Pokken in NicoNico Stream feat. Famitsu (Jan 23)

Also I'm going to guess that Mewtwo will be the boss character. Whether it's base Mewtwo or Mega Mewtwo X is another thing though.
Another theory I had was that Mewtwo would be the Ogre and MMX would be the True Ogre. Mega evos are apparently part of the game but I think Mewtwo might be a special case.

What in the world is that? Am I really that out of the loop with recent Pokemon??

Well

We already know
Hoopa
. We know its powers that its rings can teleport one area from another.

Unbound form is Hoopa without the "limits", and can cross dimensions and such with its rings. Also it's apparently a genie (it uses a Prison Bottle to become Unbound, and remains in that form within three days).

The attack Hyperspace Fury (the gif I posted, it's an attack that never misses and can bypass detect, protect, etc.) reminds me a mix of Zipper Man Sticky Fingers and Filthy Acts Done at a Cheap Price Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap

Mega Hoopa

Well I guess that could work as the boss. Maybe a secret unlockable character.

It's not a mega form. It's an alt form - see Shaymin, Giratina, etc.

That's an alternate (unrevealed) form for
Hoopa
. Didn't realize we had footage of it, to be honest.

NOW IN POKEMON-AMIE!

To me, the fact that Ishihara came out the gate with suggesting a fighting game being made says a lot. In the last few years, the mainstream PKMN games have done a good deal to cater to the metagame and competitive play. Now, we're getting the company president suggesting that a known fighting game dev make a game for them.

Not to dredge up arguments relating to a certain other video game series and its developer...but it's refreshing to see that at least The Pokémon Company seemingly embraces this aspect with open arms.

In the original stream and follow-up, Ishihara said that it was his hope that Pokkén would evolve into a subseries and take its place in the Pokémon World Championships alongside the main series and TCG

That's straight up some Buccellati shit.

But damn it if that laughing animation isn't the coolest.

(they can do that but can't be bothered to have Mega Blastoise actually use its cannons!)

To be fair, that is it using its signature move that no other Pokémon can use :p

Where is the hype? It's less than 24 hours!

Maybe a thread title change should be in the works?

I was SO hyped about Pokken that it's arcade only announcement really hurt me. I love Pokemons "characters" even if I don't like Pokemon main games, so I'm scared by this streaming: I don't want to hype for nothing (nothing = still no Wii U news)

Again, arcade first, then port later.

if a WiiU port is coming I doubt they would announce it before the arcade version is out

I have every confidence it'll do that.

I think the more interesting thing will be how they'll approach the game being at other events. That's perhaps what excites me the most, and I'm really hoping that all that Ninty's done with Smash these last few years is setting a good precedent for what will be expected from TPC in this area.

But hey, guess I'm getting ahead of myself. We still got to see exactly how this game stands to shape up!

CHOO-CHOO~!

I know, people continue saying that. But..what about Tekken7, from the very same company...?

Well, it's the same thing. People know it'll come to XBone/PS4...eventually. But the arcade version is what's being focused on first.

Im pretty sure it was confirmed Arcade First by the Devs when it was announced.

will be ported to consoles later.... like every tekken

sorry, but...isn't the PS4/XONE version already confirmed? announce alongside the Arcade one (after the initial unintentional leak)?
that's a big difference to me.

Ok consider this

there is an english trailer, arcades aren't a thing in a lot of western countries.

During the first stream which announced this, Ishihara said "It is coming to arcades first", then laughed and said he probably shouldn't have said that.

I'd say that, along with the west getting the trailer for it, makes me think that it, or an enhanced version of it, will be on the Wii U by the end of next year

It doesn't look like that guy with the premium account who streamed last time is doing it again, so unless someone else does it, good luck viewing it without getting kicked (except joe lol).

I honestly feel a certain someone is more fitting to be the boss of Tekken. Not Mewtwo. Not Arceus.

DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPOIL

He even fits the typical "grant a wish" set up used in a lot of competitive-based story!

Holy hell that just became my most wanted Pokken character (behind Meloetta) and my most wanted Pokemon Smash newcomer. That's fucking glorious. Hopefully the late release of Pokken gives them time to unveil that glorious beast and include it on the roster.

I'll be live tweeting all pertinent things and crossposting with my site. Don't fret :)

That form will be officially revealed this Spring ahead of the new movie, The Archdjinni of the Rings: Hoopa

There is literally, LITERALLY, no way that Pokken is not coming to Wii U consoles. I absolutely guarantee it, and would bet literally everything on that fact.

Way more excited for this than I am for Tekken 7.

I don't even really care about the roster. I just want a Namco fighter that doesn't play like just another revision of Tekken 5.

Tekken 7 is running on UE4 which doesn't support Wii U. Pokken is definitely running on an engine that is Wii U compatible.

I agree, im also awaiting the fallout and tears from the upcoming multi-platform announcement.

Development and production wise its no different than the Pokemon pc/IOS games is it not? Nintendo are not doing anything other than allowing IP use. It hasn't even got Pokemon in the title.

PC and iOS apps are a lot different to a fully fledged game.

You're basically asking for the equivalent of Mario Kart on the PC.

? I thought its 5EST today?

Nope

Stream starts at 19:00 JST which is in 17 and a half hours. The Pokkén stuff is 2 hours 30 minutes into the stream.

Is anyone expecting anything more than just a trailer? I'm hoping for a loketest announcement myself.

Yeah. They're covering it like they do all other games. These streams take time for playthroughs of games, showing mechanics etc.

Both Harada and Hoshino are in attendance as guests, as well.

The stream wouldn't be around 3 hours (probably more) if they just showed trailers of the four games they're covering :p

I underestimated the length of this stream. While it begins at 19:00, the official Twitter just confirmed that the information will come at around 21:30 JST.

That is:

22:30 AEST
13:30 CEST
12:30 GMT/UTC
07:30 EST
04:30 PST

Stream start:

Pokkén Information start:
t1422016200z0.png

This should be in the OP

I just want it announced for Wiiu

And the fact that Pokemon games have always been on Nintendo systems, there really isnt a reason to keep beating around the bush, Nintendo needs to keep WiiU momentum and officially announcing this game for WiiU would be pretty big
