To this day I can only ask myself one question:
HOW?
Did they really not detect the issues at launch?.
They did know. There is absolutely no way they didn't. They went to Halofest, put on a smile, and pretended nothing was wrong as they hyped you on a product knowing full well it was broken.

People have every right to be annoyed. Part of the problem with the underlying issue is its inconsistency. You're having a good experience. We have players who don't encounter any issues at all (outside of long matchmaking times) but plenty of players encounter real issues. That underlying weirdness is what we're fixing and what's at the root of the vast majority of the problems. Untangling it and re-engineering it was vastly more complicated than we expected.
Again one day I hope we can do a tech post-mortem - but the big fix is making rapid progress. In the meantime, people who're having engative experiences have every right to bitch. I support them in this.
Not death threats though.
Is there any grounds for a class action lawsuit?
Yeah every single tournament they had before hand had problems and the casters just chalked it up to being pre-release builds.
This industry is insane.
This industry is insane.
I personally haven't had any problems with it so far in 2015. I've had one or two lobbies crash, but that's about it.
Are you playing with friends?
Are you playing with friends?
I disagree. The vast majority of pro players do not want sprint. To name a few Naded, Roy, T2, Hysteria, Walshy, and more. Naded has gone on record to say Halo should have went the Counter-Strike route with further refinements and content beginning from Halo 3. Roy has said he wants to see how Halo 5 plays without sprint and Halo 3 for competitive was the best Halo and had everything the players asked for. There is more details about 343 and pro player feedback.
I do think the survey is valuable for input but I don't think a survey, where most discontent people are not even going to open, not to mention, a select survey is a proper form of measurement. The people who enjoyed Halo 5 are likely more eager to participate in the survey than those less enthusiastic, especially since the franchise has taken a hit since 343. Lets make the survey a bit more all inclusive, eh? How about listening to player feedback after Halo 4, where Halo interest was still high, and not shit on us with Halo 5 by shoving changes down our throat so we can 'like it'. Make a survey that anyone can participate in. After Halo 4, there was literally an outcry of Halo fans for not wanting sprint or abilities, that has left such a bad taste in many Halo fans that they have just moved on from Halo since 4, with many casual Halo fans leaving the franchise and disappointed in Halo 5 that they stopped caring to do surveys..
This is what I want to know from everyone who says it works fine for them. Are they joining as a party? My whole group has to all quit the app at least every two games or we cannot rejoin each other (we get split up after almost every game)
This whole thing is a mess, but the worst thing about it is that its quite obvious they knew their game was fucked up, and took steps to conceal it from the press and sell it anyway.
Exactly.
Stinkles says he hopes to post a tech post-mortem in the future, but I'd be more interested in the management and marketing post-mortem.
What honestly made them think that this was acceptable? We all know they knew they could get away with it, given a sycophantic press. But what made them think sending out a broken product was even remotely acceptable?
Snake oil salesmen the lot of them.

all that Spencer dude's fault obv, yet people keep singing him praises
What's worse is that the head of development of this game literally, and I mean LITERALLY went MIA. He has not tweeted since November 13th and has not been heard of since. Bonnie Ross is sometimes around, but she is also quiet. The only person that actually says something is Frankie, and even then it's not nearly enough. It's embarassing.
It's obvious there are internal controls limiting who can talk about it and what they can say. The twitter silence from prolific marketers going MIA immediately after launch indicates they knew it was a lemon. Once the sales start though they've done their job in creating hype. Going silent though just shows a complete lack of integrity.
Guaranteed these people will be chirping all in excitement when the Halo 5 marketing campaign proper starts. But you won't hear a word of acknowledgement of this clusterfuck from them when they are trying to keep "on-message" about their new tonic.
And yet the gaming press played the exact same game we all paid for and gave it high praise. Shows how little integritt and ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAMES THEY ARE REVIEWING goes. This whole thing is a mess, but the worst thing about it is that its quite obvious they knew their game was fucked up, and took steps to conceal it from the press and sell it anyway.
I agree with all of this. It needs to be quoted in full. The myth that Halo: MCC is working for some, but not for others makes absolutely zero sense. Again you're minimizing the issues that the game has, and suggesting that the primary issue that the game has is matchmaking inconsistency due to variability in home networks. I expect that your future updates are focusing on improving stability across all network types, but I very much doubt they will be able to correct the numerous underlying issues that plague this game.
With Halo: MCC the only way that there could truly be a subset of players that are not "encountering any issues at all" is if said players have a completely different set of code, which they obviously don't.
I guarantee that if I (or any number of NeoGAFers) personally visited the houses of the people who are claiming that "they are not experiencing problems", I would be able to immediately list, identify, and document (most if not all of) the same problems that I encounter on my own personal XboxOne, TV, and home network.
There's nothing inherently wrong with the people who are claiming that the game works or is acceptable. They're simply not scrupulous end-users, and that's fine.
What is unacceptable, is the fact that Stinkles and others at Microsoft/343i are using the testimonials made by the "glass half full" types, to discredit users who have consistently documented all bugs/issues since launch. The simple fact that Stinkles/Microsoft/343i continues to perpetuate the myth that the game "does work" for some, is a huge slap in the face.
Just tried to play Spartan Ops with some friends earlier today.... and we could never actually join each other's lobby after trying for 30 mins
Just to be sure it wasn't XBL, we tried Titanfall fall... and had zero problems
WHAT
THE
FUCK...
Welcome to the club.
Playing solo is already a pain, but playing with friends matchmaking is downright impossible.
speaking of stinkles i havent seen him post over on the gaming side in a while...
anyways in 100 more days the game will probably still be broken.. all of you should get together and do something about it.

Why is it crazy??
The last of us remake is currently 95?
With the MCC you get 4 quality remastered greatest ever single player campaign's compared to 1 in TLOU.

Seems like MCC was a quite a good system seller going by this thread.
Anyway, I think the population is all but dead now even if the game ever get truly fixed. Feel bad for all the Halo fans having issues.
Nobody deserves a broken game, I felt the burn with ACU.
I, too, am only interested in BTB. I've not touched the game in a month, and the last time I did was for 10 minutes like you.Put this game back in tonight after a 3 week break.
Selected Big Team Battle.
Said "Players Found" for 5 minutes.
"Connecting Session"
"Session Full" (?!?!?)
Back to "Players Found" for 5 more minutes.
Turned game off - went back to 360 World of Tanks.
I just want to play Big Team Battle Halo, 343. Thats all I want, and you wont let me.
I've been on this game for 90 minutes tonight by myself with no party. 0 games played. Unbelievable.
TLOUR isnt broken.
Haven't had a problem with MCC campaigns.
Preach it!I literally bought an XboxOne for MCC.... oh and Quantum Break
....Aaaand because I felt my PS4 was shoddily built/couldn't stand the noise and heat it put out
Anyway, thank goodness for Titanfall!
