Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

After saying I would just buy the Fire Emblem amiibo's I caved and bought Bowser, and MAN does he look good! If I see a DDD I'll probably cave too.

Also if I jump in on time on the Wave 4 preorders Ness will probably be a given oh god I've been assimilated

Hello everyone! How's everything? I saw that ebay seller with the GS reciept with 20 Toads, and I just can't fathom how that store let him do it. It's insane. I hope the higher ups take notice and stop him from buying all of them, because I've been told associates can't even do even a fraction as many multiples of something for preorder, so why does this jackass get to? It's just gross.
 
I got my Mega Man amiibo today. Man...EBGames employs some remarkably incapable individuals.

First, I called them when the first part of wave 3 shipped. The guy said "yeah, it's in." Me: "Mega Man?" Him: "Yep!" So I go all the way down there, only for the same guy to tell me "Oh, I think Mega Man is one of the ones that got delayed, let me check." Sure enough, they tell me to come back on a couple of weeks.

So, yesterday I got the call that it was in, and that I could pick it up any time in the afternoon or evening. I went in today, and the guy says "Oh, Mega Man? No, we don't have that one." Luckily, a more competent employee happened to be walking by and she told him they were under the counter. "We didn't get enough to fulfill preorders, so it's on a first come, first serve basis." So basically, if she wasn't there they would have told me it wasn't in, sold off my preorder to the next person who walked in and I would have been fucked forever.

Did I mention these were all adults? Like, not high school or college kids or whatever?

I like Amiibos, but I'm not sure they're worth the effort until Nintendo starts increasing shipments. Dealing with this silliness is too time consuming. I do want a Pac-Man though...

Shipment confirmation from Amazon just came in. Ike, King Dedede, and Megaman will be here Friday! Assuming we can go more than 2 days without a blizzard :/
 
Went to GameStop after work to pay off my Shulk preorder. I preordered him for store pickup back in November. Even though GameStop.com said my preorder was closed, I still had a balance and the clerk was able to find my preorder in their system.

I paid the total, and she said they were 80% sure Shulk would be in on Friday.
 
Out of the 3 amiibo I've used so far, Mega Man seems to be the only real competition I have.

Damn it's a beast compared to Shulk and Pit.
 
So uh...i've been out of the loop the last few days.

I preordered Shulk, Mega Man, Triple D, sanic and Mega Man at Gamestop (for physical walk in and purchase). Aren't they supposed to have some of these coming in on the 13th?

I have my preorders for Monster Hunter at another Gamestop but I dunno if I should check and be on the ready to go pick my stuff up or what.

Gotcha. I would recommend you play the game on Wii U by whichever means is easiest. It is a far superior experience and you'll actually enjoy fighting against your Amiibos as they level up without worrying about breaking the controller

The best way, bar none.

Hey, check that other store for extras to trade, doesn't hurt. Your current preorders will still be intact at the main store, so long as you get there within the 48 hold period. So don't feel like you need to rush to get those first. If anything, you could call the store in advance to remind them to hold your preorders, just to be extra positively sure.

Also, still no luck with that name change, huh greenwolfe? Sucks you're changin' it at all, but hey, if the new one suits you better, then who am I to say anything! Where does "greenwolfe" come from, anyways?
 
Finally got my Rosalina amiibo from my friend, I had like 5 amiibo to give to him lol. Pit, Sheik, Bowser, Lucario, and Luigi. Where the hell are the Wave 4 orders :(

yeah i know. Im really glad I did considering all the trouble others had.
My store doesn't really know me on a personal basis, but the girl there told me they'd call when they get them in when i talked to them on the phone last week.

I was also told that I was like one of the only people to preorder there which makes me a bit anxious that they'll sell my preorders...

None of my friends really have a Wii U and I don't know anyone else who has one.

Will try though when the opportunity arises.

No need to be anxious. Unless they're complete idiots over there, your amiibos are secure. Talk to the manager if you need to be 1,000% sure. Doesn't hurt.

Also, what's all this line business I'm reading here?

GS is pretty much everyone except Bowser and the other exclusives. They're kinda late with wave 3. :p

Sonic and Mega Man are gonna be even later there too. Feb 20.
 
Hopefully I'll get them on GameStop this week. If not then best buy is the next building from my Job so I'll be able to line up on the 20th. Whatever I fail to get I'll just import :(
 
Ooooh MAN! Just checked the tracking on my Shulk, and he should be in tomorrow! Woo! Still not Mega Man, though...but awesome nonetheless!

Exactly, that's what I did for Villager and WFT. Almost had Marth in that order, but it was a 3rd party seller, so it needed its own expensive shipping. Still, just glad to have it.

I would go Gamestop just for Shulk but I am pretty sure Toysrus will have em wave 3b in truckloads.
 
I noticed that Best Buy updated their website with Mario Party 10 for Wii-U at $50 but they didn't have the amiibo bundle. Anyone know if they will put it up eventually or should I just go Gamestop. I would like to save the $12 with GCU if possible.
