They are typically around an hour so expect like 15 minutes per game

They have Tekken and Soul Calibur guys on this though.

I remember when a friend of mine notified me that Hoshino tweeted about the Pokémon Game Show when it was happening, then quickly deleted the tweet. That's how this all began...
I hope it's 15 minutes of pure awesomeness.

Yeah, I saw that too.

Was difficult to prove because neither I or anybody else was able to get screengrab in time, but there it was.

I'm just glad the "Soul Team" will apparently have other work besides work on that F2P SoulCalibur game.

Bring in some martial arts!
We already got wrestling with Machamp

Hitmonlee - Tae Kwon Do
Hitmonchan - Boxing
Hitmontop - Capoeira
Blaziken - Muay Thai
Throh - Judo
Sawk - Karate
Hawlucha - Lucha Libre
Hariyama - Sumo
Infernape - Monkey Fist

etc

Before it was revealed that they weren't going to explicitly focus on Fighting Types? This would've been ideal for me (along with the likes of Pangoro for Yakuza strongman).

I suppose the very reason that this game won't have a traditional "high-low" game is because it'll make it easier to integrate non-bipeds into the mix.

I think we'll have mostly Fighting-types, but a lot of others that aren't

All I'm hoping is that the like of Machamp will showcase that we'll get an interesting roster, with lesser seen PKMN getting a chance to shine when they usually don't in spin-offs like this.

After all, with actual Fire/Fighting types like Blaziken, Infernape and Emboar to select from, who needs Charizard, anyway?

Fire/Fighting Mega Charizard Z coming? :p

On a tangentially related note, I hate that the blue on Lucario is fur. Prior to Brawl I always pictured it as brushed steel.

Fingers crossed for playable Nurse Joy & Officer Jenny! j/k

On a serious note it will be good to get some actual info. I highly suspect it to come to Wii U in 2016, but won't announce it too early. I mean they need some stuff to pad out the E3 line up (suspect the same for Fatal Frame localisation).

Why is Attack of Christopher in the stream, it's not a new game.

Or is it getting a major update?

Should go without saying, but I wouldn't expect any console news at all, until at least 6 months have passed since the game's been in arcades.

For the first half of this game's life, its job is to be a success in arcades, because that's how Namco makes their money out of the deal. A premature console port announcement would undercut that a bit.

I'm expecting a few more character reveals, and maybe some actual details on how this game actually plays. I mean, having no "high-low" is one thing, but they kinda threw that out there without the slightest inclination of what else we can expect from this game, otherwise.

A part of me is still hoping that maybe SC-style 8-way Run will find its way into the mix (especially if Project Soul is really involved).

What arcade hardware do you think this will run on?

Namco's recent Mario Kart Arcade Gp DX runs on it's own PC based, ES-3 hardware.

Why is this relevant? Purely my own speculation. Because there was never a chance of a home version (we were getting Mario Kart 8) so they never needed to develop a Wii U based arcade board. If you look back to Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Capcom released that game in the arcades on Wii based arcade hardware so the port over to the Wii was done effortlessly - probably uses the same code. Happened before with F-Zero GX/AX and the Triforce arcade hardware too.

But on the flipped, arcade hardware may not be important at all as the Wii U has a very good version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 which ran on custom arcade hardware too.

Ahhh, I'm just rambling.

Would be good to see some non-humanoid Pokemon with some strange movesets.

Also I'm going to guess that Mewtwo will be the boss character. Whether it's base Mewtwo or Mega Mewtwo X is another thing though.

Unless Namco is still in the business of making brand new arcade hardware for separate games? I think it'll just be another System 357/369 game, just like practically everything else they put out now-a-days.

357/369 are based on PS3 specs, so a game made on that hardware should be well within the Wii U's capabilities as much as TTT2 was.

That's a good point. Grunts is just about okay, but even Link sounded amusing in SC2.

Guess it'll depend on just what kind of "world" this game takes place in. If there's no human presence, then by all means, just have them talk, I'd say.

Maturity, bitches.
They'll bring on a weathered old frail rickety man during the Winnie the Pooh segment and then introduce him as the only person to have beaten Christopher Robin after he dedicated the last two year of his life to the cause.

He is only 25.

I wonder if they'll allow "combined" Pokemon.

Like say, Galvantula is playable. But rather than just Galvantula, she (a mother) carries a bunch of Joltik on her back so it's essentially a Galvantula + Joltik character who has minion based attacks.

If they were to do something like that, it'd be more logical for Vespiquen with its Attack Order/Defend Order :)

I underestimated the length of this stream. While it begins at 19:00, the official Twitter just confirmed that the information will come at around 21:30 JST.

That is:

Tekken doesn't usually suck, so why would it?

And that's perhaps the best thing about the game getting an arcade release, first. Such a game has to prove itself to arcade goers, first, which means the likelihood of it being shovelware by the time a console port happens is even less.

Small bit from Harada on its origin:

Next is Pokken Tournament, an arcade fighting game using characters from the Pokemon universe. He says the idea came about when Bandai Namco went to meet with Pokemon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara about licensing music for the Taiko Drum Master music game franchise, and Ishihara surprised them with an idea for a game similar to Tekken. Because Pokken is the first game in a potential new franchise, and because the team has less experience than the Tekken team, Harada says he's spending a lot of time on it at the moment.

To me, the fact that Ishihara came out the gate with suggesting a fighting game being made says a lot. In the last few years, the mainstream PKMN games have done a good deal to cater to the metagame and competitive play. Now, we're getting the company president suggesting that a known fighting game dev make a game for them.

Not to dredge up arguments relating to a certain other video game series and its developer...but it's refreshing to see that at least The Pokémon Company seemingly embraces this aspect with open arms.

I honestly feel a certain someone is more fitting to be the boss of Tekken. Not Mewtwo. Not Arceus.

DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPOIL

He even fits the typical "grant a wish" set up used in a lot of competitive-based story!

SC team less experienced?

Oh so it was all thanks to Taiko Drum Master licensing an anime music.

All hail Don and Katsu!

Oh, so recently? :lol

I just find it hilarious and depressing.

All Star Rumble was wtf, I mean look at this!

(although mad props to Shoutmon X4B's super, that is rad and Super Robot worthy)

My understanding is that that was a cheap thing ordered by Saban to complement the show.

Cyber Sleuth, for example, clearly has had a lot of effort put into it.

From my understanding, the "new" Project Soul team that was formed beginning around SC5's development is a newer version of the team with newer members, with Masaki Hoshino at the head.

If effectively the only thing this restructured team has to its credit is SCV and the SC F2P game? Then yeah, it likely would be a good thing that Hoshino has Harada looking in to oversee.
