what the weapon.

Oh, can't remember the AR having a headshot bonus the last 13 years or so.

Nope. I think they are perfect.I haven't read this whole thread but are we all in agreement that grenades are over powered?
Yeah, I don't mind the grenades themselves but to me there are just too many of them available at any one given time.Nope. I think they are perfect.

Got my first successful ground pound. Felt good
Lag is unbearable. The game keeps connecting to distant data centers (probably one on the US), giving me huge disadvantages against those playing with very low pings.
343i needs to take a step back and think of their international customers. Data center selection is a must. TMCC and now the H5:B clearly shows that their systems is flawed.
If thid change doesn't come, I can't see myself buying H5. I really like the new game play mechanics, but I simply can't buy a game where I'll be in an unfair playing field for most of my matches.
Hopefully you don't pull one off and do zero damage landing on someone.
I was told by people who work on the game there is no headshot bonus for autos. A lot of you seem to just post knee jerk rage reactions after every match, lol.
can you quote where from or actual word of mouth?
If there is no headshot bonus then i'd love to know how the AR can do such things, do I blame netcode again?
Maybe yourself for putting yourself in a position to die?
DMR is king. I've been preaching it for years.
i felt the same in early access, but i dunno, the BR has grown on me considerably.

I just said people who are affiliated with the game who I play with every night. Autos have always been affected the most by netcode. Mine rarely ever kills anyone, which is why I stick to the precision weapons.
One of my few snapshots in the game.
