The worst thing is that we can't even buy stuff online with Target Canada and we don't have Lucario preorder cards here. Finding both of them will be such a pain in the ass if they release on the same day.

I mean, they can't really argue the 'if we didn't partner for whatever-amiibo there would be none of this amiibo' (like MS and Sony can argue for Tomb Raider and SFV, however legit or not).
I mean...everyone else outside of North America can pre-order the Shulks and Rosalinas everywhere. Why not US (and Canada)?
As in Best Buy Canada? I got my preorder confirmation yesturday. Granted, I was suppose to receive my Pit and Captain Falcon Friday but the site was OOS when I checked my order sheet. Just give them time to sort it all out. By now we all know the Amiibo situation is a hot mess. Collecting them ain't for the weak of heart.

I think they decided to do exclusives to give retailers incentive to stock them.

I got my Pit on New Years Eve from Futureshop, but found it weird that Cap didn't ship. I checked on the order status and it says OOS so I probably got screwed over.
I didn't really want him THAT much but I like his design and now I want him more since I never even saw them in stores.
Well, there is the fact that so far WalMart has no exclusive... and they have yet to stock Wave 2 in stores across the USA.

I saw Luigis at Wal-Mart in Canada. I barely go there since it's super out of the way, so I don't know if they got the Zelda part of the wave.
I know another Canadian had the same issue with Pit. He or she also preordered from Best Buy and got the OOS status on the order sheet when it was suppose to release. I think it's just Best Buy having trouble with the shipment of these things. Don't get to vexed though. His shipped and an hour after he posted his news I got my shipment confirmation. Just give it time I guess.
Yeah I'll try not to but Best Buy (Canada) especially has made me furious because their community posting employees posted stupid information regarding Amiibos.

Although I haven't been there in about a week, at the Walmart I go to the section where they stock Amiibo's looked almost identical to on release day, except maybe a few more Mario and Link's were gone. At least they were kept by with the other Wii U stuff though.

My local Wal-Mart has yet to display a single wave 2 amiibo. Not one.
They've also yet to set out any new amiibos even from wave 1 since release day as far as I can tell. The amiibo wall with all 12 labeled posts is still there, but all that's left are a few Mario/Peach/Pikachu/Yoshi laying on the ground. I really don't think a single employee has touched the wall since Nov. 21
Seems to be pretty common across Wal-Marts nationwide.

Chicken-egg thing though? If there were no exclusivity deals with others, will Wal Mart be pouty about it?
Then again, the flip side is none of the shops would carry amiibos without the promise of exclusives, yes.
It still doesn't explain why Europe and Japan shops have a decent amount of them, though, particularly the US' holy trinity.
I just hope this all gets sorted for Wave 4 and up

Play Asia has Ike available for pre order on the 22nd this month so its probably the best chance I have of getting him since all pre orders over here in the US are completely sold out.

I pre-ordered mine from Wal-Mart, and it seems to still be available there. Not sure if it it was a bad idea to use Wal-Mart though.

I got mine at target, but I'm thinking it was someone's preorder or something. I showed up and asked if they had cpt falcon and they pulled it from under the desk by the electronics register like they were expecting someone.
I've never seen one in stores either.
Got my shipment. Just give them sometime to sort through things. As I said before, the Amiibo situation is a mess. order cancellations are a common thing. Give Best Buy some time to sort through things.
Yeah, this really is Nintendo's fault not the retailers.

I agree, all these retailers wouldn't just go totally stupid over the same thing for no reason. Even the jakks pacific Nintendo toys had stock issues and made me quit.
So, I woke up this morning with severe Amiibo regret for some reason. Am I really going to collect all 48 characters, seriously? I think I might be done after Wave 3 with the exception of a few more characters that I'll absolutely need to get (Wario, Ness, Duck Hunt Dog, R.O.B., Mr. Game and Watch) ... oh shit, I'm just looking at them and I want a lot of them.

yea i decided after wave 2 that im only getting certain characters from wave 3 and future waves as its becoming a pain to secure even pre orders for them.

The one at my store looks exactly the same way. Like amiibos are a second-thought.They cleared out a large space next to it though that looks like it may be for amiibos but they haven't added anything yet.
It's obvious Walmart has not prioritized amiibos in store and that may in fact be due to them not having an exclusive. However, they seem to have a large allocation online, they still have some wave 3 figures like Ike, for example.

You can use walmart.com's instore pickup to get any one you want as long as its in any walmarts inventory, same goes for BB.
I have a still-sealed Little Mac and I've got preorders in on two Lucario. I'm in a location that my nearest Best Buy and Target are over an hour away. Anyone want to do some trading for a Rosalina or Metaknight? I'm afraid if I can't trade, those will elude me. Shoot me a PM! Thanks.
Exactly. It's the same reason I expect Rosalina to be in constant stock. Children come first, it's the scalper's code.

I don't know when BB updates their website but i have been burned on that shit like 5 times. I would see it in stock, go there and them looking it up and saying they don't have it. Happened to me on the Halloween limited edition, Raid 2 and Guardians Steelbook. I have even tried to doing in-store pickup on 2 occasions and it giving me an error after adding it to cart.

That was me except I came to the same conclusion after the adreneline rush of grabbing wave one rares wore off. I have about 7 Amiibo's and I realized that chasing after them all was going to hurt my wallet way too much. I already rode this rodeo with Skylanders back when it first came out .... I do think Skylanders were slightly more addicting to buy (for me personally) in part because of their in game utility, however, having high quality Nintendo figurines is pretty addicting in and of itself.
I can see how for the hardcore Nintendo fan, Amiibo collecting could be somewhat akin to crack. I almost got sucked in myself and I'm a Sony guy.
My friend got me Pit for Christmas in store, and that was because I told him by chance I already got Fox from another friend, so he returned the Fox he got me and found that by pure luck.
I also goofed and got two Captain Falcon's, so I'm hoping I can trade one for Lucario when he releases.
