Pokemon and traditional fighting games still seem to be set too.
I don't think anything has to worry too much, aside from possibly doubles. I could see Brawl getting cut, since most also entered other games. But that seems like about it. Oh, and both Salty Suites are probably in danger.

I think they'll make it work. The best time for it would be TONIGHT though, and we haven't gotten an announcement yet...

Yeah, I'm pretty hyped for Salty Suite. em said "both" Salty Suite's, there are 2? I thought it was just Saturday at 9pm

I would think an entire game would be the last thing to get cut, as that would potentially omit the reason a lot of people showed up, even if Brawl is by far the least popular of the games there.

That's a bummer if true. I was really looking forward to that. Still hyped though but this whole thing is nuts. I was worried I woke up too late and missed the start and then saw all this. Good thing no one was hurt.

My thinking was just that a) SS doesn't need Apex staff to run, just GIMR, a few players, and commentators (though some of the latter groups do fall under Apex staff I guess), and b) tomorrow is gonna be rush rush rush all day, so pulling high level players away from brackets to do salty matches could impact things. But either way, below makes things sound unchanged. ^.^

Melee SS was scheduled for Saturday, but there was also a Smash 4 SS planned I think originally for tonight. Sounds like they're staying put, apparently.
I agree. The only reason I threw Brawl in there along with doubles, is that I think I saw someone here mention that there was a very small number of Brawl players that didn't also enter Smash 4 (like 20-30 maybe?).

Megabus needs to be referenced in the next Smash Bros. somehow. We need to officially adopt it into Smashdom lexicon.
Maybe Sakurai can finally use that bus idea for the story mode that he had with Brawl.

If this year does pan out, this whole disaster might be for the best, as they will have found a solid host for future tournaments.
And successfully expunged one of the worst possible hosts for any event.

This event will probably go down as one of the most incredible video game events in history. The turnaround, the community outreach, and the corporate reaction is just amazing.
eh, maybe. twitch did come in with that amazon money in the clutch to pay for all of this. not sure we can just get a venue like this every year, lol.

The Smash 4 Salty Suite at least will get streamed, I believe. That's not slated until later tonight, though (check the OP for it). That will have high level play for sure.
