I love Pokken!
Same as Dark Souls.
Not really. This time you ring a bell and you are summoned or summons a random player. You don't choose who to summon anymore. Similar to how invasions work.

Where? I don't see a lamp.About the placement of the Clinic lamp and the lamp in Central Yharnam. I feel like the clinic is a much larger place than what was shown in the video. My assumption is comming from this photo and the fact that it has its own lamp.
I was referring to examples like MCC, "early build" isn't a valid excuse anymore.
I didn't read it, I am friends with several people on the Bb team (I've also played the latest builds, but obv I can't break NDA on that)
Even with youtube compression, calling a different TOD a "downgrade" is pathetic.
Alpha only. We don't know if that's the case in the full game.Wait really? You don't choose?
I thought this was the team that worked on Demon's/Dark Souls, not Dark Souls 2?I really don't know what to think yet since I don't want to spoil myself by watching the video, but there's really no reason for me not to expect a downgrade after what happened with Dark Souls 2. From just isn't that great at optimizing. I was hoping Sony was helping them with that, though.

You summon people to aid you in specific parts of the game, like the path leading up a boss. When the boss is beaten, they usually disappear.
Fuck that, if true. Not really. This time you ring a bell and you are summoned or summons a random player. You don't choose who to summon anymore. Similar to how invasions work.

Emmm it happens with every Sony exclusive game.
Infamous was downgraded because lighting was changed in a scene compared to the E3 demo...game is released, looks stunning.
Naughty Dog was hiding a disaster and obivously lied about 60fps because they refused to show gameplay of their TLOU remaster. Game is out, it's a great remaster running at 60fps.
A bad batch of compressed screens and some Twitch footage of the Driveclub beta is released and the comments are....what the fuck is this crap? Totally downgraded.
Game is released and with the weather patch is the most impressive looking racer available.
The Order 1886....no visual downgrade here, impossible to troll the graphics, but who cares, the game is too cinematic, crappy gameplay, sucks anyway.
Bloodborne and this thread...rinse and repeat.
An obivous lighting change (night vs sunset) plus an artistic change...downgrade!
Bah...
Its a Sony exclusive. You haven't come to expect this by now?
When it comes to Sony exclusives this forum turns into Gamefaqs.
Where? I don't see a lamp.
Downgrade City...yikes. I was thinking of getting this game but if FROM doesn't care enough why should I??
Oh yea, I remember this.
I agree with you on the healing items bit. I do wish it was more DaS in its approach than Demon's however they did show a way to purchase blood vials and bullets in Dream Refuge with Blood Echoes. The abundance of that particular currency is yet to be seen.
T...tell me more...
No problem. There is definitely a lamp in the video though. And considering the warp is named '1st Floor Sickroom', it does feel like it may be a larger place.Sorry poor wording. I meant that fact that the clinic has its own lamp not that photo in particular.

I think you can only hold 9 (or how many ever it was) vials at a time (unless that was just something for the demo).Oh reaallly? Thanks thats one mystery crossed off my list lol. In that case there better be a limit on how many vials you can purchase form the Bath Messenger at any given time :/

Souls games are an entirely different experience at 60fps. 100%. This comes from having literally thousands of hours between Demon's DkS1, and DkS2 on every platform imaginable.
Albeit not being impressed with the game graphically, or happy about 30fps, I'll still play the shit out of it like I did every other Souls games at FROM-quality at 30fps.
The biggest thing about the warping that I find makes it okay is that you seem to not be able to warp from lamplight to lamplight. You must first get to one then go back to the Refuge then choose where you want to go.
Very fancy way of saying "three platforms".Souls games are an entirely different experience at 60fps. 100%. This comes from having literally thousands of hours between Demon's DkS1, and DkS2 on every platform imaginable.

Since these are only visual critiques, it isn't the same thing.
Bloodborne |OT| Featuring a lifeless wall and a door
I haven't been interested in Bloodborne because I'm not real into the super-gore horror stuff, but...
- the detail on the levels is very nice, especially the foliage, despite the engine itself looking kinda PS3+/PS4-
- wish it had more complex DMC/Bayonetta combo-ing. combat feels a bit repetitive
- enemy AI feels kinda random, early build issue?
- UI feels dated, too many PC-esque menus, reminds me of Ninja Gaiden (OG Xbox)
- the boss is very impressive visually, though not necessarily an exciting fight as shown in the video. maybe the player just sucks?
- there's something really weird about the audio, especially the voiceovers of the characters. they feel detached from the game, and don't feel like they're actually coming from the characters, but just from loudspeakers somewhere in the gameworld
- the enemy design and weapon design is pretty cool. they definitely nailed a certain visual aesthetic that's familiar to the genre, but also unique
- it's amusing that the protagonist is releasing gallons of blood from bodies, yet his white shirt only gets a bit of splatter
I'm talking about visual critiques. FR was excused because they were early builds shown off on IGN first, literally exact same situation. When release happened there were FR issues galore.
That just makes it more obtuse for no reason. If they are going to make warping available in that way, they shouldn't have to artificially make using it difficult, if that's even what they are doing. It may just be an oversight.
Watching the 1.1gig mp4, it doesn't seem like the video compression is muddying up details.
I think combination of what looks like to be some form of temporal AA and chromatic aberration effect seems to making the game look rather blurry.
I understand From Soft isn't exactly known for making graphically impressive games, though I was impressed with PS1 AC1 and Metal Wolf,
but this new bloodborne footage is quite underwhelming in terms of graphics.

All this talk about different ToDs...
Does anybody besides me prefer the nighttime to dusk?
The atmosphere is a bit better at night, except for the first step into the big city/sky line with the orange glow everywhere, that was good stuff.
Saw this on reddit: Alpha vs IGN's footage

My guess for stats would be
Bloodborne
- Vitality = health
- Endurance = stamina
- Strength = damage for str weps
- Skill = modifier for dex type weapons
- Bloodtinge = determines how much health you can regain from counter hits
- Arcane = modifier for mystical damage on items and weapons.
I think they may have entirely eliminated item burden and equip burden in favor of weight classes on armor and weapons that factor into dodge and backstep distance as well as swing speed. This would fit with their aims to make the game more fast paced and focused on dodging and avoidance over blocking. In such a game you must ensure a certain baseline of dodge and avoidance for all players regardless of stat weight since they can no longer rely on blocking or heavy damage reduction to counter the lack of mobility.
The only real mystery is Arcane. My assumption is that it operates similar to faith or intelligence from past games with its effect on items and weapons but without the added utility of spells utilizing the stat as a damage modifier as well.
