Quick question, does TRU have a hard street date for the new Amiibos? The reason i'm asking is because the two I called said they're holding them for the 13th and they're first come first served and 1 per customer.
Pretty sure it's a hard date, yeah.
Earlier today I got the GS text for just Sheik. I called them up to make sure about the time to pick her up. I was told they normally get their shipments between 10-12, and that they will call me. I also asked about Shulk and the others I had for pick up there. He told me that Shulk may also be in tomorrow, along with some other wave 3s. He didn't tell me what the others were though.
I actually went before it came it to pay it off, and the reservation was gone. So, I called corporate and they looked at my reserves ... it's reserved at a totally different store! They said they had no way to explain why my e-mail says one thing and the reservation went somewhere else.
Fortunately, it's only about 8 miles away, but that's really messed up. I wonder how many people that said GS cancelled their orders actually had them go to a different location.

Yeah, Ike, Dedede, Mega Man, and Sonic won't ring up at the registers until the 13th.

Just got a text from Gamestop that my Shulk will be ready for pick up tomorrow.
Do you have Fox or Sheik? I may end up with multiples of them. I know I'll have a second Fox already coming.

I ordered some Amiibos from multiple places to try and avoid cancellations. Completely missed out on the Shulk preorders

Ah, I assume you reserved online. Their web-in-store and reserve system sucks. The guy doing my web-in-store order when I was buying my Monster Hunter 3DS was lamenting how bad it was. It's apparently gotten really bad since corporate has started pushing web-in-store orders. Hopefully if they're pushing WIS, they'll improve the system so associates can actually use it.

Mine said Shiek, but all my local stores seem to be getting Shiek and Toon Link right now.

Nothing man. 12.99 in store credit I guess. Yoshi is common and available almost anywhere. I still have Foxes around my area and they go in and out of stock online. I dont think anyone would be willing to even trade for them through the mail because that would put a $4 to $7 additional fee on top of them. Hopefully you can just return them or gift them to someone.
The boxes I saw in the TRU stock room today had an orange hold till 2/13 sticker on the side and the lady was sticking to it. I tried to get her to scan it but she wasn't having it ha.
Why would you do this every hour? These poor GS employees ha. Can't you just check the online inventory checker they have been working. Working to well actually as they show ones that are other people's preorders. Maybe call once you seem them pop up then ask them about extras?
I just called to see if they are getting my preorder in today and the guy sounded defeated talking about Amiibos ha. He said it literally could be today or any day that Nintendo stock is all over the place.
Also called the guy at my store about the notification I got, and he said Shiek, Shulk, and Toon Link are expected in at my store this week, and that the store will give me a call from a human when they arrive. Said it's better they do it that way because people are nuts with the amiibos and he wants to make sure the pre-orders are properly covered.

I think the worst would be working GameStop CS right now. They've been hammered for like 3 days with people asking if their Majora's Mask 3DS/Majora's Mask CE/Monster Hunter 3DS/CE have shipped yet. They're probably dealing with that call over and over 8 hours a day. Man that would suck.
Amiibos are more a long term question, though.
Local GameStop called today got in Toon Link and Sheik. So now my store has gotten Bowser, Link and Sheik. Dude said try back Friday for Shulk and that store just got enough to cover pre orders.
On another note anyone know a place that will do custom Amiibo paint jobs? Thinking about getting enough Toon Links to get painted like 4 swords I think that would be neat.

Just an update for those in wait. My WIS Shulk came yesterday in good shape. And my in store preorder is apparantly coming tomorrow (got a text from GS). And Megaman is on track for Fri from Amazon!
Now just gotta keep hoping Ike and DeDeDe eventually come my way...

I held my first amiibo in my hands two weeks ago. It was the little mac I gave my nephew. I still have not opened any of my own.
I've only opened 2 amiibos out of the 16 I have. I really like them in their boxes.
I've opened them all. No reason for me to keep them in boxes. I've only used two of them (one of which I've sold).
Seems like a good reason to me to not open them.

I got US Shulk in the mail today. Despite being humanoid, I think he's one of the better looking figurines. Conversely, Bowser looks like crap.

Well Nintendo's evil plan worked.
UPDATE 1: I only had a 3DS and bought Smash (always been a huge fan) and decided I'd pick up a few amiibo to use.
UPDATE 2: Nintendo completely forgets about supporting OLD 3DS with amiibo (at this point I'm sitting on a handful of figurines that have ZERO game functionality to me)
UPDATE 3: Nintendo says, "hey if you buy both our Smash games, we'll give you the soundtrack and Mewtwo!" (dam you Nintendo, you knew I loved Mewtwo and "free" stuff)

Just got my text from GS. I ordered 1 from 2 different stores. Not sure which one that was for ha. I called one GS a bit ago and they were annoyed and said they had no clue. So I will assume it is the other one. ha

Since it seems like Mega Man will be common I don't think I'll bother standing in line again and wait until next month for him to go up on amazon or instore. This month I will have another free prime trial and enough for Link and Kirby so I think I will do that...but I feel like I should save my free prime trial for something bigger lol. Or maybe I will stand in line for Mega Man at TRU hhmm.. >_>
I'm starting to freak out at my lack of ability to get Rosalina an Lucario. I really don't know what to do. Is the Amiibo Trading thread in Community?
Also, has anyone who pre-ordered Meta Knight gotten theirs from Best Buy yet? I pre-ordered him on the first day he was available for in-store pick up and I have yet to even get an email on the update. Am I out of luck here?
