I believe its balsa wood, but there is a thinner piece of foam above it for the amiibo bases to rest on. The balsa wood is more to keep the foam firm and stable when I move it around.

I used an exacto knife to cut the foam, it worked only decently well, straight lines are fine but the circle made the edges rough. Next go at it I'm going to try an exacto heated over a candle, which seemed to work better when i tested it

edit: its birch plywood. But honestly i just went to the craft store and grabbed stuff that I thought would work
 
I have the Samus one which i use, i also got the Villager one but when i heard about it not being released again, i decided not to take him out of the box :(

Saw Toon Link at best buy and remembered I had GCU so I went ahead and picked it up. Saw the label for Shiek but there wasn't any there, so that made me a little sad.

That bad huh? It's like getting into GAF all over again lol. Can't blame them though since I heard some gaffers were passing info to scalpers around thread 2 (wasn't really active in that thread beyond how it sucked that I missed Rosalina preorder opportunities)

Pretty much since target was pretty stupid on the limit. I also responded to your strikethrough comment above.

But yeah, probably your best shot at getting in is just being active and you'll probably be noticed.

I had no idea what I was doing at that time. I mean I thought the Japanese logo looked awesome. Would have wanted a Japanese amiibo from AmiAmi. Pre-orders Elsa nendoroid but not a Rosalina amiibo. If I could go back in time, I would probably smack myself for it lol

Well that sold out quickly. Except Meta Knight and Dedede, those have been in stock for over a week now. Nobody wants those two.

I wonder when ever the Gold Mario amiibo is officially released ,will Walmart step its game up in amiibo inventory.

They ought too ,im surprised to hear so many stories of Walmart having abandoned amiibo sections ,i expected more from ones of America' most successful chain store.
 
I'm in Australia and have a sealed Rosalina I'd love to trade for something. An Ike or a Kirby probably. I'm happy to consider international shipping if you really want a Rosalina. Just PM me
 
I'll have an extra US King DDD and US Ike by Monday, I am willing to trade either one for an US Shulk or US Meta-Knight if anyone is interested.

Its made from foam and each "step" will house 4 amiibos snugly in the cut out circles

The circles are cut so the amiibos fit easily in them but do not fall out or move, so I can rearrange the amiibos as I like, or move particular amiibos to display in other locations.

You can see the circles that the amiibos sit in a bit better in this pic

This is just the first one and the edges are rough but hopefully the next few ones I try will be better now that I have the technique down for cutting the foam

Unfortunately the foam I found from the craft store wasn't thick enough so I had to double up making the process a bit more complicated and cutting a bit more difficult

On topic: I gave up and imported Metaknight and Dedede. My time and sanity is worth the money.

Did megaman release at gamestops yet? The one I preordered at says they dont know when/if they are getting any even tho I preordered at same time as toon link (which I picked up a while ago).

It is really tempting to try and buy from NZ, but I imagine it is all but impossible to get it sent to NA.
