I'm not into this cast black/asian/etc for any role just because multiculturalism, but I would love Donald Glover as Peter Parker.

Dylan O'Brien

He's got the look and comedic sense. Perfect.

Ben Whishaw.

The guy who plays the Flash would be really good too but he's already unbelievable in his role.

I think having someone young would bring some fresh air to the MCU, most of the mains are like late twenties to late thirties.

God, that's so old!

I'd prefer an older spidery, I'm over the I'm a whiny teen, angst, I have lots of problems Spiderman.

Dylan O'Brien is the only choice for me that would really work. I loved Garfield as Spidey, which is a damn shame that he's out.

+1 for Dylan. He'd nail it.

i don't know what peeps are basing it off of tbh, but anyone who saw Maze Runner should KNOW this kid cannot pull of 'lead' by any stretch.

I saw it and thought he was fine. He's also pretty much the reason why I was able to watch as much Teen Wolf as I did, and he played two totally different characters in each. He can pull off likable nerd with finesse.

'fine' won't cut it. The romantic element of MR was laughable, and I doubt Marvel's gonna throw that to the wayside.

they will be looking for a guy that can do funny + romantic + action, and Logan Lerman fits that bill, but I don't think even he has a shot. LOL

That Atom suit is killer. Does echo Iron Patriot a bit though.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be my runner up to Jake Gyllenhall. Both fantastic actors that would really make a cool take on spidey.

Er, Maze Runner didn't really have a romantic angle, it only hinted at it and even that was fleeting. It was hardly anything that it concentrated on, and just because that film wasn't flourishing with romance doesn't mean that Dylan is incapable of it. You're taking apples and oranges and trying to construe an argument out of it. It's like watching a drama and saying that someone wouldn't be fit for a comedy because there were no comedic elements in said drama.

Based on what I've seen him do between Teen Wolf and Maze Runner, I think he would be a really good fit. He's both physically capable and has experience at playing a likable nerd. But please god, anyone but Logan Lerman or Efron.

There's nothing inherent to Peter Parker that dictates he be a white guy, of course, although if the only reason to cast a black guy as Parker is because he's black, I mean, I don't know that the word for that is "racist," but it seems off.

Was Andrew Garfield actually bad?

Honestly Grant Gustin, Dylan O brian or Zac Efron are the only logical choices. I'd say the Percy Jackson kid works also

Dylan O'Brien? He's basically Garfield except less charisma. They will go with someone totally different in style now I bet.

that 'hinted at' or 'fleeting' romantic element in MR was awkward as hell, and not in the intentional 'aw' sort of way! LOL

i'm sorry, but I just don't see Disney/Marvel resting a multi-billion dollar franchise on the back of a guy who doesn't have any kind of resume to back up what's needed. Spider-man is about more than the 'look' unlike Captain America and Thor. He's gonna need to be a better actor than Dylan O'Brien or Grant Gustin are capable.

tbh, I actually can see Disney/Marvel going for Shia Labeouf... they're not gonna go for some TV fandom wank fodder.

I want somebody who's enough of an unknown that he can appear as the character on TV too. Like, he's one of the gang in the Netflix shows AND in the huge Avengers movies.
